The Yule Ball
Felix realized that he might have gone a bit too overboard when he presented the corsage to Minho.
It was the day of the Yule Ball, and they were all dressed and ready to go, but first they had all agreed to meet at the common room of the Ravenclaw Towers before heading out together.
Minho had taken the 'dress to impress' rule for the ball to heart, because he had surpassed even Felix's highest expectations. Felix had spent a lot of time fantasizing and daydreaming what Minho would wear for the ball or what he would look like in his robes.
What he saw before him, put all of his fantasies to shame.
He had never thought that someone who was so effortlessly dashing 24/7 could look even more handsome.
It was almost unfair.
His emerald green robes accentuated his sharp features, enhancing his natural beauty to such high levels that Felix couldn’t believe Minho had no Veela blood. Because according to everything Felix had read about the Veela’s, it is usually only them who had the ability or the allure of beauty that was so profound that they could easily manipulate a person’s heart. Felix wondered if those books were wrong, because the wizard before him was doing something to his heart that he didn’t think even a Veela would be capable of doing. Not that he had ever met a Veela ever before—although he had heard that one of the competitors of the Triwizard Tournament was a half-Veela. Felix hadn’t felt any sort of allure from her whenever he saw her, though.
But from Minho?
He had.
Felix looked around the room, wondering how no one else wasn’t immediately falling for Minho as soon as they looked at him. That’s also when he noticed Bang Chan, Seo Changbin, and Hyunjin standing around too, talking to each other, but Felix could care less about them or anyone else’s presence currently. Not when he had the most handsomest person standing right before him.
Felix was climbing down the stairs to the Common Room with his friends following behind him when Minho finally spotted him. It didn’t escape Felix’s notice how the elder Ravenclaw had widened his eyes at the sight of Felix, roaming around his figure, and a blush growing on his cheeks as Felix drew near.
“Beautiful,” Minho whispered, his voice barely audible over the pulsing excitement of the evening as various students shuffled around the Common Room dressed in elegant robes. Felix felt his friends leave his side and walk over to Hyunjin and the two Gryffindors. But Felix had his eyes locked on Minho the entire time and was standing close to him now, so he heard Minho’s words loud and clear.
Felix shyly looked down at himself and smiled at Minho’s earnest compliment. But before he could thank him or appreciate the elder’s looks in turn, Minho gasped before asking, “are you wearing make-up?”
Felix locked eyes with Minho again, feeling a slight pang of apprehension as he didn’t know how Minho would react to the makeup. But Minho’s eyes darkened, if that was possible, as he looked at Felix’s eyeliner with some sort of hunger.
“Only eyeliner,” Felix responded, feeling almost breathless with the way Minho was staring at him.
Felix loved this, the feeling of desire rolling off Minho’s body as he appreciatively gazed at his eyes.
“It’s hot—you…y-you—I mean the eyeliner…” Minho stammered as he tried to get a hold on himself. “It just looks…hot, makes you look like some sort of a rock-star.”
Felix had wanted to squeal in excitement but had somehow managed to restrain himself from doing so and instead whispered, “thank you.”
They were staring at each other silently for a few more seconds before Felix finally remembered the box that he was carrying.
He held it up and opened the lid, his hands shaking as he slowly and carefully took the corsage out of it.
He was nervous, so extremely nervous as he held it up for Minho to see.
That day, after that awful exchange with Eugene Barrett, Felix had somehow managed to stay up the entire night and finish working on the corsage after he had had meticulously healed the burn caused by that idiot—he had to skip some classes in the morning to complete it but Felix could care less about that.
With Hyunjin's help, they had meticulously painted the center flower, the Marigold, in a stunning navy blue hue, leaving the rest of the corsage in its original bronze color. It was Hyunjin’s advice to paint it as such, stating that having just one main element with a pop of color while keeping the rest of it bronze would make the corsage look brilliant.
Hyunjin's advice proved true, as the corsage had turned out to look so elegant that Felix couldn’t help but feel proud of it. Felix had even borrowed a camera from a Gryffindor student named Colin Creevey to take a picture of it and mail it for his Mother to see.
Still, even if his friends and Mother had complimented the heck out of it, Felix couldn’t help but feel extremely nervous about Minho’s reaction to it.
“For you,” Felix said and presented it to him. Waiting for Minho to extend his hand out so Felix could clasp it to his wrist.
Minho’s eyes had widened in shock as he saw the corsage.
“Felix?” Minho asked. “What is this?”
Felix bit his bottom lip, as that wasn’t the response he had expected from Minho to his work. But he fought through the nervousness and said, “your corsage, I made it.”
“You…what?” Minho asked, his voice raising as he looked at it resting on Felix’s hands.
Felix wondered what had warranted such a reaction. He was starting to feel self-conscious.
“I t-transfigured part of these candle holders to make it,” Felix explained, his voice trembling. “I didn’t like any of the options that I had seen from the Muggle catalogs, so I decided to just make one. Hyunjin helped paint it.”
“You made the entire thing?!” Minho asked incredulously. “For me?”
Felix nodded, upset with the reaction, he slowly began to take his offering back. However, Minho suddenly grabbed his hands, preventing Felix from pulling it away, clutching it almost delicately as he kept on staring at the corsage with wide eyes.
“You did all this for me?” Minho asked slowly, almost as if he couldn’t believe it.
“I did,” Felix admitted. “But if you don’t like it then it’s okay, you don’t have to wea—”
“Are you kidding?” Minho exclaimed as he finally took his eyes off the corsage and looked at Felix with pure delight. “This is the most beautiful thing ever and I just can’t….I can’t believe that you made it entirely for me.”
Minho took the corsage out of Felix’s hands, delicately and slowly. Staring at it with pure admiration.
“I-I just can’t believe…” Minho mumbled again as he laughed. “I just can’t believe anyone would go out of their way to do something like that for me—it’s just amazing, Felix—I don’t know what to even say.”
Well…Felix cannot have him think in such a way. Ever.
“I think it’s quite easy for anyone to go out of their way to do something for you,” Felix said softly. “You at least have that effect on me.”
Minho smiled shyly, not quite meeting Felix’s eyes.
Felix slowly took the corsage out of his hands and placed it around the elder’s wrist, clasping it on. Minho continued to stare at it with pure delight and admiration.
“It looks so pretty on you,” Felix whispered.
“Thank you.” Minho said, almost reverently.
But then something flickered in his expression before he was scrambling to hide something behind him.
Felix looked at him questioningly but Minho kept his gaze on the ground, actively trying his best to look anywhere else but him.
“I-I…I’m sorry but,” Minho stammered, looking almost lost on how to get his words out. But Felix patiently waited. “I forgot to buy the corsage for you.”
