Bangs
Regulus felt left with her thoughts ever since Sirius had been summoned upstairs, her hair shortly sprung back to its usual ringlet self after Sirius had gone our of view, she pinned her bangs behind her ear as she reminisced the times she had first gotten them.
It was one of her most memorable nights with Sirius or overall if she must admit - Regulus being eight, Sirius nine - they had spent most of the day together as they had secretly took their mother and fathers wand from them saying random words and hoping that it would do something, it continuously failed until Sirius had made the decision they would sneak into their parents room when it deemed midnight and find the special book that they had always observed that their parents would flick through, midnight was dramatic and awfully late for the both of them so Regulus just smiled and said how about the library, Sirius objected as predicted, he always did have to make times more interesting.
Furthermore they decided it ultimately would be smarter to just go now much against Sirius's protests, hoping their parents wouldn't be standing near the door and if they were they had decided the sacrifice would be Regulus requesting something - they hadn't got far enough in the plan to decide what - and while that happened Sirius would sneak around looking for the book.
As they stepped foot into their parents room they noticed there was no sign of them, Sirius let out a breath of excitement as Regulus huffed dramatically hiding the fact she too was ready for this, Sirius could read her like a book. "I look here," he said exaggerating a point to the left side of the room "you look here," Sirius bossed, pointing to the right side of the room.
"Yes Brother," she rolled her eyes as a smile crept to her lips, she rummaged around her corner of the room making sure to perfect every misplaced item. "No sight of the book." Regulus stated, glancing over to her brother and watching him, too, look everywhere. "Me either dear Reggie," he shrugged, going over to Regulus's corner to doublecheck she actually looked.
He barged past her forgetting how frail she was as she tumbled to the floor, "My bad."
"It was." Regulus replied almost instantly, Sirius huffed a laugh before he bent down to help her up, she had a petty expression on her face symbolising she was about to push him down with her, like an open book Reg was, he chuckled harder to himself.
"Oh shut up Siri." Regulus huffed mentally preparing for Sirius's incoming over exaggeration, as expected a gasp came from Sirius's mouth, "Such rude words." He muttered to himself purposefully making sure she heard.
Rolling her eyes, she put a hand up for Sirius to drag and get her onto her own two feet. Sirius pouted crouching down and grabbing the arm as Regulus made a pretty pathetic attempt to pull him down with her, flushing red when she realised she was incapable of it. Sirius then dropped her arm rather abruptly, nudging her backwards as she landed on a hard piece of some sort of wood.
Sirius had an apologetic smug smile on his face knowing his petty self got his way once again, how aggravating it is to boost an ego that's capable of exploding.
"Thanks a lot brother," stated Regulus as she rubbed her head and kneeled on her two knees, could've been a rougher fall.
"Anytime," He beamed as he actually helped his sister by dragging her legs forward as she sat heir-like letting him do it for her, prick. She lifted up smacking his head lightly not fighting back as he assumed her fall was a lot less minor than a flick on the head.
Regulus brushed down her clothes as she stood back up, turning around she noticed a hard-cover book titled: '136 Pages of pure Wizardry & Witchery.'
"Is this the book?" Regulus asked, her pride on display for have found it before Sirius had.
Sirius patted her head, "Well done Reg now open open open!" Wasting no seconds Sirius had grabbed the other end of the book ripping it open as Reg kicked her head back fondly, he started reading the bold words out loud: 'From hair charms to Unforgiveables'
"Unforgiveable what's that?" He asked peeking with glee.
"Sounds bland." Regulus stated with a shrug, the brother rolled his eyes.
"Hate to say it's not food so it's not going to have flavour dear sister, but fine lets skip straight to hair charms!"
"Who's hair are we putting on offer?" Reg asked sceptically, Sirius pondered the question debating a way to convince her.
He stared at her defined shag of black mid-length curls, "wellllllllll..." He pleads, dragging out the L.
Regulus stills debating it before a quick, "no."
"My hair's too dull!" Which was true, it was black, ear-length growing rapidly and a mix of wavy and straight. As Regulus sighed Sirius brightened, instant yes!
"Fine," she says, folding her arms in a tight not, 'fine' Sirius mimics her as he hears a chuckle escape her mouth.
Sirius really was the bubbliness part to her sorrows.
The first page had a bright pink glow to it, noticing her brothers grin she quickly shook her head so hard braincells could be lost.
"Yep we are doing this 100% don't try to fight it." he said or demanded grabbing hold of her wrists as she went over every variation of 'no' there was.
"That would be a horror to the human eyes." She declared with a loud sigh, Sirius nudged her being careful not to knock her to the floor again.
"Little miss all inclusive, 'house-elves are human' just forgot to include them in a sentence!" Reluctantly smiling, Regulus pushed him hating how he acknowledged every little thing.
"Next page!"
"A bang charm? seems simple but I do hope it's not too bland for you," Sirius mocked, not to be too big for his boots but even at his young age he assumes that it'll be pretty easy to do because of all his mothers future heir practise.
"Oh my merlin how you get under my fingernails," She grumbled, Sirius softened but masked it as a reflex, he adored her vocabulary and the way she would structure it, in response he put his hands on his hips giving her a pointed -respect your elders- look.
"Oh dear sister must I request you shut that ongoing gob of yours and stay still so I can do this spell?" He pleaded putting on puppy eyes ad mimicking her voice in a higher pitch tone.
She put her hands in the air doing a pre-strangle gesture towards Sirius before stilling like a statue.
Sirius eyes flickered over the page of words within seconds, he was much more advanced with these things than he thought she could ever be, his practise of ruling the Black family one day never failed to come in handy in the Black household. Not that Reg wasn't smart, Of course she was as he enjoyed telling her every single thing he got taught but she wasn't exactly caught up in English, she knew the proper words but her sentences were commonly misarranged as their parents believed all her worth was is beauty.
"Okay well here it goes, hold your toes in hope."
He points the wand at her before screaming a word she couldn't make out, he gave it a millisecond before repeating to himself. He paused staring at her as her eyes remained pinned shut, waiting, tick of clock, waiting, "woah."
Her eyes open instantly not knowing what to make out of his previous wording, "Woah? Mirror now!"
Sirius rummaged for the one next to him handing it to her until he broke into a smile, "It worked!"
She looked at herself, rubbing her forehead, "It did."
Her Black ringlet fringe reached the top of her eyebrow, it framed her perfectly making the grey in her eyes shine and made the scar she hated that was small placed delicately on her jawline look like it's fading, it looked 'cutie' as Sirius would put it.
Her hair was near to her waistline, Black, shaggy but neat, thick, the ringlet type of curly and just playful, it connected to the fringe as if she was deemed to have it since birth.
"Reggieeeee!!" Sirius said clearly wanting to be thanked, she pulled a mock face at him before letting it get replaced by a smile, "thank you, brother." She said.
"You are so very welcome, today was perfecto." Sirius joked as she let out a laugh, Regulus was happy about spending time with her brother but also knew what was about to come from their parents.
.
She never did get rid of them bangs.
"Girl!"
"Stupid Girl!" She heard, snapping her head up. She was sat in the middle of the room, a room, everyone facing her: Walburga (her mother), Orion (her father), the house-elf Reg used to very much adore and her elder brother, Sirius Black.
