Time Flies By

As they approached the gates of Hogwarts, Filius Flitwick, the Deputy Headmaster, greeted them warmly.

"Ah, Mr. Weasley, Mr. Potter, good to see you both!" Flitwick chirped, his tiny frame bustling with energy. "Checking in for the ceremony, I assume?" Charlie nodded with a smile.

"That's right, Professor Flitwick. Wouldn't miss it for the world." Flitwick glanced down at his list, running his finger along the names.

"Excellent, excellent. Just need to make sure no one's bringing in anything they shouldn't be, you know how it is." Harry chuckled.

"Of course, Professor. Wouldn't want any unexpected surprises during the ceremony." With a satisfied nod, Flitwick waved them through the gates.

"Right this way, then. Enjoy the festivities!" As they entered the Hogwarts grounds, Charlie couldn't help but feel a surge of nostalgia.

"Feels like just yesterday we were students here ourselves," he remarked to Harry. Harry grinned, memories flooding back.

"Yeah, but now we get to be the proud guests." They made their way towards the Great Hall, catching sight of Hermione and her parents along the way.

"Hey, Hermione!" Charlie called out, waving. "Excited for the big day?" Hermione beamed at them, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Absolutely! Can't believe we're finally graduating." Her parents nodded in agreement, pride evident in their expressions.

"It's a momentous occasion indeed," Mrs. Granger added. As they approached the Great Hall doors, the anticipation grew.

"Ready for this?" Harry asked, excitement bubbling in his voice. Charlie grinned, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

"Absolutely." With a final exchange of smiles and nods, they entered the Great Hall, eager to celebrate the achievements of their friends and loved ones. Settling into their seats, Charlie and Harry engaged in light conversation while they waited for the ceremony to begin. They reminisced about their own graduation from Hogwarts, sharing fond memories and laughing at old anecdotes. As the chatter around them filled the Great Hall, anticipation mounted. Then, with impeccable timing, the air seemed to shift as Professor McGonagall stepped onto the podium at the front of the room. The hush that fell over the crowd signaled the start of the ceremony.

"Attention, please," McGonagall's voice rang out, commanding the room's focus. All eyes turned towards her as she cleared her throat and began her speech, her words carrying a weight of wisdom and authority. "Dear graduates, esteemed guests, faculty, and staff," McGonagall began, her voice projecting with clarity and poise. "Today marks a significant milestone in the lives of our students—a moment of reflection, celebration, and anticipation for the future." As she spoke, her words resonated with the audience, stirring emotions of pride and nostalgia. Charlie and Harry listened intently, hanging on her every word as she eloquently articulated the journey of education and growth that had led them to this momentous occasion. Together, they joined their fellow guests in applauding McGonagall's speech, their hearts filled with admiration and gratitude for the years they had spent at Hogwarts. As the ceremony continued, they couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what the future held for the graduates and for themselves.

With a regal wave of her wand, McGonagall summoned all the graduates to the front of the Great Hall. One by one, they made their way to the podium, their faces radiant with pride and anticipation.

"Congratulations, graduates! Your hard work and dedication have brought you to this momentous occasion," McGonagall announced.

"Thanks, Professor!" Ron exclaimed with a wide grin as he accepted his diploma.

"It's been an honor, Professor McGonagall," Hermione said with a respectful nod.

"We couldn't have done it without you, Professor," Ginny chimed in, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Cheers, Professor!" Dean added, giving a thumbs-up.

"Thanks for putting up with us, Professor!" Seamus said with a chuckle.

"Indeed, Professor McGonagall, thank you," Draco acknowledged, his tone more subdued but sincere.

"It's been quite the journey, Professor," Pansy remarked, a hint of nostalgia in her voice.

"Thank you for everything, Professor," Blaise expressed, his gratitude evident. And many more students echoed similar sentiments as they received their N.E.W.T.s and other prizes.

"You've made Hogwarts proud. Now, go forth and make your mark on the world!" McGonagall declared, her voice ringing out with pride. Cheers and applause erupted from the audience as each graduate received their accolades, their achievements celebrated by their peers and loved ones. Charlie and Harry watched with pride as their friends and fellow classmates were recognized for their accomplishments.

"They did it, Harry. Our friends are graduated," Charlie remarked, a mixture of joy and nostalgia in his voice.

"Yeah, they've come a long way," Harry agreed, his gaze sweeping over the assembled graduates.

"I'm so proud of them," Charlie admitted, a fond smile gracing his lips.