He said that last sentence in a hurry—said so fast that it would have been almost incomprehensible. But Felix caught the words and couldn’t help but raise his brow at that because he was extremely sure that Minho had been holding a clear plastic box that clearly looked like it had held a green corsage—but was doing his best to hide it from Felix now.
Felix took a step closer and grabbed onto the arm that Minho was hiding behind his back. Minho’s body stiffened.
“Why don’t you want to give it to me?” Felix asked curiously.
Minho sighed, realizing his attempt to hide the box had failed, so he cautiously brought the box into view.
Felix's smile widened as he gazed down at the corsage.
The corsage primarily consisted of two flowers, the Aster and the Morning Glory—Felix's birth flowers—dyed in Slytherin emerald green, silver, and black, perfectly complementing Minho's robes.
It dawned on Felix that they had both chosen their birth flowers for their corsages, making him giddy with joy that they both had decided to do the same thing.
Offering his right hand to Minho, Felix waited for him to fasten it around his wrist.
However, Minho hesitated.
“Felix, this is nothing compared to what you made for me,” Minho said as he pulled the box away. “I just bought it and nothing else, but you went out of your way to do all this…”
It struck Felix then why Minho had reacted the way he had.
He was self-conscious about his gift and wanted to hide it away after seeing what Felix had done. Maybe Felix might have gone a bit too overboard with it?
But Felix still loved Minho’s gift regardless. It looked beautiful, and it reflected the care Minho had put into selecting the specific flowers and dyeing them to match their chosen colors. Moreover, the corsage was buzzing with subtle magical energy that Felix could recognize was Minho’s. Felix couldn’t wait to find out what the magic was for and have his magic encircling around his wrist, tying him down.
Felix told him so. Although he left that last part out and kept that fantasy just for himself—for now at least.
However, Minho still looked hesitant as he nervously bit his lip.
“Don’t compare,” Felix said. “I randomly pick up transfiguration projects all the time—how do you think I’m so good at it already? I just did something that I’m used to doi—”
“It’s still a lot more than what I did,” Minho interrupted.
“Minho, seriously, I don’t want you to think like that.” Felix reassured,“I mean it when I say that I find your corsage very special—I genuinely intend to keep it forever. I can tell that you put in a lot of effort into choosing these specific flowers and colors and it means a lot to me.”
Minho’s eyes softened, his gaze finally lifting up from the floor and meeting Felix’s with gratitude. However, he still made no move to tie it around Felix’s wrist.
Felix sighed before firmly demanding, “Minho, tie it around my wrist. Now.”
Minho’s eyes widened before softly saying, “someone’s very demanding.”
“Better get used to it fast,” Felix said with a shrug and couldn’t help but feel the surge of affection as Minho finally clasped the corsage around Felix’s wrist, his touch tender and sincere.
“Brat,” Minho said under his breath.
Felix didn’t bother hiding the blush spreading across his cheeks when he heard that.
“What’s the magic for?” Felix asked when he felt it pulsing around his wrist. “On the corsage.”
Minho looked at it for a second, taking a few moments to figure out what Felix meant before saying, “Oh, remember at the library you asked if there was a way to preserve the flowers so you could keep it for a long time?”
Felix nodded, recalling that conversation, and then looked down at it with a smile, understanding what Minho was about to say.
“I tried my best to place preservation charms on it,” Minho said. “I’m not sure how many years it will last, but it will definitely last for at least five years.”
“Wow,” Felix whispered. “I can feel your magic pulsing on my wrist. It’s amazing.”
“Oh?” Minho looked almost startled by that news. “I didn’t know about that. I guess I did use a pretty strong spell for that charm.”
“I like it,” Felix whispered, keeping his eyes on Minho and feeling courageous enough to say in a low voice, “it’s like your magic is ensnaring me.”
There was a sudden glint in Minho’s eyes as he remembered what Felix had said a couple of days back.
“You like that, huh?” Minho asked, his voice dropping low as he took a step closer, clutching Felix’s hand and softly tracing his finger down the corsage and onto Felix’s forearm, watching with a smirk as goosebumps started to appear.
Then, as if an idea must have struck Minho, he took a sharp inhale before using that same finger to emit a spark of magic and touching Felix with it.
It was a very soft stinging spell. It didn’t hurt but it did elicit a small gasp out of Felix’s mouth.
Without the use of a wand, the spell was subdued, but even attempting such a direct, specific, and controlled magical act without a wand was considered a remarkable feat.
Felix shuddered as a new sort of hunger overtook him—he had no idea he had a power kink. Because even with such a gentle touch, Minho had displayed significant power.
And Felix craved more of it.
Felix gulped and locked eyes with Minho. There must have been something in Felix’s gaze—something that must have signaled to Minho that he craved for more because without breaking eye-contact, Minho cast another soft stinging spell on Felix's arm.
Felix took a deep breath, trying to restrain himself. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was holding back—perhaps the urge to throw himself onto Minho in front of everyone in the room? But it was becoming increasingly difficult as Minho continued to trace his finger down Felix’s arm, smirking as if he knew he was the predator who had ensnared his prey under his palm.
Felix loved it. He had no idea this would be something he would be into—power play.
Before either of the two could say anything about it though, Jeongin suddenly leapt onto Felix with excitement.
“Are you ready to go to the ball now?” Jeongin asked and then showed off his wrist that was now adorned with a corsage that Seungmin had gifted him.
“Yep,” Felix said after recovering quickly from the effect that Minho had on him. He grabbed hold of Jeongin’s wrist and remarked, “it’s beautiful.”
“Thank you,” Jeongin said before sauntering over to Seungmin and pecking him on the cheek.
Seungmin showed off the corsage on his wrist to Felix as well and Felix smiled appreciatively at him before showing off his own wrist to the two.
“It’s your birth flowers!” Seungmin pointed out and Felix nodded with a blush.
Felix turned to see Minho proudly showing off his own corsage to the two Gryffindors, who were offering words of appreciation for Felix's craftsmanship.
Felix nodded in gratitude before scanning the room, searching for Hyunjin. He wondered how his friend had reacted to seeing Minho's Slytherin green robes.
That’s when he spotted them: Jisung and Hyunjin, standing next to each other. They were both staring at each other but not really at the same time. Their gazes darted everywhere except towards each other but subtly made their way back to staring at each other. It was clear to anyone present that they were both enamored, yet somehow oblivious to each other's feelings.
However, it was the first time Felix had seen them standing so close without exchanging insults, which was honestly a significant step forward for whatever their relationship was. It also explained why Hyunjin hadn’t completely fanboyed over Minho's robes—he was too preoccupied trying not to ogle Jisung in his fancy attire.
Felix couldn’t help but chuckle at that.
Minho raised his brow questioningly at him but Felix just shook his head and told him he would fill him in later.
