Amelia's Headache
Harry does and as he’s leaving he hears several voices asking Dumbledore questions.
“I thought you’d said you were Mr Potter’s guardian?”
“Isn’t that why you have the Potter’s voting rights?”
“I doubt he has them anymore though.”
Harry winces at the last comment, that’s definitely going to have the old man asking questions.

Amelia’s POV
When Amelia woke up this morning she did not think her day was going to go like this. She did not think she’d be called to a last minute Wizengamot trial. She did not think that trial would be for underage magic of all things. She did not think the trial would be for Harry Potter, the boy who lived or the boy who lies according to the Daily Prophet.
Amelia has to fight not to snort at that as she walks Lord Potter and Miss Vane down the corridors towards the DMLE offices. She’s never trusted that paper, too much like a gossip magazine for her tastes. Unfortunately her niece Susan eats it up, so they still have a subscription to that horrid paper.
But most importantly, Amelia did not think she’d start worrying about the home life of Harry Potter. After all they all knew that Harry had been raised healthy and happy, right? Except the moment that Miss Vane asked where Madam Umbridge got that information, Amelia realised the mistake she and others had made. They believed rumours, rumours that had most likely come from the very fictitious books that supposedly recounted Lord Potter’s early years of life.
So Amelia had immediately discounted all those supposedly known facts about one Hadrian Potter from her head and had started watching and listening instead. She saw nothing of value during the trial it wasn’t until Albus Dumbledore came storming into the room that she started picking up on things. It helped that she had Miss Vane standing next to her, pointing things out.
Like the way Hadrian almost flinched at being called ‘boy’. The way Hadrian had taken a step backwards when Dumbledore had moved to place his hand on his shoulder. The way Hadrian didn’t know his own name was Hadrian, the way the court itself didn’t know that his full name was Hadrian. And most damningly, the way Dumbledore didn’t tell Hadrian that he was Hadrian’s magical guardian, because Amelia knows that the man was. She had checked over the documents given to the court before the trial after all.
Now, Amelia has never liked Dumbledore. Not for a second. He’s always been too pompous, ignorant and fake for her to take him seriously. And the fact that he used to be the head of the Wizengamot and Supreme Mugwump, made her always angry and nervous. Because he’d never used his power in any productive way. Instead he’d hem and haw over proceedings and act like everyones grandfather even if he himself was younger than one of the lords or ladies present.
Seeing him use the same Grandfatherly ‘charm’ on Hadrian sent up strong alarm bells in her head and she couldn’t be sure why. And then there was the way Hadrian had acted around Dumbledore. Amelia had seen the shift in stance and facial expression. Everyone had except Dumbledore himself. It had been so quick and so well done. Only those used to having to wear masks would be able to do that so well and so quickly. Hadrian is a boy of 15 he should not be able to pull off and switch masks like it’s a professional sport. It does not speak kindly to how Lord Potter was raised and Amelia will be looking into it.
Amelia opens her office door and ushers Hadrian and Miss Vane inside before closing and locking the door. She even goes so far as to make sure that the privacy spell and runes are all working correctly. Once she’s certain they are she turns to find Lord Potter and Miss Vane sitting calmly, waiting for her to finish.
“Checking the privacy spells Amelia? Not scared I’ll try to take you out in the privacy of your office?” Miss Vane says, straight faced.
If Hadrian is taken aback he does not show it, but his eyes do shift between the two of them.
Amelia snorts, “I can take you any day of the week Rory.”
Aurora smiles at her warmly before her face goes back to professionalism. It’s one of the many things Amelia likes about Rory, her ability to tease one moment and then get back to work the next. Amelia walks over to her side of the desk, removing her ugly Wizengamot robe and hanging it before taking her seat.
“Now, what is this meeting about? I assume something to do with why you cast a Patronus charm near your…cousin was it?” Amelia questions.
“That is one of the reasons for this meeting.” Miss Vane nods. “The others are to do with Cedric Diggory’s death and Sirius Black.”
Now that has Amelia intrigued. She’d been wanting to interview Hadrian about Cedric Diggory’s death ever since it happened. The Minister however…he makes it so difficult for her to do her job. And then Sirius Black, she knows from the Minister’s obnoxious chuckling during the year Sirius Black escaped that Hadrian believes the man innocent. Guess she finally gets to know why.
“Go on.” Amelia urges.
Rory looks over at Harry and nods.