"It's been quite a journey," Harry concurred, a sense of camaraderie filling his heart.

"Are you envious of them graduating?" Charlie asked, a playful grin lighting up his face. Harry glanced at the departing graduates, then back at Charlie.

"No, not really... okay, just a bit." Charlie chuckled at Harry's admission and slipped his arm around Harry's waist, drawing him closer.

"Don't worry, love," he reassured. "We'll have our own celebrations soon enough." With a warm smile, Harry leaned into Charlie's embrace, feeling grateful for their shared moments and the promise of more to come. After the ceremony, Molly enveloped Ron and Ginny in tight hugs, tears of pride and joy streaming down her cheeks. Their friends crowded around them, offering heartfelt congratulations and warm embraces. As the chairs transformed into tables and a feast materialized before their eyes, McGonagall extended her invitation for all guests and graduates to partake in the final feast as students of Hogwarts. Ginny's eyes glistened with emotion, her voice catching in her throat as she blinked back tears of happiness. Hermione, too, found herself overcome with emotion, tears of joy mingling with Ginny's as they shared a moment of pure elation. Taking their seats once more, surrounded by the familiar faces of friends and loved ones, they celebrated together, reveling in the bonds forged over years of shared experiences and challenges.

Amidst the chatter and laughter of the celebratory feast, Charlie recounted his own graduation story to Harry, regaling him with tales of mischief, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments.

"And then, there was the time Fred and George snuck a Niffler into Professor Sprout's greenhouse..." Charlie's voice carried across the table, drawing Harry's undivided attention. Harry listened intently, his eyes sparkling with amusement as Charlie wove his narrative.

"That sounds like classic Fred and George," Harry remarked with a grin, recalling their antics with fondness. Ron interjected with a playful remark.

"Oi, Charlie, I'm actually surprised you'd managed to find some time to take off." In response, Charlie affectionately ruffled Ron's hair.

"Yeah, you know how it is." A fond smile graced Charlie's lips as he acknowledged the truth in Ron's jest. The warmth of their camaraderie filled the air, a testament to the enduring bonds that had been forged throughout their shared journey at Hogwarts.

The festivities drew to a close and guests began to disperse, Harry and Charlie found themselves approached by McGonagall. Her presence commanded attention, and Harry's curiosity piqued as she addressed him directly.

"Mr. Potter," McGonagall began, her tone carrying a sense of importance. "I trust you remember our conversation earlier this year regarding the Defense Against the Dark Arts position?" Harry's mind raced as he recalled their previous discussion. He glanced at Charlie, a silent exchange passing between them before he turned back to McGonagall.

"Yes, Professor," Harry replied, a sense of realization dawning upon him. "I do remember." McGonagall regarded him with understanding, her expression softened by a hint of sympathy.

"I merely wanted to remind you of the offer, Mr. Potter. The position remains open should you choose to pursue it." Harry exchanged a knowing look with Charlie before turning back to McGonagall.

"Thank you, Professor. I appreciate the reminder, but I believe my place is elsewhere." McGonagall nodded, her respect for Harry evident in her eyes.

"Very well, Mr. Potter. I wish you both the best of luck in your endeavors." With that, McGonagall bid them farewell, leaving Harry and Charlie to ponder the future together, grateful for the bond that anchored them amidst life's uncertainties. Charlie turned to Harry with a curious gleam in his eyes.

"So, what happened while you were back?" Charlie inquired, his curiosity evident in his tone. Harry chuckled, a mischievous twinkle dancing in his eyes as he considered Charlie's question. Instead of offering a straightforward answer, he simply smiled and left his partner guessing. Charlie raised an eyebrow, a hint of frustration tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"Come on, love, don't keep me in suspense. What's so funny?" Harry's laughter bubbled up at Charlie's reaction, his amusement infectious as he watched his partner's puzzled expression.

"Oh, nothing much," Harry replied teasingly, enjoying the playful banter between them. Charlie let out an exasperated sigh, his curiosity piqued even further by Harry's cryptic response.

"You're impossible sometimes, you know that?" he remarked with a playful smirk, though there was a fondness in his tone that belied his frustration. Harry grinned, his eyes sparkling with mirth as he leaned in closer to Charlie.

"I'll tell you eventually," he promised, his voice laced with humor. "But for now, let's just enjoy the moment." They shared a knowing smile, content in each other's company as they savored the joy of the present, their unspoken connection speaking volumes amidst the laughter and camaraderie of the celebration.