Minho nodded before extending his hand out to Felix.
Felix stared at it for a second before grabbing hold of his hand, feeling his face flush again.
“Let’s go?” Minho asked the group as he gently pulled Felix closer to him.
The Yule Ball took place in the grand Great Hall, and as they entered, it was like stepping into a winter wonderland.
Instead of the usual dining tables, there was a spacious dance floor, with a few cozy tables on the side for those who needed a break or wanted to enjoy some refreshments.
The walls were adorned with shimmering silver frost, and the ceiling was decked out with garlands of mistletoe and ivy. The lighting was soft and warm, creating a cozy yet festive atmosphere.
Magical snowflakes fell from above, but they never quite reached the floor, adding to the enchantment of the evening. It was a scene straight out of a fairy tale, and everyone couldn't help but be swept away by the magic of it all.
In the beginning, all eight of them stuck together, enjoying drinks and sharing a meal at the same table. Chan had to leave at the very start though, to join all the other Triwizard competitors so he could make an extravagant entry with them and start the formal dance with a partner, which just so happened to be Changbin.
Minho looked extremely happy for the two.
After that, all eight of them got together once again, continuing to drink and eat. They all laughed at jokes, shared stories, and tried to really get to know each other.
Throughout it all, Minho stayed by Felix's side, leaning in to catch every word Felix uttered. He even caught the quiet murmurs and chuckled along if Felix made a joke under his breath, prompting curious glances from the others until Minho explained it was something Felix had said, which was when Jeongin or Jisung would send a teasing smile to Felix.
It was comforting to sit among such lively and boisterous company, yet still feel heard because of Minho's attentive presence. He made sure Felix's voice was never drowned out, even nudging the conversation back to Felix if someone got swept up in a conversation and accidentally interrupted him.
He couldn’t help but bask in the warmth of Minho's undivided attention.
Felix loved it.
He loved it even more when they all finally separated and began dancing.
Minho shared that he had taken dancing classes during summer breaks back home and had developed a fondness for it. While Felix explained that learning to dance was a requirement for all ancient wizarding families to host balls, making it a familiar skill for him as well. Because of that, they were able to effortlessly fall into step together and dance.
As they danced, they were so close that every nerve in Felix's body seemed to ignite with warmth. His waist, in particular, felt like it was burning from Minho's firm yet gentle grip on it as he guided them through each step.
It was so lovely that Felix wished he could just stay there and dance with Minho forever.
They stayed like that for a while, dancing to both slow and upbeat songs. Talking while they could but remaining mostly in a peaceful silence as they just enjoyed dancing with each other.
They decided to take a break when another energetic song began to play and walked over to their table to get a drink.
That’s when Felix noticed that none of their friends were occupying the table anymore. He looked around and noticed that Jeongin and Seungmin were together, swaying to the music while clinging onto each other. Chan and Changbin were together with some of their other Gryffindor friends, laughing as they all danced some sort of a comedic and weird dance move. Jisung and Hyunjin were the only ones missing.
Felix looked around more but couldn’t find them at all.
“It’s getting a little hot here, do you want to take a walk around the courtyard for a bit?” Minho asked as he unbuttoned his outer robe while trying to fan some of the sweat off his neck.
Felix watched him do that with rapt attention and asked, “isn’t that where all the couples go for a hook-up?”
Minho paused, his gaze darkening as he nodded. "It is."
"So..." Felix began, taking a step closer and helping Minho in unbuttoning the abandoned button of his robes. Unbuttoning it as slowly as possible and smiling as he noticed Minho watching his movements, he asked, "Is that what you're asking for us to do?"
Looking down at Felix, Minho's eyes held hunger, but he didn't flirt back. Instead, he softly replied, "We don't have to do anything. We could just walk and talk if you want."
"What if I want more than that?" Felix pressed.
Minho took a sharp breath in before taking hold of Felix's hand and leading him out of the hall. "Then let's go."
As they stepped into the courtyard, surrounded by snow and cold air, Minho quickly cast a warming charm on both of them before guiding them further away from the ball. They passed by multiple couples making out and it only increased the heat between Felix and Minho. Felix tightened his grip on Minho’s hand.
Finding a secluded spot away from the other students, Minho didn’t hesitate to push Felix against a wall behind a bush. Felix was pliant, willingly following Minho’s lead.
The same hunger, darkness, and determination was set on Minho’s face as he gazed down at Felix but there was a hint of hesitation.
Raising his brow, Felix reached forward to grasp the collar of Minho’s robes, silently urging Minho to voice whatever was holding him back.
Finally Minho spoke up.
“Felix, I am pretty serious about this,” he said, gesturing between them. “I don’t want us to be just a casual hook-up. I’m genuinely interested in you, so I want more than that. If you only want to hook-up and that’s it, then please let me know. But I want you to know that I cannot do that. I want something more meaningful, and I’m sorry if that’s coming too sudden or too scary. I just wanted to be clear before we—I don’t know…before we kiss…or not?” He rambled.
Felix felt a flutter in his stomach.
Minho patiently waited for his response, he looked slightly hopeful at the same time trying his best to keep his expressions neutral like he would accept any response back from Felix and wanted Felix to know that he would be okay with any response.
However, Felix couldn’t help but focus on that slight hopeful expression on the elder’s face.
Felix smiled softly. Minho's sincerity made him feel valued and appreciated, and he couldn't help but feel grateful for the elder Wizard’s honesty. It echoed his own feelings because he definitely wasn’t just looking for a casual hook-up.
"I want more than just a hook-up," Felix replied.
"Really?" Minho's smile shifted from hopeful to pure delight. "You sure?"
"Absolutely," Felix affirmed.
"Then..." Minho's hand tenderly cupped Felix's chin, his gaze drifting to his lips. Felix nodded and taking that as a signal, Minho leaned in slowly, pressing his lips against Felix's with a softness that made Felix's heart race.
The kiss started slowly, exploring each other's lips with gentle touches.
Felix did his best to follow Minho's lead, matching the rhythm as it gradually intensified. Their lips moved in sync, the kiss deepening with each passing moment. Minho moved his hand from Felix’s chin to his head, cradling it there while simultaneously deepening the kiss. His other hand held Felix by the waist.
Minho's touch ignited a fire within Felix, and he responded eagerly, savoring every sensation while wrapping both of his arms around Minho’s broad shoulders. Time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in the intimacy of the moment.
Throughout his time at Hogwarts, Felix had shared kisses here and there, but they were usually just pecks on the lips and nothing more.
But this? Kissing like this? Where it felt like they were sharing breath, was an entirely new experience for him. And even as they continued to kiss, Felix found himself craving more and more—his lips moving against Minho’s on their accord.
