People tend to forget just who the Potters are.
Decents of the Perevell, keeper of one of the deathly hollows.
Fleamont 'Monty' Potter, a calm man with respect for everyone. Even the ones who don't deserve it get respect from him.
Euphmia 'Effie' Potter, a badass woman who kept her family safe some hell or high water.
And finally.
James 'Prongs' Potter. Prankster. Calm and collected man. Until those he considers family or people he loves are threatened. Then? Then he's no longer a calm person, he'll be the devil himself for those he loves.
So when James found out what Dumbledore tried to do to Regulus, and lied to Sirius saying he was recruiting Regulus to join the Order, he was on a mission.
See, Regulus wasn't dumb. He told James what Dumbledore told him, that inside the cave was the key to destroying the locket.
James however, was told that Regulus had turned down the offer to join the Order. Dumbledore doesn't know just how bad he messed up, he may be the 'best wizard' but he was cocky.
James? He held no title, or mass around of power. But he was just as deadly.
James gathered his friends, all willing to protect them and theirs. The plan was hatched then, how to show the world just who Albus Dumbledore was as.
The only people who knew, were the people James truly trusted. Lily, Regulus, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Pandora, Marlene, Mary, Barty, Evan and his parents.
Who had a...specific reason for this. You don't fuck with their kids. The rest of them all had their own reasons to want to do this.
They all walked to the willow, where the order is meeting tonight. James was in the front, adorned in the invisibility cloak and the Potter family ring.
"Ah! Boys how lovely of you to join us, I fear I have some bad news" Dumbledore says.
"Oh? And do tell" James says, his usual aloof tone gone, replaced with a deathly calm tone which catches Dumbledore off guard.
"I fear Regulus was killed, he had gotten this idea in his head he could defeat Voldemort by himself if he did something" Dumbledore says, watching everyone reactions.
Everyone stares at him, looking at each other. The small circle parts, revealing a very much alive Regulus. "I fear I'm not that easy to kill Albus" Regulus says and steps between Lily and James.
James grabs his left hand, Lily grabs the right. The trio steps up closer to Dumbledore. Dumbledore looks shocked, then a little angry.
"You fools! Do you realizes what this means? You know who could come for you all!" He say feigning fright and worry.
"Liar! You sent me brother to his death! For your own reasons!" Sirus shouts form behind the trio.
"I did not! I told him the truth!" Dumbledore tried to defend himself.
"You lie Albus! You said he didn't want to join the Order! He did! He would have done whatever he needed to keep his friends and family safe! You turned him away!" Effie shouts and shoves her was to the front, Monty right behind her.
"Ah! Mr. and Mrs. Potter! How lovely to see you both!" He say cherrily, trying to hide his nerves.
"Albus! You are a liar and are trying to use my children as pawns! I won't let it happen" she sneers and looks him dead in the eyes.
Dumbledore looks scared, Effie was a protective woman over her kids, he knew that. "Mom, let me and the rest handle this. Go do what we agreed on, we'll be fine" James says his tone soft with his mom who nods and drags Monty out of the forest.
James turns his cold eyes to Albus one last time. "You are not the man who you say! You know it!" James says coldly. "James please my boy, it's not that big of a deal!" Dumbledore tried to reason, "do you really want to try and stop me? You aren't strong enough! You'll be seen as the villain not the hero"
"Make me your villain, Albus. I'll happily do it protecting my family" James says and adjusts his ring, a gold ring with a dark red gem in the middle.
Albus's face pales and he steps back, "is that the Perevell ring? How did you get it? It was supposed to be lost" Albus says his voice shaking.
James grins, "it was my father's, he gave it to me to stop you" James says coldly. "What is it you want? Me dead? And what'll that do?" He asks James shakely.
"It'll give me and my family freedom with fear of your using us!" James shouts and steps forwards, raising his wand.
"Give up Albus, there's to many of us" Lilys soft voice says from behind James. James, nods and raises his wand higher.
Albus, draws his wand, sending a hex to the group. Thankfully, there as a protection charm over all over them and the spell bounces off.
Regulus walks up to Albus, clenching his fists. "I could have died! Do you really not care at all?!' he shouts and puts his want under Dumbkesores neck. "No! I don't! You're just like your family! Mad! And useless!" Albus finally snaps.
James loses it, "Sectum Sempra!" James shouts and throws the cutting curse towards Albus.
Albus let's out a scream and falls to the ground, blood seeping into the clean white robes he was in.
He had been unable to block the hex since he wasn't focused on doing it, "James! Why are you doing this?!" He shouts and starts to lose consciousness.
"You tried to take Regulus from me and Lily. I don't take kindly to that. You have been lying and using everyone in the Order, by now everyone should know that. Any last words Albus?" James asks and holds his wand to Dumbledores neck.
"I did nothing wrong!" Albus defends.
"Is that all?" James ask coldly.
"Ye-" Albus is cut off "AVADA KEDAVA" is the last thing heard in the clearing before the world goes black for Albus.
