Chapter 1

He really should know better by now. Everytime he tried to discover something about his life it ended even worse than before. It startet with finding out he was a wizard and than...

Boom

...oh yeah your parents died trying to protect you from some evil wizard guy, but don't feel bad about it.

Or yes of course you have a godfather... buuut he is out to get you and probably wants to sell you out to the wizard that is after your life.

And then there is hope, because it turns out your evil godfather isn't so evil after all and ge even wants to live with you, ohh nevermind you can't he is still on the run, it's to dangerous.

Right, as if living with the Dursley wasn't dangerous in and of itself. Just think of aunt Marges dogs, they were totally hellhounds and had the mission to drag harry into the hole of misery, where they were coming from.

Maybe aunt Marge was even as dangerous as the dogs, on second thought, maybe she was even more.

And really it's a wonder he survived this long, Vernon could have "accidently" sat on hin when he was a kid and would have totally crushed him to little pieces.
Or one big piece, depending on how he distributes all of his 600kgs.

But all the thinking on what ifs didn't matter anyways, he was stuck living with the Dursleys and that was that.

He didn't even know why he brewed the potion in the first place,
exept, well he did. The summer with the Dursleys was awful,
as always,
and when Hermione gifted him this book about potions and spells for his birthday, well there wasn't much else to do anyway.

So naturally Harry wanted to find out if he had any family beside the Dursleys. It wasn't even his intention to leave the Dursleys for some distant aunt, he just wanted to know if there was someone other, someone less horrible.

Yeah well, and what did he find? Not someone distant realated to him, nooo,
that would have been to easy.

No, he had to find out, that his father wasn't actually his father.

And if that wasn't bad enough, there on the paper, where James Potter should have shown, now stood Severus Snape.

In an angry red shade, as if even the writing on some piece of parchment wanted to mock him.

First there was unbelievment of course, then there was rage, at no one in paticular and everyone at once. Anger at Snape, for obivious reasons, anger at James for also obivious reasons, and also at bit at his mom, because well, she left him to deal with the fallout didn't she?

Then there was emptiness and sadness. It's really hard for teenagers to get to the deepths of their feelings.

He was actually really lucky he decided to brew this in the room of Requierment, he didn't wish all of hogwarts to hear him scream  in frustration. Naturally he did the test a second time.
And then a third... and a fourth.

The result stayed the same.

Only sad thing was, that the houseelves weren't allowed to give alcohol to the students. He really could have used some liquor courage.

Now the important question was, what to do with this information.

Obviously there was the easy way out:
Just don't tell a singel soul and forget the whole thing happend.

Sadly Harry knew himself pretty well. Forgetting something this mayor wasn't as easy as it sounded.

There were some other possibilities, most of them he didn't even wanted to think about. Some including telling an adult, or even Snaoe for that matter, but Harry didn't have a death wish.

Even if he did tell him, the man wasn't going to believe him.

He would probably throw him out by his ear, or worse he would kill him himself,
not that  one could fault Snape for wanting to do so.

Like who would believe something this ridiculous.

So Harry decide to just ignore it for the time being. Pretend nothing mayor life wracking happend the last 24 hours.

He knew he did a shit job at it. Hermione likely knew, something was up. She was giving him weird looks the rest of the evening and the next day.

But there was nothing to do about it. And speaking to her about it would just be acknowledging that there was in fact something going on with him.

But compared to potions class Hermione and her searching looks where nothing.

Harry knew he wasn't behaving like he always did, but it was like he couldn't focus on anything other, than the fact, that this man was his... his..
Yeah ok great he couldn't even think of it in the men's presence.

The sheer notion was absurd. Not even the twins could have come up with an idea as ridiculous as this.

They had basically nothing in common. Snape was Snape and Harry was...
Well not that.

At least there was one thing he could be certain of. The man didn't know.

If he did his insults would be way more nasty. And he wouldn't make so many references to his father. That was pure hatred, nobody could fake that.

And really, that knowledge soothed the inferno in Harry. He didn't think he could survive Snape knowing.

The lesson was coming to an end, and Harry knew he fucked up his potion brilliantly. There was no point in trying to turn this nasty goob of ingredients into something worth of a grade.

Even if he could have done without the mean comment from Snape, there was no pretending the man wasn't correct. Even Neville managed to make something halfway passable.

"5 Points from Gryffindor for this utter mess. Potter, you stay after class! How you managed to waste all ingredients is beyond my understanding, even a first year could have done this potion",  the dungeon bat sneered with a mean gleam in his eyes.

Oh great, if he had to spend even more time with the greasy potions master he might just explode.

The lesson was over, and he saw Ron giving him a pitying look over his shoulder as the rest of the students headed to the exit.

He heard a few Slytherins snicker and tried to ignore it, there was no reason to pick a fight, when Snape was just waiting to deduct more house points from him.

He felt a bit like a prisoner standing in front of the judge. Snape was standing in front of him with a scowl on his face as if he had to overbring unpleasant news. As if he was the punished one.

Actually if he thought about it, it was unusual for him to stay behind in snapes class. Normally he just deducted a few points, made a disgusting joke about his 'dad' and told him to get out of his sight.

Well, this wasn't soothing his nerves, if Snape caught on, that Harry found out things, he shouldn't have...

Maybe it was going to be a quick death....

"Soo, Potter", he spat.