He had felt a hunger for Minho’s lips ever since he had witnessed him cussing out the Eagle Knocker, but he hadn’t realized the full extent of it until this moment, where it felt like his hunger was finally being satiated. Yet, simultaneously, he still felt greedy for more.
And it seemed like Minho knew what he was doing too. It made Felix feel so inexperienced with the way the elder was moving his mouth against Felix’s.
"And that's 10 points off for Ravenclaw," Snape's voice boomed, snapping both of them away from each other. They turned around to face their professor in horror, only to find him already facing the other way, his expression twisted with clear disgust.
Felix's heart raced at the thought of being caught by Snape, of all people, while being so intimate with Minho. He turned to face the elder Ravenclaw, who was attempting to fix his hair but sported the brightest blush on his face as he stared at his feet sheepishly.
"Kiss in the privacy of a room all you want," Snape said, his eyes narrowing at them. "Not out in the courtyard for everyone to see."
With a flick of his cloak, he turned and strode away, leaving Felix and Minho in a blushing mess.
They turned to face each other, taking in how embarrassed and flushed they looked, and couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
They were quiet for a few seconds, where Felix looked back at Minho wondering if he also wanted to continue kissing.
Minho took a step forward, as if reading Felix’s mind, but instead of continuing on with the kiss they had shared before, he just pecked his lips before moving back.
“Do you want to walk around for a bit?” Minho asked as he pointed his chin to the other side, indicating where he wanted to go for a walk.
“Okay,” Felix said softly, still feeling breathless.
Before Felix could peel himself off the wall, Minho grabbed hold of Felix’s hand and intertwined their hands together before slowly beginning the stroll down the courtyard with Felix.
They walked around in a comfortable silence and although Felix wanted to continue kissing, he also felt completely content to just walk around with Minho.
Until Minho suddenly stopped in his tracks and let out a loud gasp as he looked towards the side.
"What happened?" Felix asked before turning to face what Minho was looking at.
He couldn't help but let out an excited squeal before Minho quickly placed his palm over Felix’s mouth and clamped it shut.
It was Jisung and Hyunjin, hiding behind their own bush and engaged in a passionate kissing session. They were so absorbed in each other that they hadn't noticed Minho or Felix at all, lost in their own world.
"Fucking finally," Felix whispered as Minho withdrew his hand from his mouth.
He turned to face Minho, eager to share that, "they've been obsessed with each other since first year."
“I thought they hated each other,” Minho said as his eyes widened in surprise. "Don’t they consider each other their enemies?"
Felix shook his head and corrected him. "Arch-nemesis. Jisung will be offended if you call them enemies and not arch-nemesis."
"Ahh, I see," Minho chuckled. "I guess there's a difference?"
"According to those two, there is a huge difference," Felix giggled before adding, "I can't wait to tease them later. I just hope Snape doesn’t find them and they can continue kissing."
Minho laughed before continuing their stroll out the courtyard. “Let’s head all the way to the opposite side of the castle? I doubt there will be any couples making out all the way there.”
“Okay,” Felix nodded and followed along.
Before long, they had found another secluded spot with a bench facing the lake. Not noticing anyone around there, they both sat down on the bench, a peaceful silence hanging between the two as they stared at the constellation above while Minho cast another heating charm on them.
It was Minho who broke the silence first, his voice soft, "This is the first time I've spent winter break at Hogwarts."
Felix continued to gaze at the stars as he said, "me too."
“Before I asked you to the ball, I was still planning to head back home,” Minho revealed.
"Really?" Felix's surprise was evident in his tone. "You wouldn't have stayed for Chan and Changbin?"
"I miss my parents and cats a lot whenever I'm here," Minho confessed. "My family’s all Muggle, so it's hard to stay connected with them. I know multiple students floo call their parents from McGonagall's office whenever they miss them. But for Muggles, it's a bit hard since we don't really have a floo connection like that, especially because we don’t even have a chimney at my house. And my parents have only recently gotten used to writing letters and delivering them via owls, but even then, it takes so long to reach. And it's not like my cats can write me a letter, so I miss them the most whenever I'm here, especially because I can actually talk to them whenever I see them."
Sensing Minho's longing for his cats, Felix didn't hesitate to transform into his kitten form, leaping onto Minho's lap.
Minho startled but quickly calmed down, gently petting Felix's fur.
"I know I'm no replacement for your cats, but I thought I could help you feel less homesick if I turned myself into a cat," Felix meowed, knowing Minho could still understand him.
Minho smiled fondly, stroking Felix's back. "Thank you, but you really don't have to."
Felix simply shook his head and settled comfortably on Minho's lap.
“Y'know, I was extremely surprised when Seungmin revealed that you were a cat-whisperer,” Felix said after a few moments.
“I'm not just a cat whisperer,” Minho replied. “I can understand all animals.”
“That's amazing,” Felix meowed in surprise. “Wait! That means you can talk to snakes too, right? Are you a Parselmouth too?”
“I guess I am,” Minho chuckled. “No one really knows that besides Chan and Changbin though.”
“Yeah, I can’t even imagine the amount of people that will start to think you’re some sort of Heir of Slytherin if anyone else finds out,” Felix replied.
Minho laughed.
“Is that something you want to do in the future? A career that's animal-related?” Felix asked.
Minho paused his petting and looked up at the sky, as if seeking answers there before slowly admitting, “I'm not sure what I want to do after Hogwarts.”
Felix purred in acknowledgment before saying, “I thought you were studying so hard because you already knew what you wanted to do.”
“One would think, right?” Minho smiled. “But no, I don't really study because I have a goal in mind or anything like that. I just read all the textbooks because I've been extremely interested in all things related to magic ever since I found out I was a wizard.”
“Ohh.”
Minho finally looked down at him, continuing to pet him as he asked, “What do you want to do after graduating, Felix?”
“I want to work in transfiguration,” Felix replied, relishing Minho's gentle strokes on his ears.
“I figured,” Minho grinned.
“I already have a job lined up in New York City that I’m interested in,” Felix said. “They said they don’t mind waiting until after I’ve finished my seventh year at Hogwarts.”
Minho paused his petting once again, visibly surprised by the news.
“Wow, that’s amazing,” Minho whispered. “I always knew you were really talented, but wow, you already have a job lined up? That’s incredible, Felix.”
Felix couldn’t help but preen a bit, boasting, “I had multiple job offers lined up. McGonagall helped me get my work out there in the world and I guess the word caught on by various different companies. But I was particularly interested in what the company in New York was doing, and besides, they were offering a higher salary, so I decided to take them up on their offer.”
“That’s really something,” Minho said genuinely, and Felix couldn’t help but purr in happiness.
“But don’t worry, even if my job will be in New York, I still intend to live out my life in England,” Felix reassured. “I'll do everything I can to see you every single day. I’ll set up some sort of international portkey or a floo portal in my office that will lead me directly back home, and then I can just apparate to wherever you are.”
