Wednesday, 2nd May

Dear diary, we celebrated Walpurgis and it was a magical and wonderful experience. I had never seen anything like it before.

The celebration began in the evening of the 30th of April at Prince Manor. Severus had organised everything and told us that Walpurgis was a special night when the arrival of spring was celebrated and evil spirits were warded off. It was an ancient magical tradition, full of magic and mystery.

Everyone I consider family was there: Dad, Julius, Draco, Cissy, Lucy, Bella, Ro, Ra, Mir, Luna, Xeno, and Pandy. I would have liked to invite my other two siblings, but James refused as soon as the name of the celebration was mentioned. We gathered in the back garden, which had been decorated with floating lights and enchanted flowers that glowed in the dark. The air was filled with the fragrance of flowers and the sound of magical music coming from small floating instruments.

Dad explained to us that on Walpurgis, witches and wizards performed protection and purification spells. First, we lit a large bonfire in the centre of the garden. The flames changed colours, and Sev told us this was to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck. We all took turns throwing small packets of magical herbs into the fire, and each time one of us did so, the flames changed colour and emitted a soft crackling sound that seemed to sing.

After the bonfire, Dad led us all to a stone circle in a more secluded part of the garden. He told us this was a sacred place and that we were going to perform a purification ritual. We all held hands and recited an ancient spell in Latin, guided by Sev and Pandy, who knew the words perfectly. I felt a warm energy flow through me as we said the words, and the whole garden seemed to glow with a magical light.

Then it was time for the fireworks, special ones that the twins had developed. They were still in the testing stage, but Dad said they were very well made. Draco and Julius were very excited about this. Lucy and Ra took charge of lighting them with their wands, and the night sky filled with splendid colours and shapes.

There were fire dragons roaring and flying through the sky, giant flowers exploding in bursts of colour, and stars falling slowly, leaving a sparkling trail behind them. I had never seen such beautiful fireworks.

While the fireworks continued to light up the sky, Cissy and Bella brought out a table full of food. There were cakes that changed flavour with each bite, cookies that moved like small animals before being eaten, and juices that bubbled and glowed. My favourite was a chocolate cake with small edible fireworks inside. Each bite was an explosion of flavour and light.

After eating, Dad and Pandy told us stories about Walpurgis. They talked about how witches and wizards of old used to gather on mountain tops to celebrate this magical night, dancing around large bonfires and performing spells to ensure a good harvest and protection against evil. Pandy also told us about the legends of witches flying on their brooms and wizards summoning nature spirits to bless them with special powers.

As we listened to the stories, we sat around the bonfire, which now burned with a soft and pleasant warmth. Dad gave each of us a wand with magical sparks that we could use to draw in the air. The sparks glowed and formed patterns that hung in the air for a few moments before fading away. I had a lot of fun drawing stars and hearts, and Luna made a beautiful drawing of a crescent moon that shone brightly before disappearing.

The night ended with a magical dance around the bonfire. Dad and Lucy played music with their wands, and we all joined in a joyful dance. Mir and Draco tried to do some complicated dance steps and fell over, but they got up laughing and continued dancing. It was a moment full of joy and togetherness.

When we finally went to sleep, I felt we had been part of something very special. The magic of Walpurgis had brought us all together and given us a night full of wonders and laughter. Today, as I write this, I can still feel the warmth of the bonfire and the joy of the dance in my heart. Ah! And surprisingly what seemed like one night was actually two! I still don't understand how that happened, I can only say it was the magic of Walpurgis.

I hope the next Walpurgis is just as magical!

See you!

Goodbye!
