Chapter 2
Rock music starts blaring from the speakers as a scene shows a few vans heading through a deserted land. The caption shows that they are in Afghanistan. The scene shifts inside of one of the vans to show a stereo playing the music.
"Seriously you're showing this memory first?" Arsenal demands in the room with the future Avengers, glaring at the wheelchair-clad man who calmly looks at him "You said you wanted the Potters to understand what your mother and everyone else went through, did you not?" Charles Xavier asks, raising an eyebrow as Aresenal scowls and turns back to the window overlooking the past Avengers and their Strange.
A soldier in uniform looks at the back of the van nervously.
There is a hand holding an alcoholic drink, vodka. It shows Toni Stark in her three-pieced suit and sunglasses protecting her eyes. Her hair is in a ponytail as she looks about the interior of the van.
"I feel like you're driving me to a court-martial. This is crazy. What did I do?" Toni asks to ease the mood.
Toni sighs as she massages her head at the memories of this day, Harley and Peter curling around her as Henry sends her a concerned look.
"I feel like you're going to pull over and snuff me. What? You not allowed to talk?" Silence. "Hey, forest!" Toni called to the man next to her.
"We can talk, sir."
"Oh? I see. So it's personal?" Toni asked as she went to face the window instead of the inhabitants of the van.
"No, you intimidate them." The driver commented.
"Holy Shit you're a woman that's awesome. Usually it's a complete sausage fest when the military is escorting me." Silence. "I mean I'd apologize but isn't that what we're going for here? I thought you as a soldier first."
"I'm an airman." The woman said.
"You have excellent bone structure there," Toni said, trying to ease the atmosphere.
"I'm kind of having a hard time not looking at you, now," Toni said nervously. "Is that weird?" That earned a few laughs from soldiers, including the woman. Tony eased in her seat, sensing that it would no longer be so tense. "Come on! It's okay, laugh."
"Ma'am, I have a question." One soldier asked. This soldier had been repeatedly seen looking at the billionaire nervously. It seems he has finally built up the nerves to speak.
"Yes, please," Toni said.
"Is it true you went twelve for twelve with last year's Maxim cover models?"
"That is an excellent question," Toni said as she removed her glasses. "Yes and no. March and I had a scheduling conflict but fortunately, the Christmas cover was twins."
"I never wanted to know that." Henry sighs, Wanda snorting besides him.
"Anything else?" Toni asked around. One soldier raised his hand shyly. "You're kidding me with the hands up, right."
"Is it okay if I take a picture with you?"
"Reminds me of the Papparazi." Peter mumbles low enough only Harley could hear, the boy sending his twin a look
"Yes," Toni said. "It's very cool."
The soldier smiles and hands over a camera to the soldier at the front. Tony leans in to be in frame with the soldier next to him as the soldier raises his two fingers in a peace sign.
"I don't want to see this on your MySpace page," Toni commented. "Please, no gang signs."
"What's MySpace?" a voice asks, causing Arsenal and Scarlet Witch to jump, turning to see their youngest son Steve standing by them looking at the screen in confusion "Something that went out of style when I was a little older than you, aren't Billy and Tommy supposed to be watching you and the others?" Arsenal asks, getting a deadpan look from the nine-year-old "I'm bored so I snuck off while they were arguing with May and Penni." the boy says, Scarlet Witch sighs and puts the boy on the seat between them "At least there's no chance of him burning the house down during a tantrum sitting between us." Scarlet Witch says in Arsenal's mind, who snorts at the words.
The soldier puts his hand down.
"No, throw it up, I'm kidding."
The soldier held up his peace sign again and had a smile plastered on his face. "Yeah, peace, I love peace," Toni said conversationally. "I'd be out of the job with peace."
Henry looks at Wanda and Pietro in concern, unknowingly mirroring his future counterpart. Both Future and Past Maximoffs had blank expressions, the younger Steve wrapping his arms around his mother's waist, his mother humming and running her fingers through his red hair.
The soldiers messed about with the camera, saying to hurry up and not to change the settings. The car in front of them blew up.
"What the Hell?!" The magical members yell, as in the booth Scarlet Witch uses her powers to cover her son's eyes and ears, despite the boy's protests.
"What's going on?" Toni asked calmly as the van shook. The soldiers were screaming over her, ignoring her. The woman soldier had a gun in hand as she exited the van. "Jimmy, stay with Stark!" Said the other soldier in the front before leaving. Jimmy was the last soldier with Toni, the one that the billionaire took a photo with.
"Lay down!" Jimmy ordered and put his hands on Toni's shoulders to guide her down. She didn't stay down.
Jimmy was leaving the car when Toni said, "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait."
"Stay here!" Jimmy said through the closed doors.
Bullets hit the car, puncturing holes into the metal and glass. Toni looked out the windows in a calm sort of panic, her breathing audible. The scene shows the soldiers falling.
Toni gets out of the car.
"And you wonder where your kids get their listening problem from." Rhodey says besides Toni.
She stumbled as the ground shook, hitting the side of the van. She quickly got stable before running through the wreckage, plumes of smoke filling the air. The billionaire leaps behind a few large rocks just in time as another explosion occurs and bullets could be heard.
Toni takes out her phone.
The phone starts beeping as Toni types. Her eyes never leave the phone until a missile lands next to her with the label that belonged to Stark Industries.
Both set of Maximoffs wince as they were hit with memories of their childhood
Toni tucks her phone away before getting to her feet and trying to run away. She didn't make it as the explosion occurs and sends her flying. She lays on her back as she tries to catch her back, everything about her is dirty. She looks down at her chest to see a few drops of blood but she could feel that the injury is worse. The scene shows the blood seeping into her blue shirt. Toni rips the shirt open, the buttons flying off.
Lily lets out a little cry at seeing her daughter's condition, the Potters, Sirius, Remus and Dumbledore looking pale at the scene
The scene fades out with foreign voices.
The scene shifts to a sack being taken off of Toni's head. Her face is bloodied and she's unwashed. There are armed people behind her, brandishing their weapons like trophies. The billionaire blinks against the harsh lighting as the foreign voice continues to speak.
There are a few more seconds where Toni almost drifts to sleep before her eyes widen at the sight of the gun. She looks to the side to see men behind a camera. The light was red.
The screen zooms out as Toni faces the camera head-on. People with scarves are surrounding her. One is reading from a piece of paper, the source of the voice.
Toni Stark, a billionaire, has just been kidnapped by terrorists.
The title of the movie comes in with all capital letters and in gold: IRON MAIDEN.