Minho laughed before saying, “I’ll do my very best to see you every day too. I would love that.”
Felix hummed in acknowledgment before they settled back into a comfortable silence, with Minho continuing to stroke him, making Felix feel pliant and relaxed in his lap.
This time, it was Felix who broke the silence as he said what he had thought all along, “I thought you would want to be an Auror.”
“Everyone expects me to become one,” Minho responded. “Especially since I apparently excel at Defense Against the Dark Arts.”
“I’ve heard you’re really good at dueling,” Felix said.
“Eh,” Minho shrugged. “I suppose.”
“Well, do you want to become an Auror?” Felix asked.
“Not really,” Minho admitted after a long sigh.
“Then don’t,” Felix said simply.
“But it pays really well,” Minho pointed out.
“Is that what you really want?” Felix questioned. “To earn a lot of money?”
“I don’t know. Maybe?” Minho groaned as he fell sideways on the bench, bringing Felix along with him, startling Felix before he was gently placed on a firm chest. Then, as if nothing had happened, Minho continued talking. “I want to just live comfortably. And honestly, having a good steady income sounds great. Maybe that is what I really want then, to earn a lot of money.”
Felix tried to act like it was all normal that he was resting on his crush’s chest. He tried his best to bring his heart rate down and made sure to not move at all, he didn’t want to accidentally touch the elder where he wasn’t supposed to.
“But I also want a job where I don’t have to spend too much time in an office,” Minho continued talking, oblivious to Felix's internal panicking at having his body directly on top of Minho’s firm pecs. “It should be well-paid, but I also value spending time at home with loved ones over being stuck at work all day.”
And even through his kitten paws he could tell that they were extremely firm, like Minho had been exercising a lot.
Despite the distraction, Felix tried his best to focus on Minho’s words.
“There's this Muggle research study I came across once,” Minho continued, prompting Felix to hum in response.
He wondered whether it would be appropriate to rest his head on Minho's chest or not. What if he accidentally touched a nipple, though?
“It said that the average person spends more time interacting with their coworkers than their loved ones during their entire lifetime. And that made me so sad…I would really hate such a life,” Minho said.
“That does sound awful,” Felix agreed, feeling a pang of sympathy for Minho's sentiments. It was also then when he decided it was perfectly acceptable to rest his head on Minho's chest to provide him comfort.
“Yep,” Minho nodded, his voice resonating through Felix's body. “And that means I have to be constantly away from loved ones.”
“Hmm, I see,” Felix murmured, making himself comfortable. Although feeling a bit upset that he hadn’t landed on the nipple—he immediately tried to ignore such a thought.
“What about you? What do you think of that?” Minho asked, prompting Felix to share his thoughts.
“Well, to be honest, when I start a transfiguration project, I usually zone everything out,” Felix confessed. “And it’s also the kind of occupation where once I get the hang of it, I don’t need to go into the office or anything to work on it. I can just finish whatever I have to do at the comfort of my own home.”
“That’s good,” Minho acknowledged. “I heard there are multiple Muggle career options where they can work from home or work partly at home and office and still get paid a lot.”
“Then why don’t you pursue something like that?” Felix asked, genuinely curious.
“I was leaning into it,” Minho said. “But I felt like it would be a bit hard for me trying to acclimate back into Muggle society again, surrounding myself with so many Muggles.”
Felix couldn’t help but laugh at the irony of Minho being a Muggle-born but still expressing such sentiments. “It can’t be that hard, right? You would just have to hide a certain part of yourself from them.”
“That certain part of myself has become the biggest part of myself at this point,” Minho admitted. “I genuinely don’t think I can go long without using magic.” And as if to prove his point, he took out his wand and cast another warming charm on them.
“Well, you can always live in the wizarding society, conduct your daily dose of magic, and then whenever you have to go to the office, you can just act all Muggle,” Felix suggested.
Minho laughed, and Felix found himself loving that sound even more than before, especially with how it resonated throughout his entire body. “Y’know, when I found out that you were part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight families, I thought you would’ve been into all the pureblood supremacy and other bigoted stuff.”
“Dear old me?” Felix asked in mock offense, before giggling…although he had no idea if that sarcasm seeped through in his kitten voice. “Nah. The concept is just plain weird to me and my family. I actually told my mom about you, and you know what’s the first thing she wrote back to me? After she discovered your last name was also Lee?”
“What?” Minho asked, resuming his gentle petting on Felix.
“She said she cannot in good conscience allow any more inbreeding into the family. I told her you were a Muggle and not the Lee that we’re familiar with, though, so don’t worry,” Felix explained with a chuckle.
Minho laughed louder at that before saying, “I can't believe you already told your mom about me.”
“I tell my mom everything,” Felix said.
“That’s very sweet,” Minho said.
They settled into a comfortable silence once more. Felix rested his head on Minho’s chest, feeling utterly content. He silently thanked the day he had decided to become an Animagus, grateful for the ability to transform into a cat as Minho continued to stroke Felix as they both gazed up at the starry night sky.
It was such a nice peaceful moment.
Felix’s heart wasn’t racing like he had feared it would before the ball. He had been nervous about the entire thing, asking Seungmin on how to act around Minho and what to say.
The advice had been extremely unhelpful from all of them—“just be yourself, Lix,” or “do what comes naturally.”
But Felix didn’t know what came naturally to him, especially not when facing his crush for such a long period of time instead of his usual couple of minutes that he spent talking with Minho. He had truly doubted he could be his true self while a bundle of nerves set him on fire.
However, being around Minho felt surprisingly comfortable. Felix found himself at ease, able to relax and simply be himself. It was a revelation. A pleasant revelation. He hadn’t thought it possible until now, realizing that he could be content around someone he had a crush on, that his heart could settle into a peaceful rhythm in their presence.
It made him so happy.
So, they stayed like that for a while with Minho petting Felix and Felix resting on his chest.
It wasn’t until Minho started softly laughing that Felix raised his head and looked at him curiously, wondering what he had found so funny suddenly.
“You know…” Minho began speaking in between his chuckles. “Maybe like a couple of centuries ago, we might have had a common ancestor and that could explain why we both have the same surname—despite me being a Muggle-born.”
Felix's immediate reaction was to cover his ears with his paws, as if trying to physically block out the idea. "I can't hear you," he meowed loudly, his voice a mixture of amusement and horror. Mostly horror because the thought of being even distantly related to Minho was utterly unthinkable to him.
“I wonder if that common ancestor was a Wizard and that’s why down the line I was a Wizard from a long line of Muggles,” Minho continued talking despite Felix’s best attempts to keep on meowing loudly to stop him from talking about that topic.
“I still can’t hear you,” Felix yowled.
