The dark haired girl had left her room, she didn't know where she was going or what she would do. She was out of her mind. oh god she didn't want to go through with this, it was her last year in hogwarts. She knew she had to do this, even though she felt like it would destroy her life, she had no choice. She was in love with someone else, a girl specifically. She knew she shouldn't, she couldn't. Her family would never approve of this. They wanted her to marry this rich blonde boy that she had met maybe once, in her entire life. She knew she would have to leave her love forever, but she didn't know how. Her parents would kill her if they knew about this. Narcissa Black couldn't be in love with a girl, it was disrespectful and terrible for their family. It seemed like that was the only thing her family cared about, that and being a rich, famous pureblood family. They would even send her off to a man overseas, just to make sure their family would stay pureblood. That wasn't the case this time, but she kind of wished it was. She wanted to leave, to leave this terrible family she was born into. She was being forced to marry a random man. How could she tell that to her? She couldn't, but she knew she had to. It was time to tell her the truth, the truth her lover deserved. She would give her what she deserved, if it would be the last thing she ever did for her.
Now Narcissa was walking up the steps of the old stairs, she was not excited for this interaction. She always used to be excited to see Alice, but this time it was different. She had arrived at the tower, where she saw Alice sitting on the edge of. She was beautiful, her hair moving from the wind. She was too beautiful, but Narcissa had to focus, she would just tell the truth to Alice and that would be it. How hard could that be? Narcissa took a deep breath, taking a step closer to Alice, who turned her head around, with a bright smile on her face. She had been waiting for her. She slowly stood up, walking towards Narcissa.
’’Hey, what did you have to tell me? I still have to study for tomorrow’s exam.’’
Alice asked with a blank expression on her face, as she was looking at Narcissa.
’’So..You have probably heard about the marriage with me and Malfoy.’’ Narcissa breathed heavily, she didn't know how to break the news to her lover. ’’Of course I have, everyone’s talking about it. You are not going to do it, right? Like we discussed?’’ Alice asked the dark haired slytherin with some desperation in her voice.
‘’Alice.. You know I have to, I'm sorry. I love you, but.. we have to break up.’’
Silence filled the air, neither of them saying anything more. Nothing. Alice felt awful, she thought Narcissa had made the decision to not do it already, but she was wrong. A tear fell down Alice's cheek, the only sound was the cries of Alice that night. Alice tried to hurry, to go back to her dorm and forget all about Narcissa, but she knew she couldn't. That was not a choice. Alice took a few steps towards the stairs, but felt Narcissa grabbing her arm, and shaking her head. Alice pulled her hand away, and went down the stairs.
Narcissa had done it, she couldn’t believe she had actually gone through with it. No, she did not want to marry Lucius, but it was her duty to do so. Even Bellatrix had done it, so she was the next in line. With Andromeda being.. She had to follow her parents orders. She was devastated. She left the only person she had ever truly loven, because of her family. How pathetic. She was pathetic, scared of her own parents.
At the day of the wedding (a couple of years later)
Narcissa had been dressed to this beautiful white wedding gown, it was beautiful, even she thought so. She was looking at herself from the mirror. She didn't want to go through with this. She took a deep breath. The room she was in was suffocating her, she felt like she couldn't breathe. It was probably some slight anxiety, nothing to worry about. She stared at her figure in the mirror, she looked weird. There was no happiness in her eyes, and she was getting married that day for god's sake! She couldn't get out of this, she was scared of being disowned. Today was the day she had to be married to a guy she had talked to once or twice, whom she didn't even like. Now her father walked into the room she was in, he had a blank expression on his face, not even happy for her.
’’Are you ready?’’ Cygnus asked his daughter, Narcissa turned towards her father and nodded slowly. She made her way towards him slowly, the dress dragging on the ground as she walked.
Her father took her hand and walked her to the altar while the music was playing. She saw a slight grin on her fiance's face, she didn't like it. Oh, how she wanted to leave the moment she stood next to Lucius. That wasn't an opinion for her unfortunately. Her breathing was heavy, while her family was watching her from the crowd, her cousins, her aunts and uncles. They came there just to watch her get married. It was a big deal for their whole family. Andromeda, Narcissa saw a tiny glimpse of her sister in the crowd. She hadn't seen her in a while. She had thought she would never see her anymore. Now she had to look towards Lucius, trying to show some type of happiness from her face, but the truth was there was none. She wasn't happy, not at all, she was devastated. She stared into Lucius’s eyes, as she put on a fake smile. The pope started saying the same speech there was at every wedding. ‘’Do you Lucius Malfoy take Narcissa Black to be your lawfully wedded wife?’’
’’I do.’’ Lucius answered, and put the ring quickly onto Narcissa’s hand. Narcissa couldn't feel anything other than anxiety at that moment. This must be some type of a dream, this never happened. She had thought, but it wasn't a dream. It was real life.
’’And now, do you Narcissa Black take Lucius Malfoy to be your lawfully wedded husband?’’
Narcissa took a deep breath. This was the moment her whole family had been waiting for. They would be really disappointed in her after this.
’’I do not.’’ Narcissa said loudly, making sure everyone heard her right. She heard gasps everywhere from the crowd, she had done it. She couldn't believe in it herself. Andromeda was the only one who actually looked a little proud of her sister. Bellatrix looked furious, she knew this would happen. Lucius, Lucius was the one who looked the most angry. He stormed off from the altar, and threw the ring into a bush. Her father stared at her with deep hatred in his eyes, and she knew, she had fucked up. Narcissa decided to run, she ran to the changing room she had previously been in. She only had one thing in her mind, Alice. Narcissa took her dress off, changing into her normal, everyday clothes. Then, she ran.
Narcissa had arrived in the place she wanted, a random bar, a few streets away from the place the wedding had been in. She looked around, trying to find a phone she could use. She finally found a small phone near the corner of the bar. She hurried towards it. She put the coins in, she had memorized the girl’s house phone number. She pressed the numbers and waited until someone would answer. She heard the beep.
’’Alice, I didn't do it! i didn't get married to Lucius!’’ Narcissa said into the phone.
‘’Excuse me who are you?’’ A man’s voice answered from the phone. Narcissa didn't expect that.
’’Is this not Alice’s number?’’ Narcissa asked, she was starting to get a little depressed.
’’No, it was. I was her boyfriend, she's dead.’’