“I understand if you don’t believe me straight away but I’d like for you to at least listen to what I say.” Hadrian starts.
“Fair enough.” Amelia agrees.
“I cast the Patronus charm because there were two dementors in Little Whinging. I was just protecting myself and my cousin. Now I understand that is going to be hard to believe on account of my cousin being a muggle and therefore unable to see dementors. However I am willing to show my memory or even take Veritaserum during a trial.” Hadrian informs.
“You are right, that is hard to believe.” Amelia admits and Rory opens her mouth to say something but she holds her hand up to stop her. “However, Miss Vane did point out a very good bit of information. The trace was gone from your wand, for that farce of a trial to have happened, someone would have had to be following you. They would also have had to make sure you actually cast magic as well.”
“Madam Bones, that does leave us with a major issue though. For anyone to do either of these things they would have to be ministry officials and very high up ones at that.” Miss Vane points out.
Amelia sighs, she can already feel the headache that is going to come with investigating this.
“Yes, I’m aware. But I can assure you Lord Potter, I will be looking into this. For someone to command the dementors there has to be a paper trail.” Amelia assures.
“Would there be a paper trail for how I came under my aunts care?” Hadrian asks.
“Of course.” Amelia answers a bit confused.
She watches as Harry sends Rory a look. She nods before writing it down.
“Now.” Miss Vane starts “My client has informed me of the fact that they haven’t been interviewed about the tragic murder of Cedric Diggory. We thought it best to come forwards ourselves to help the investigation.”
That has Amelia fighting between leaning forwards and slumping in her seat.
“It was a murder?” Amelia checks, looking at Hadrian.
“Yes, my client witnessed it himself.” Miss Vane states before looking Amelia over and furrowing her brow, “There is a case on going about Cedric Diggory’s death, isn’t there?”
“No there is not.” Amelia admits angrily. “The Minister did not believe his death required any investigation. ‘A clear open and shut case’ he said, ‘An obvious accident’.”
Hadrian looks furious at that and Miss Vane places a hand on his arm to get him to start breathing again.
“However, if a witness were to come forwards with a differing story, I’d be forced as the head of the DMLE to open a case no matter what the Minister said.” Amelia states pointedly.
Rory nods at Harry.
“It was the last task of Triwizard Tournament.” Hadrian starts but Amelia quickly cuts him off.
“Hold on.” Amelia pulls out a self writing quill and a long roll of parchment. “Okay, state your full name, age and relationship to the deceased.”
“Hadrian James Potter, 15 and Cedric Diggory was a friend.” Hadrian chokes up slightly on the word ‘friend’.
“Okay, please tell me what happened the night of Cedric’s death.” Amelia instructs.
“It was the last task of the Triwizard Tournament.” Harry repeats. “Cedric and I were the first to enter the maze. We almost immediately split up and didn’t see each other for the rest of the task, until we were both forced to work together to defeat an Acromantula. Then we finished the last task together, we arrived at the center with the cup. We argued over who would take the cup.”
“When you say argued…” Amelia queries.
She doesn’t believe she’s about he hear a confession but it’s always best to get all the facts.
“I mean Cedric thought I should take it and I thought Cedric deserved it more as he was the actual Hogwarts Champion.” Hadrian states.
“Please continue.” Amelia prompts.
“We decided that we’d take the cup at the same time. We counted to three and then grabbed the cup. The cup was a portkey, but it should have taken us back to Hogwarts. Instead we ended up in a graveyard. I don’t know where exactly. But one of the graves read Tom Riddle if that helps at all. We were confused and both of us immediately drew our wands. Next thing I know I’m flying across the grave yard. I land, hard and disorientated. When I look over I see Cedric dueling with a Peter Pettigrew.” Hadrian informs.
“Peter Pettigrew is dead. Sirius Black killed him.” Amelia states and looks over at Rory.
“My client is willing to repeat this under Veritaserum in front of the Wizengamot.” Rory offers.
And that leaves Amelia feeling a little more than thrown off.
“Can I continue?” Hadrian inquires.
“Yes.” Amelia chokes out.
“I had managed to return to my feet during this time. But I had dropped my wand on account of being thrown. So I was carefully moving back to it when Pettigrew threw the killing curse. Cedric was dead before I managed to make it to my wand. I hid behind a grave, I managed to accio my wand over to me whilst Pettigrew was searching for me. He kept shouting about finishing what he’d started with my parents.” Harry reveals.
