Your green eyes sparkle
In the light of this horrible town.
How dull, in comparison;
How dull the stars look,
Next to my favorite emeralds.
Doomed to be from this town in every life;
You and I.
Familiar faces, I have seen over and over.
Different names, different people.
Yet exactly the same as they have always been.
Same eyes, same souls, different times;
My old soul,
Been around all these years.
Seen many come and go;
Times change; the cycle continues.
This town; still hell on earth.
Wishing to leave, break the cycle.
Unable; forced to relive all this pain.
Nothing stops changing, lost everything.
The one constant I have:
My love for you,
Every version of you.
Names may change,
It is always you.
Still my love, after all this time.
My best friend through our many years.
Admiration runs deep in my heart.
How brave you are:
Standing up for your beliefs,
Protecting our family,
Surviving through all the hard times,
Saving me at my darkest times;
And I, helping you.
Been through so much
All those many years ago.

Painful memories,

Yet sweet memories,