Minho's laughter filled the air, echoing through the quiet courtyard as he said, "Alright, alright, I'll drop it," still chuckling.
Felix huffed in mock annoyance but couldn't suppress the smile that tugged at his lips. He settled back against Minho's chest, enjoying the warmth it provided.
Yet, just as Felix relaxed, Minho broke the silence once more with a question. "Would you like to do something together before classes start back up again?"
Felix's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. "As a date?" he asked softly.
Minho nodded, his eyes meeting Felix's with a warmth that made Felix's heart flutter even more.
Deciding it was time to return to his human form for a more serious conversation, Felix transformed back. But he hadn't anticipated the awkwardness of landing directly on Minho's chest in the process.
Minho startled slightly, but didn't move as Felix hastily scrambled to sit upright. Embarrassment flushed Felix's cheeks when in his haste to balance himself, his hands landed right on top of Minho’s pecs. He let out a tiny squeak of surprise before quickly withdrawing his hands.
He was sitting now but in an awkward position right on top of Minho’s waist, his hands awkwardly hanging between his torso, not daring to move them the slightest inch, lest he lose balance and fall on top of the elder. Minho looked up at him with wide eyes as he noticed the position they both were in suddenly.
“I-I’m s-sorry,” Felix stuttered, his heart pounding so loudly against his chest that it actually hurt. “I will get up.”
Minho immediately placed his hands on Felix’s waist and prevented him from getting off. “Don’t,” he said.
Felix had been staring at the ground when he was trying to get up but immediately turned to look at Minho questioningly. Felix swallowed as he looked at the way Minho was looking up at him. His face was also flushed bright, he looked nervous but his eyes were also hooded and dark.
“Stay,” he said.
And well, who was Felix to deny him that?
So, he stayed.
Although, he dared not move a single muscle no matter how awkwardly his limbs lay resting on top of Minho’s hips.
Minho was also trying his best to not move a single muscle but he kept his hand resting on Felix’s waist.
“So?” Minho asked after a couple of seconds. “Will you go on a date with me, Felix?”
“Yes,” Felix answered immediately.
“Do you want to go to the Three Broomsticks tomorrow?” Minho asked.
“Okay,” Felix nodded, ready to go anywhere.
"Okay," Minho repeated softly, giving a slight squeeze to Felix's waist before sitting up.
He shifted Felix around a bit as he did that, moving them in a position where Minho was sitting on the bench while Felix sat on his lap.
Felix allowed himself to be jostled around, feeling a rush of excitement at being handled around like that.
Face to face once more, Minho gazed between Felix's eyes and lips, silently asking permission to kiss.
Felix nodded in response, and Minho leaned in slowly, connecting their lips once again.
______________________________________________________________________
It was likely around 1 A.M. when they made their way back to the Ravenclaw Towers. A few students, still dressed in their elegant robes, were lingering in the hallways, enjoying the night's festivities. Felix looked around the corridors for his friends, but they were either still out there somewhere enjoying themselves or they had already retired for the night.
Before they could enter the common room, Felix had of course flipped off the Eagle Knocker, as per tradition that he had only recently started and had asked his friends to get on it too. Hyunjin had gladly obliged. Seungmin, on the other hand, vehemently refused, citing something about respecting ancient artifacts, which didn’t make sense since he was completely okay with Felix’s scheme to transfigure the object into something else. But maybe he was okay with that because he didn’t think Felix would actually go through with that scheme? Well, Felix couldn’t wait to prove him wrong, even if he had no clue what to do or how to do it. Yet.
As soon as they entered, they noticed a small crowd gathered around a parchment pinned to the wall.
Felix noticed a few Ravenclaws shooting him curious glances, some smirking, others whispering amongst themselves. He couldn't make out their words, but it was obvious that they were singling him out.
"What's happening?" Felix asked, turning to Minho for answers. Instead of responding, Minho pushed his way through the crowd to read the parchment.
Felix remained behind, the stares of the other students weighing on him. Some openly laughed, while others regarded him with disdain.
His heart raced, but this time, it wasn't the exhilarating rush of moments like before when he had been with Minho. No, now it was a nervous tension, his senses on edge as he tried to understand the mockery directed his way.
Suddenly, Minho let out a loud swear before tearing the parchment from the wall, pointing his wand at it and burning it away with a whispered spell.
A heavy silence fell over the room as the students looked between Minho and the burning parchment.
Minho looked enraged as he watched it burn away.
Felix's heart pounded in his chest, a lump forming in his throat as anxiety coursed through him.
Slowly, Felix approached Minho, cutting through the crowd. As he brushed past some students, one of them sneered mockingly, "dumbass."
Felix flinched at the familiar voice of Eugene Barrett.
“Wha—?” Felix asked.
“I said, dumbass,” Barrett sneered. “I can also say stupid, knucklehead, pillock, dense, or dim, if you were too slow to understand what I said first.”
Felix's fists clenched in frustration as Barrett's insults cut through the air like knives. His anger flared, ready to retort, but then he noticed the mocking laughter from the surrounding students. Their amusement was directed at him, as they listened to Barrett's taunts.
"Why are you all...?" Felix began, his voice trailing off as he struggled to articulate his bewilderment and feelings of hurt. He could handle it if it was just Barrett, but so many people laughing at his expense? He didn’t know what to do.
"You don't belong in Ravenclaw," Barrett jeered, his words dripping with disdain.
"And wasn't he the one who took ages to get sorted here?" Devon Miller chimed in, adding more venom to the conversation.
Felix staggered back, feeling sick to his stomach as the stares of his peers bore into him with disgust.
Minho's voice, barely contained with fury, broke through the tense atmosphere. "Who posted this parchment?!" he demanded, his eyes scanning the crowd for the culprit.
Some of the surrounding students immediately pointed at Barrett and Miller, not caring about throwing them under the bus but looking like they were thoroughly enjoying the drama unfold.
Minho wasted no time. With his wand already in hand, he aimed it at them and roared, "Descendo!"
Both Barrett and Miller were abruptly propelled face-first onto the ground, their protests drowned out by the sudden force that slammed them down.
Miller let out a loud cuss as he tried to get up before pointing his wand at Minho.
Minho was quicker, shouting, “Augmanti!” A jet of water erupted from his wand and shot both of them, forcing them back down onto the floor once again.
“What’s going on?” Felix could only whisper out as he watched Minho continue to spray more water onto their heads, as both tried to get up and send their own spells Minho’s way. It was two against one and yet, it was clear to everyone present how much of an easier time Minho was having at dueling against them—with just one simple spell thrown repeatedly onto their faces, augmanti.
“Felix,” a student soothingly whispered to him, calling for his attention.