And that brings Amelia up short. She’s going to have to look into Sirius Black’s trial, was it a frame job or did the two men work together?
“I knew I could accio the cup to me and get back to Hogwarts but I just…I couldn’t…I couldn’t leave Cedric there. So when I was certain that Pettigrew was looking in the opposite direction, I ran. I ran to Cedric’s body and called for the cup. And then we were both back at Hogwarts and I believe you know the rest.” Harry finishes.
“Just so I’m clear, because there have been a lot of rumours flying about. Peter Pettigrew killed Cedric Diggory?” Amelia asks.
“Yes.” Harry nods.
“At no point in time was…” Amelia stops before pushing through, “Voldemort there?”
“No.” Harry states.
“There was no resurrection ritual to bring Voldemort back to life?” Amelia double checks.
“No.” Harry answers again.
Amelia stops the quill, putting it back in her draw and the long parchment on her desk before turning back to Hadrian.
“Then have you being claiming such?” Amelia inquires.
“You’ll find, Madam Bones, that my client has not in fact been claiming anything. Dumbledore has been claiming a great many things in my clients name, but at no point has my client ever said that Voldemort was alive.” Rory tells her.
“The Daily Prophet have been saying otherwise.” Amelia points out.
She watches as her dear friends face changes from calm and relaxed to smiling devilishly.
“And we will be dealing them post haste. In fact we’ve already got someone on it.” Rory informs.
“Marcus?” Amelia checks.
“Who else?” Rory scoffs.
Amelia smiles at that before turning back to Lord Potter.
“You said you wished to talk about Sirius Black?” Amelia prompts.
“Yes. My client would like to have a conversation with you about his magically blood adopted godfather.” Miss Vane states clearly.
Amelia’s eyes go wide as she looks over at Harry.
“And you’re sure about that?” She checks.
“Yes, I, however am unable to prove it.” Hadrian admits.
“No, I don’t imagine you could…but…” Amelia starts doing some math in her head. “I could. I would need some of you blood to test against Sirius Blacks, from when he had his last medical evaluation when he worked here.”
“Of course, but I will need you to sign a magically binding contract stating that my blood will only be used for that purpose and any blood left over will be immediately destroyed.” Hadrian states.
“You think someone would use your blood against you? That’s black magic.” Amelia says.
“And someone at the ministry just tried to have me killed. Better safe than sorry.” Hadrian remarks.
“Then I would be willing to sign any document written up by your lawyers.” Amelia agrees.
“Perfect.” Rory states before handing over a piece of parchment.
“You are always so prepared.” Amelia huffs a laugh.
“Like you aren’t.” Rory chuckles.
Amelia signs the document after reading through it, she passes it over to Hadrian. He also reads through it first before nodding and signing. Once that’s completed, he hands over the parchment to Rory and then pulls a vial of his blood out the pocket of his robe. He hands the corked vial over. Amelia places it carefully in one of her desk draws, to uncork and test later when she has all necessary paperwork drawn up.
“Back on topic, if there is proof of this blood adoption then it means Sirius Black did not betray the Potter’s for it would have stripped him of his magic.” Rory points out.
“But that isn’t what he was charged with, he was charged with the murder of the muggles and Petter Pettigrew.” Amelia reminds.
“Yes, and now you have a statement claiming Pettigrew is still alive and the possibility that Sirius Black didn’t do all that he was accused of, giving proper reason for a new trial.” Miss Vane smirks before continuing, “If he even had a trial to begin with.”
Amelia freezes.
“Are you suggesting that not only is Sirius Black innocent but he’s also the victim of improper handling by the Ministry?” Amelia questions.
Hadrian snorts, “Nothing improper about it, malicious handling.”
“You think someone put Sirius Black behind bars on purpose?” Amelia feels light headed.
“How else would the Ministry get it’s hand on the Black funds? They’d already put Bellatrix behind bars. Most of everyone else was dead, married or struck off the family tree and disowned.” Rory shrugs.
“But they didn’t. I would know if we got our hands on the Black estate.” Amelia says, desperately hoping that is true.
“I’m unsure if its the Ministry, but someone has been siphoning money from the Black vaults.” Hadrian informs.
“How would…If you’re Sirius Black’s godson and Sirius Black was innocent, he’d still be eligible to be Lord Black and you are therefore the heir. Which means you can see the statements for the Black vaults.” Amelia realises.
“Precisely.” Both Rory and Lord Potter look so smug at her words.
