Lost At Sea
Blue.
Blue everywhere I look.
Blue like flowers, robin’s eggs and crystals.
Royals, babies, and indigos.
Any shade you can think of.
Surrounded by the sea and sky.
Blue is everywhere.
Ship, lost;
Only a lifeboat,
To keep me afloat.
To ravens, quills or papers.
No way to get help.
Only me and my little lifeboat.
Slowly bobbing in the waves,
Rocking gently, back and forth.
Something on the horizon.
A ship? Land? Or something else?
Only time will tell.
Eventually, I uncover the mystery.
An old pirate ship,
Larger than my own.
Black sails,
A mermaid on the bow,
And many pirates aboard.
Spotted soon enough,
They throw me a rope,
Helping me aboard.
Such an odd group of men.
Some tattooed, some scarred, all intimidating.
The captain of them all, dressed in red.
Hair black as the night sky.
Eyes blue as forget-me-nots.
With one hand he removed his hat,
Greeting me, with a bow.
The other hand, nonexistent.
Nowhere to be found.
Only a hook, in its place.
