I Guess It Was Not Written In The Stars?
Note
hi guys, this is the first ever thing i wrote i think (besides the poetry) but i thought i should release this and share my thought and this specific short headcannon with y'allhope you enjoy!

Sirius Black, once a boy who joined a magic school and lost his childhood because of the people that were supposed to give him one. days of wondering when it’ll be over and he could run away from it all. James Potter entered his life. James gave him the chance to be himself, to run away from the nightmare Sirius had to call home and to give him a place where he did not need to hide. Sirius felt good, amazing even. He felt like he finally had a place to call home.

Everyone continued to grow up, but then on October 31st 1981 his home got ruined. all of it. The people he called family were no more. James had a baby named Harry, he was about 1 year old with a whole world in front of him. He knew James and Lily would’ve been great parents, but the universe decided otherwise.

After spending 12 years in Azkaban he managed to escape and find harry. The first time he found him was when Harry ran away from the Dursleys, which meant it must've really been as horrible as he thought it would be.
Harry was James’ son, he could not just let this happen knowing James saved him from this situation years ago.

The first time he talked to Harry he promised him a home, an actual home. He didn’t think James would forgive him if he didn’t. it was also just his first instinct to do so, he had to save this boy.

18th June 1996.

The day Sirius knew he could not give Harry what James had given him. his hopes fading away together with the life in his eyes. Sirius Black was no more, and he couldn't even go over to James in the afterlife to tell him he really tried, as much as he wanted to, he couldn’t. his body and soul were now forever trapped behind the veil with no way of returning back.

James had saved him from his home, but Sirius could not do the same for Harry and although Sirius could not haunt anyone, the thought of all of this felt haunting enough to the boy named after the brightest star, as if it would haunt him forever.