“Oh god, the ministry put an innocent man in Azkaban.” Amelia can’t help but gasp before she realises something else. “And I have to prove it. Damn it Rory!”
Miss Vane chuckles leaning back smugly in her chair.
“Well, I believe that’s all we’ve got to talk about at this moment of time.” Rory looks over at Lord Potter to be certain.
“Yes I believe so.” Hadrian agrees. “Now I really must be going, this took slightly longer than expected and I’m sure Mr Weasley is worrying.”
“Arthur?” Amelia can’t help but question.
“I’m staying with the Weasley’s for the rest of the summer.” Hadrian informs. “It was lovely meeting you Madam Bones.”
“And you Lord Potter.” Amelia says.
She watches as he stands, turns and exits her office. It isn’t until the door closes behind him that she turns to face her life long best friend.
“You bitch.” Amelia snaps.
Rory cackles.

Harry’s POV
Harry walks through the Ministry hallways towards the elevator as he thinks over the meeting. Harry knew the likely storm that would arise from all he’s doing. Getting emancipated, revealing he’s Lord Potter now, revealing he’s heir Black, even if only to madam Bones. Stating that Voldemort did not return, Sirius is innocent and Pettigrew is alive. Harry just hopes that all his effort will mean that Sirius is pronounced innocent before new years.
One thing Harry isn’t looking forwards too is Dumbledore’s reaction to his emancipation. The old man will know that means he can’t steal money from Harry anymore. The Goblins won’t allow it. But he’ll believe Harry oblivious to Dumbledore using his Wizengamot seats. Except now Dumbledore lied about being Harry’s magical guardian in front of the Wizengamot, meaning he won’t be able to use them unless he lies again. But Harry can always innocently question the man, stating that someone else mentioned the seats to him.
He gets to the elevator, pushes the button and waits. As he’s waiting he hears the familiar sound of foot steps and cane combo. Harry doesn’t even need to turn around to know Lucius Malfoy is walking up behind him. Harry doesn’t turn at the sound even if he really wants to. The man is apparently his future father-in-law, he’s also the man that attempted to kill him over a house elf. In the middle of the school hallway, just outside of Dumbledore’s office…huh.
“Lord Potter.” Lucius greets as he finally stand besides him.
“Lord Malfoy.” Harry nods politely at the man.
They stay standing in the silence whilst waiting for the elevator to arrive. Soon it does and they both get on and Harry’s brain blanks. Which button for the lobby? They went down when the first arrived here, so up is the way to go but how far up. Ground level? The first floor? Harry had been far too focused on speaking with Miss Vane and Arthur to truly pay attention to much else. Harry really needs to work on his ability to focus on more than just one thing.
“I believe Mr Weasley is waiting for you on the ground floor.” Lucius informs as he presses that button.
“Thank you Lord Malfoy. I’m always seeming to get lost in new buildings.” Harry carefully jokes.
“Yes I heard you were late to your first lesson at Hogwarts too.” Lucius states.
Harry can’t tell if that’s a dig or just Lucius attempting polite conversation. So instead of saying anything he stays silent and waits. He’s not disappointed as Lucius goes on.
“With the youngest Weasley boy too, if my mind recalls correctly. You are constantly surrounded by Weasley’s are you not, Lord Potter?” Lucius continues.
“Some things change with time. Though it is hard to make more friends when most of the school look at you like you hung the stars and the rest treat you like the worst person alive.” Is all Harry says on the matter before he decides to try and settle some of his own curiosity. “I heard you have a guest over, recently returned to England after years abroad. How are they handling the change in weather?”
Lucius side eyes him but still answers. “They are doing quite well, Lord Potter. I believe they are having more trouble with the food than the weather.”
“I can imagine.” Harry hums.
Going from a wraith to a snake to the back of a mans head, to a wraith to whatever baby looking abomination he was and then snake man. Must be dreadful on the internal organs.
“I do have a question regarding the trial, Lord potter, if you’d permit me to ask.” Lucius states.
“Please go ahead, but I may not answer.” Harry warns.
“Of course, the spell you cast was the Patronus charm. Was it corporeal? And if so may I know what shape it takes?” Lucius questions.
Harry thinks over his response and whether he should answer or not. He doesn’t see the harm but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t any. Maybe Lucius is trying to work out Harry’s magical abilities after all the Patronus charm is a very difficult spell to cast. But Harry had a very good teacher and a lot of motivation. He comes to his decision as the elevator dings and the doors open. He walks out and Lucius follows. Harry turns to the man.
