"I just don't want you to get hurt. " Tom Riddle said in a worried tone.
"Then don't hurt me. " Hegemone Potter stared coldly into his eyes as he loosened his grip on her arm.
"Hegemone, you know I'd never--" Hegemone didn't let him finish his sentence. She ripped her arm out of his reach and jammed her wand against his throat. Tom stood carefully still as he thought out his next move.
"When we first got together everything was fine, everything was . . . simple, enjoyable even. " Hegemone stated, pressing her wand harder into his Adam's Apple as she thought out her next words. "But then you started saying the most outrageous things! About how Muggleborns are unworthy of magic and how Muggles should just go extinct. I should've ended our relationship the moment the word mudblood was uttered out of our mouth. "
"Hegemone, you don't understand what I'm trying to do- what I'm trying to create! " Before she could even blink Tom had apparated behind her. His arm wrapped around her waist, efficiently trapping her against him. "A world without muggles is a world with peace. They're the reason why Dark magic is feared; why we're all hiding in this other world and have laws against using magic in front of them. " Hegemone struggled violently against his grip, "You just believe that because of what that bloody orphanage put you through!"
His few moments of silence were just what Hegemone needed to escape, "Stupefy!"
Tom apparated away to avoid being stunned while Hegemone stood her ground and pointed her wand at Tom the moment he reappeared. "Yeah, it sucks having to hide away our magic as though we're ashamed of it but just because I hate it doesn't mean I'll go and kill every Muggle in existence! "
"Hegemone, you still don't understand! Join me and you'll see. You'll see just what these Muggles would do if we are ever found. " Hegemone glared at him. She felt offended that he'd think, for even a second, that she'd help him kill innocent people. That's the most dishonorable thing a Potter could do. "They may not have magic but they are just as capable as you and I! "
"They're the scum of the earth, Hegemone, the dirt behind our boots. " Tom sighed with an indifferent expression, "Mone, if you truly like Muggles that much we'll keep some of them alive, if you join me that is? How about that? "
Hegemone could feel herself turning red with rage, "How could you possibly think that I'd join in murdering millions-- probably even more!-- just because you dislike them!" Seething with rage, Hegemone continued, "Why you're crueler than both Grindelwald and Lord Carrow combined! What you've just asked of me is the most dishonorable thing a Potter could do-- threaten the lives of innocents. "
"Mone--"
"Don't call me that! Now that you're starting to sprout this bullshit, just call me Potter. " Tom's expression didn't change but his eyes showed his shock for a split second before he controlled himself.
"No need to be dramatic, Hegemone. " Tom started walking towards her. "You'll regret not joining me when you realize just how much space those Muggles and Mudbloods are-" He didn't get to finish his sentence as Hegemone socked him in the face. He backed up, holding his nose, staring at Hegemone in disbelief and anger. "Don't say that slur in front of me! You know just as well as I do that Muggleborns are just as strong as Purebloods. Dorothy West was a powerful Muggleborn from the 1890s surpassing even Grindelwald in strength!"
Tom sneered, blood flowing out of his nose as he said, "Can't believe I thought you would be on my side, after all you're a Gryffindor. A courageous and light house that hates anything dark. "
Outraged, Hegemone shouted out, "Stupefy!"
Tom dodged the charm, "Predictable, like always. " That was the last thing he said before his blood coated face apparated away; this time not returning.
Hegemone stood in that forest for a few more minutes before eventually sighing crestfallen and angrily and apparating away also.