Felix turned to face a third-year student, Luna Lovegood, one of the kindest and sweetest students in the Ravenclaw House. So, Felix lowered his apprehension, knowing that whatever had happened, Luna wouldn’t tease him for anything.
“Those two somehow were able to get their hands on your grades for all the subjects this year, including your failed grades in Defense Against the Dark Arts,” Luna whispered in a calm and measured tone. “And they pinned that up for everyone to see,” she said, her eyes looking back at Felix with sympathy as he finally realized what was going on.
They were all Ravenclaws, of course they would hold Felix's low grades and failed exams over his head. Of course, they would all completely outcast him now. Felix felt his knees go weak as he understood that he would be completely ostracized from all Ravenclaws now.
The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. Not only was he being humiliated in front of his peers, but his academic struggles were now public knowledge, further tarnishing his reputation. He felt a wave of shame wash over him, knowing that he would now be seen as incompetent and unworthy of his place in Ravenclaw.
He could feel tears begin to sting his eyes.
But he refused to cry in front of all of them. He squeezed his eyes close and willed his tears to go away. Taking a couple of deep breaths to stabilize himself before he opened his eyes and watched Minho beating the shit out of the two instigators.
Minho cast, “Levicorpus.”
Instantly, both Barrett and Miller were hoisted into the air, dangling upside down by their feet, their screams echoing through the common room.
In a desperate attempt to counter, Miller scrambled for his wand, but in his haste, it slipped from his grasp and clattered to the damp floor below. Seizing the opportunity, Minho directed his focus to Miller's fallen wand, summoning it into his own hand.
Distracted by that stint, none of them had noticed that Barrett had pointed his wand at Felix and shouted, “Everte Statum!”
Caught off guard and lost in the chaos of the moment, Felix took the full brunt of that spell and was thrown backwards, his body slamming forcefully into the wall behind him.
"Felix!" Minho cried in concern, his voice urgent as he quickly countered, shouting, "Expelliarmus!" aiming to disarm Barrett.
Groaning, Felix struggled to regain his bearings. He watched as ropes shot from Minho’s wand, swiftly binding Barrett and Miller. Without hesitation, Minho tied and suspended them on the same spot where they had pinned Felix's grades, both of them still swearing profusely at both Minho and Felix.
Minho then cast "Langlock," effectively silencing both of them.
"Are you okay?" Luna's gentle voice broke through the chaos as she extended a hand to help Felix up.
Felix struggled to find an answer to her question. Physically, he felt a slight ache from the impact but emotionally, he felt the weight of impending mockery from his fellow Ravenclaws.
Managing a nod, Felix glanced up just as Minho approached.
"Are you hurt anywhere?" Minho's concern was evident, his demeanor shifting from aggression to genuine worry in an instant.
Felix took a moment to assess himself, feeling a slight numbness in his back from the impact but otherwise unharmed. He shook his head in response.
"Good," Minho breathed a sigh of relief, flashing a grateful smile at Luna before gently guiding Felix away from her assistance.
“I will walk you to your room?” Minho asked for permission.
Felix couldn’t get a single word out, he could still feel the lump in his throat threatening to break out. So, to keep a hold on himself, he nodded yet again.
Minho draped his arm around Felix's shoulder, guiding him towards the staircase. However, just before they could climb up, Minho released Felix and turned around to face the crowd of students.
“If any of you dare utter a word against Felix, I won’t hesitate to bind you and suspend you on the wall just like those two,” Minho warned, his tone dripping with menace. “I’ve been practicing a new spell that temporarily robs my opponents of their sight. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m more than willing to if provoked.”
A tense silence enveloped the room as Minho’s threat sank in. The students understood he meant every word, given Barrett and Miller’s current predicament. Nods of agreement rippled through the crowd as they silently returned to their conversations, pretending nothing had happened. Like there wasn’t a damp spot on the floor where Minho had splashed a lot of water on. Like Barrett and Miller weren’t suspended on the wall, unable to speak while their faces contorted in angry gestures, demanding for assistance that none were willing to provide.
Minho was unhinged.
Crazy.
For Felix.
And instead of feeling scared or anything like that, Felix couldn’t help but swoon and blush for him.
“My hero,” Felix whispered jokingly as they entered his room. His voice wobbled as he finally allowed himself to say something and that broke the tears out, sliding down his face in the privacy of his room.
Felix wasn’t sure how to face his friends just yet so he was relieved to find it empty.
“Felix…” Minho whispered with sympathy, his expression filled with concern as he followed Felix into the room.
Taking a seat on his bed, he made room for Minho to sit beside him. Without hesitation, Minho wrapped a comforting arm around Felix, pulling him close as he let him cry.
“S-Sorry, I’m just a little u-upset,” Felix sniffed after a few minutes of just silently crying. “This is definitely not how I wanted you on my bed.”
Minho chuckled at that before admonishing him for apologizing and saying, “it's completely understandable to be upset with this situation, Lix. I’m also very upset, for lack of a better term.”
Felix swallowed hard, fighting back the lump in his throat before admitting, “I really don’t belong in Ravenclaw, huh?”
Minho’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Are you kidding?! You’re one of the most brilliant and talented wizards that I know of. Do you honestly believe that just anyone—anyone who isn’t the most creative and brilliant wizard out there—could possibly make something like this?” He gestured proudly to the handcrafted corsage on his wrist.
“None of the students out there can even dream of making something like this,” Minho said. “You’re more Ravenclaw than any of those idiots.”
“I can’t even answer any of the riddles that the Eagle Knocker poses,” said Felix as he tentatively traced the delicate petals on flowers he had transfigured. “I have a hard time even entering my own House—of course I don’t belong here.”
“Felix, there are some riddles that are almost impossible to answer by anyone,” Minho said. “You have no idea how many times I had to loiter around the entrance, waiting for another student to answer the riddle so that I can finally enter.”
Felix hummed, not truly believing him.
“You remember last time, right?” Minho softly chuckled. “How much I blew up at that Eagle Knocker? I was so angry because I didn’t want to answer any riddles posed by it. It’s hard for me too.”
Felix couldn’t help but let his lips quiver and smile as he remembered that.
“And let’s not forget that you’re an Animagius,” Minho reminded him. “There’s not another student at Hogwarts who could claim that title besides you. Heck, not even a single professor apart from McGonagall is an Animagus. As far as we all know there are only two Animagus in the entirety of Hogwarts, and you haven’t even graduated yet!”
“Being an Animagus doesn’t require intelligence, just patience for a very long ritual,” Felix snorted as he wiped the tears off his face and continued playing with the corsage on Minho’s wrist.
“McGonagall herself has stated quite often how difficult such a feat is,” Minho countered. “I’ve delved into the process, and it demands a good deal of skills, dedication, planning ahead, and patience—qualities that only the truest Ravenclaws possess, Lix.”
