Dear diary, It's only been three days since we arrived in Australia, and today I finally understand why there was so much hustle and bustle. Today is called Anzac Day, which for the Muggle side is a remembrance of the fallen during their First World War, but it's also an important day for the country's magical community.

It seems that on a day like today, there was a battle against the dark wizard Grindelwald, a battle so fierce that people still tend to walk the streets in fear. They say that Grindelwald managed to summon a small army of demons, truly terrifying creatures, at least if one trusts the images from the books.

It's said that it was only thanks to a kind of auror from the native tribes of the island who started a ritual with his people to purify the demons, a ritual that ended in his death. Not only that, but to this day, despite being celebrated, no one can remember the name of that brave person. Many don't even know if it was a man or a woman.

A truly remarkable story, but due to the lack of exact data, people have slowly forgotten why they celebrate. Despite trying everything to ensure that future generations remember, nothing seems to stop the progressive forgetting. Some, like the old book vendor who told us the story, believe that forgetting is part of the ritual itself.

Who knows...

Well, in a week, we're going to a Quidditch match! Even though I'm not a big fan of riding brooms, I can appreciate the sport. Besides, it seems they're going to perform something called the Haka, a dance rooted in the Maori culture of New Zealand, which apparently is the dance Anna has been wanting to see so much.

I find it a bit amusing that both the magical and Muggle cultures of the area share the same dance.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it!

Goodbye.