“A stag. Well met Lord Malfoy.” He answers with a coy smirk before turning back.
“Well met Lord Potter.” He hears from behind him and the the sound of footsteps plus cane retreating.
He quickly finds Arthur Weasley, who is staring at him wide eyed from across the room. Harry smiles boyishly at the older man and walks over.
“I’m so sorry you had to wait so long.” Harry apologises.
“It’s no problem Harry, Dumbledore informed me that Madam Bones needed you for some paperwork. And then I assume Lucius…I mean Lord Malfoy wished to speak with you?” Arthur questions hesitantly.
“Oh no, we meet at the elevators. It was a fairly quiet ride up. Just asked me about school.” Harry lies.
“Okay, well we should be off now then if all is well and over with. Dumbledore told me he wishes to speak with you when we get back to the house.” Mr Weasley informs.
Yay, Harry thinks sarcastically.
“Then we best be off.” Harry says.
#####
Before Harry entered Grimmauld Place he plastered a happy smile across his face. He also couldn’t help but gently brush his hand against the robe’s pocket, just to be sure he had his wand available if it truly came to that. He knew logically it likely wouldn’t, not with that many witnesses. Not with Sirius, Remus, Hermione and the twins present. Not with Arthur standing at his back, if Bill is to be believed about his father.
Harry walks into the house, past the muffled screaming painting and into the living room.. He finds the room filled with people including Dumbledore. Everyone looks contrite and disappointed whilst Dumbledore has his grandfatherly face on. It makes something within Harry squirm, Harry ignores it and instead turns to look at Sirius and Remus. They are the only ones looking confused and suspicious, obviously not believing whatever it is Dumbledore has told everyone present.
“I won.” Harry informs, “And it was really easy too, especially after Miss Vane pointed out there idiocy. Thank you again Sirius for reading through that contract and explaining it to me.”
“Harry.” Hermione’s says barely above a whisper.
Harry turns to face her and finally acts like he can see the tension in the room.
“What’s wrong? Why do you all look like someone died?” Harry questions.
Hermione goes to say something but Dumbledore stops her with a wave of his hand.
“I want to start with congratulating you on winning the trial Harry. However I cannot congratulate you on the way you did so.” Dumbledore says.
“What do you mean, headmaster?” Harry inquires.
Come on old man, dig yourself a hole.
“Lying to the Wizengamot. Creating fake documents, hiring a clearly illegitimate lawyer. Harry you must know that these type of things come to light eventually. And when that happens you could lose your wand and be expelled.” Dumbledore informs.
“I’m sorry headmaster but I have no idea what you are on about?” Harry pushes further.
“Harry, you told the Wizengamot that you are emancipated.” Hermione speaks up.
“Honestly Harry dear, what where you thinking?” Molly adds, shaking her head.
“Hold on now.” Remus jumps in. “Sirius himself read through that contract. It was for a reputable firm, they wouldn’t lie to the Wizengamot and neither would Harry.”
“Like we can trust Sirius’ judgement on this, it was probably his idea in the first place.” Molly huffs.
“Molly! I personally met Miss Vane and she every definition of the proper lawyer.” Arthur scolds.
“Miss Vane? Miss Aurora Vane? Well then it’s no wonder she’d lie to the Wizengamot, she’s a slytherin.” Tonks remarks “She’s always demolishing my cases and setting criminals free.”
“Hey!” the twins snap. “Just because you’re apparently bad at your job…”
“Be quiet!” Molly hisses at the twins.
“Enough!” Dumbledore bellows causing everyone to quiet. “Harry what do you have to say for yourself?”
“Nothing, I didn’t lie.” Harry states.
“Oh Harry.” Hermione sighs. “Was this the lawyer’s idea? Did they tell you, you were emancipated? Harry you can’t get emancipated unless the Ministry allows it.
“And they did.” Harry states and even Sirius and Remus look doubtful. “No seriously they did. When my name was expelled from the Goblet of Fire. The Ministry could have stopped my participation. But they didn’t. They allowed me to join a tournament that has always been specified as for magic users 17 and older. Aka the legal age. So when they not only allowed but basically forced me to participate I was considered a legal adult by magical standards with the ministry signing off on their agreement to this.”
“That’s brilliant Harry.” Sirius laughs. “Got the Minister’s face when that was pointed out to him must have been priceless.”