Felix let out a thoughtful hum before saying “I did specifically ask the Sorting Hat to sort me here. Those rumors out there aren’t wrong.”
“Lix, do you honestly think the Sorting Hat, with its centuries old wisdom, would simply just listen to the request of an 11-year-old without reason?” Minho countered. “Honestly, if you were somehow capable of persuading the Sorting Hat, then I believe you possess more reason for being here than anything else. Only the smartest of people have good persuasion skills. But besides that, I am sure the Sorting Hat had its own justifications too.”
Minho paused when he saw the skepticism that Felix had towards his last statement, so he further added, “it’s no secret that I was nearly sorted into Slytherin. I had to persuade the Sorting Hat to place me here instead. Apparently one of the qualities required to be sorted into Slytherin is to have ambition and well...I…I simply don’t have any ambition currently—as awful as that sounds.”
“That's not awful,” Felix shook his head in disagreement. “Not everyone needs to have a dream—at least not at such a young age.”
Minho smiled before continuing, “Well, that was one of the reasons why the Sorting Hat agreed to not sort me into Slytherin. But it noticed that I possessed some sort of wit and a skill for being open to learning, so it sorted me into Ravenclaw.”
“How would you know all that?” Felix asked.
"Well, my sorting was one of the longest ever recorded for a reason," Minho chuckled. "I sat on that stool in front of everyone, the oversized hat obscuring half my face, bombarding it with questions after questions—because at that time I was just so curious about everything relating to magic that I just had to know. Like how the Sorting Hat determined which House each student belonged to. I even asked if it could read each student’s minds. And you know what? It proved it to me by telling me what I had eaten on the Hogwarts Express that day! Then, I asked why it had narrowed down two Houses for me, Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and it responded with why. After that, it chose Ravenclaw because it clearly looked like I had this insatiable hunger for knowledge.”
Felix couldn't help but share a chuckle with Minho as he pictured a young, curious Minho sitting on the sorting stool, unfazed by the attention or the line of students waiting their turn, bombarding the Sorting Hat with question after question. If anything, Felix was amazed that the Sorting Hat had actually indulged Minho and answered all of his questions.
"So, I'm sure the Sorting Hat had its own reason for sorting you into Ravenclaw," Minho remarked. "But even without knowing its exact reasoning, it's obviously clear that you were sorted into the correct House—with all your sharp wit, creativity, and remarkable skills."
Felix snorted again, but this time it was a lighter, more contented sound. His earlier frustrations had dissolved, replaced by a wide smile.
Basking in the comfortable silence for a few moments, he idly toyed with the corsage on Minho's wrist before his thoughts drifted to Barrett and Miller, still suspended on the wall.
"Maybe waterboarding them and then sticking them to the wall with Langlock was a tad bit excessive?" he mused aloud.
"Eh, who gives a fuck?" Minho shrugged indifferently. “It’s not like anyone is going to tattletale on me without explaining how those two had somehow illegally gotten access to your grades. And those two are most certainly not going out of their ways to tattletale on me.”
Felix nodded.
“And also I merely sprayed water on them! I was most certainly not waterboarding them!” Minho shouted in exasperation. “I’m not some sort of a torturer.”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night,” Felix shrugged, laughing.
Minho spluttered but before he could say anything, the door to the room slammed open and in walked a fuming Hyunjin with the rest of Felix’s doormates.
“Felix, if you want, I can skin them alive for you,” Hyunjin said as he walked over to him, brandishing his wand threateningly. “I can get the other Slytherin's in on it too.”
“What? NO!” Felix yelled, shaking his head vehemently. “Besides, Minho already took care of them.”
“Ooh, I heard,” Hyunjin cackled like a maniac. “Everyone’s talking about how you strung them on that wall. Too bad we were too late because we didn’t see them hanging around in the Common room.”
“Hanging around,” Jisung snorted. “Nice one.”
Both of them high-fiving each other at that.
Felix glanced between the two supposed arch-nemeses. Their hair was tousled, and there were obvious signs of hickeys forming on their necks. Both were standing quite close to each other than they usually did. And Jisung had actually laughed at Hyunjin’s comment before complimenting him. And then even high-fived him!
Turning to Seungmin and Jeongin, Felix tried to tell if they were seeing what he was seeing, but their expressions were twisted in anger on behalf of Felix.
“Besides,” Felix continued, “not only did Minho take care of them in front of everyone, but he also gave everyone there a warning. It was quite hot, actually.”
He said that last part while facing Minho, who had placed his hand over Felix’s.
Minho shyly smiled before standing up from the bed.
“Aww, I wish I could have seen that,” Hyunjin cried.
Felix turned to face the Slytherin, noting the hint of disappointment in his expression. But Felix ignored that and with a mischievous smirk, he replied, “Don’t worry, I know you were preoccupied by…” He glanced at Jisung, his grin widening as he added, “other things.”
Jisung's blush spread across his face, not even bothering to hide how bright red he had gotten. Hyunjin, on the other hand, squealed in horror before stammering out, “I-I don’t…haha…I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure,” Felix laughed, exchanging a secretive look with Minho, who shook his head in amusement.
“Wait, Minho knows about it too?” Jisung asked, his voice reaching a high pitch, clearly embarrassed.
“He saw it first before pointing it out to me,” Felix explained.
Seungmin inched closer, a knowing smile playing on his lips as he glanced between the two.
“Wait, what happened?” Seungmin asked, trying to seek confirmation to check if he was right in whatever he was thinking or not.
“Nothing!” Hyunjin exclaimed suddenly, his tone betraying his embarrassment. “I’m going to sleep now! Bye!”
With that, he hurriedly exited the room, leaving the others to exchange amused glances.
“I-I’m going to head to bed too,” Jisung said before hurriedly rushing to his bed and drawing the curtains shut.
“Are those two…?” Jeongin asked with a wide smile.
Felix just shrugged, not wanting to give everything away, thinking it was their job to reveal whatever happened in their own time.
“I’m gonna head out too,” Minho said, gently tugging on Felix’s hand to gain his attention.
Felix nodded, rising from his seat and accompanying Minho to the door of the room.
“What time do you wanna meet tomorrow?” Felix inquired before Minho could depart.
“Around 12? We could grab lunch,” Minho suggested.
“Sounds good,” Felix agreed with a nod.
Before leaving, Minho leaned in and planted a soft peck on Felix’s lips. “See you tomorrow.”
Before Minho turned to leave, Felix halted him with a whisper, “Thank you, about…”
Minho paused, glancing back at Felix with a soft smile. He reached up, ruffling Felix’s hair gently. “There’s no need to thank me for anything, okay? Just take care of yourself.”
Felix nodded slowly, bidding Minho goodnight with a wave. “Good night.”
“Good night,” Minho echoed before departing.