Harry smiles at his godfather before looking around the room.
The twins and Hermione look relieved. Ron, Ginny and Molly look horrified, likely realising that their ability to siphon money from him has stopped. Tonks doesn’t seem to care too much. Sirius and Remus are smiling happily at him. And Dumbledore has frozen. And god does Harry want to poke the bear…so he does.
“I have a question though headmaster. During the trial today, the Minister tried to disprove my emancipation by saying that you, my magical guardian had lied to me about it. But then when you came into the court room, you claimed you weren’t my magical guardian. At first I thought the Minister was just mistaken, he doesn’t seem like a very smart man after all. But when I was speaking with madam Bones she mentioned that you had been using my Wizengamot seats. And she explained that only my magical guardian could do that. So I’m just a bit confused. Are you my magical guardian or not?” Harry questions.
He makes sure that he looks the picture perfect definition of innocent as everyone seems to take in exactly what he just said. Sirius and Remus look furious as do the twins and Hermione. Molly and the younger Weasley’s look nervous as does Tonks.
Dumbledore gives a loud sigh and looks like he’s going to answer when something makes noise within his pocket.
“Oh look at the time, I must be off I have paperwork to finish before our Order meeting tonight.” Dumbledore toddles off out the room at a fairly quick speed that suggests he’s running away from having to answer his question.
Harry call bullshit on him having paperwork to complete, everyone at Hogwarts knows that McGonagall does all the paperwork. Dumbledore likely has whatever made that noise spelled so he could activate it at any time. Sneaky bastard.
“Tell me how the trial went Harry.” Sirius says.
“Oh us too!” the twins cry.
“And please tell me how a simple matter of apparent underage magic ends up in front of the Wizengamot.” Hermione adds. “And then tell me about these seats you apparently have on said Wizengamot.”
“Sure.” Harry agrees as he moves to sit down with them. “What would you like to hear first? How the Minister didn’t think I could pay for Miss Vane as my lawyer. Them getting my first name wrong, leading to me finding out that Harry isn’t my actual first name, or the moment the Wizengamot learnt I was raised by muggles.”
“Harry isn’t your first name?” Hermione asks.
“Of course not.” Sirius replies. “Harry’s a member of the sacred twenty eight and therefore must have a poncy name that goes with that status. Hadrian fits that perfectly.”
“I had no idea you didn’t know your first name Harry.” Remus sounds aghast.
“For the first few years of my life I thought I was called boy. It wasn’t until primary school that I was first called Harry, no one had ever called me Hadrian before or at least not to my knowledge. I’m not even sure my school paperwork has the name Hadrian written down.” Harry admits.
“That’s awful Harry, if you actual name isn’t written on your paperwork then all of your schooling could be rendered obsolete.” Hermione worries before catching the looks. “And obviously what your relatives called you is awful too.”
“How did the Wizengamot react when they learnt you were raised by muggles?” George inquires.
“Outrage. Some pink toad of a woman tried to discount the very notion I was raised by muggles but when Miss Vane pointed out that the Minister himself knew…I’ve never seen so many adults get that upset.” Harry chuckles.
“What’s wrong with getting raised by muggles?” Hermione asks, offended.
“Nothing.” The Fred assure. “It’s just that the rumours for Harry’s whole life has been that he was raised in the lap of luxury. Being taught magic by the best of the best. So learning that is in fact false and that Harry was raised with no knowledge of the magical world…fireworks.”
“I bet that by the time you get to Hogwarts the knowledge you were raised by muggles is going to be well known and all those that used to snub you will suddenly want to talk to you.” George says.
“Just because I was raised by muggles?” Harry questions skeptically.
“No…well yes.” Fred starts but stops.
“I think what Fred and George are trying to say Harry, is that all the purebloods believed you were raised like them and should therefore act like them. And then when you didn’t they thought the worst but know they have new information and will be second guessing their previous interactions with you.” Remus suggests.
“When you say the worst…what do you mean?” Harry questions.
“I couldn’t tell you Harry. I was a teacher not a student.” Remus shrugs.
Harry turns to the twins.
“Sorry Harry, we aren’t considered a part of the purebloods even if we are technically. We don’t get to hear all the gossip.” The twins admit.
“Oh I know! We should ask Nevile when we’re on the train. He’s a pureblood, he should know.” Hermione suggests.
“Great, now I just have to wait a few more days to learn exactly what everyone thinks of me.” Harry groans.
