Heart-to-Heart
The foundation was thriving, and Harry and Ron were busier than ever. Yet, amidst the hectic schedule, they found time for each other, cherishing the quiet moments that reminded them of their bond. One evening, after a particularly exhausting day, they decided to take a walk in the Burrow's garden, seeking solace in the familiar surroundings.
As they strolled hand in hand, the twilight casting a gentle glow around them, Ron broke the comfortable silence. "Harry, do you remember when we talked about starting a family?"
Harry nodded, glancing at Ron with a soft smile. "Of course I do. It's something I've thought about a lot."
Ron stopped walking, turning to face Harry. "I've been thinking about it more recently. With everything going so well with the foundation, it feels like the right time to start planning for the future. I want us to have a family, Harry. I want us to have kids."
Harry felt a surge of warmth and affection for Ron. "I want that too, Ron. More than anything. But how do we go about it? There are so many options."
Ron took a deep breath, his expression serious but hopeful. "I've been thinking... what if we ask Hermione to be our surrogate? She's already such an important part of our lives, and I know she would do anything for us."
Harry considered this, feeling a sense of excitement mixed with nervousness. "Hermione would be an amazing surrogate. But it's a big thing to ask of her. We need to make sure she's comfortable with it and that it won't be too much for her."
Ron nodded, his eyes filled with determination. "I know. We need to talk to her, explain how much it would mean to us, and give her time to think about it. But I have a feeling she'll say yes. She's always been there for us."
The next day, they invited Hermione over for dinner, wanting to create a relaxed atmosphere for the important conversation. As they sat around the table, sharing stories and laughter, Harry felt a sense of gratitude for the unwavering support of their best friend.
After dinner, as they moved to the living room for dessert, Harry and Ron exchanged a glance, silently agreeing that it was time. Ron cleared his throat, catching Hermione's attention.
"Hermione, there's something we need to talk to you about," Ron began, his tone gentle but serious. "It's something very important to us, and we want you to know that you can say no if you're not comfortable with it."
Hermione looked curious, setting down her teacup. "Of course, Ron. What is it?"
Harry took a deep breath, his heart pounding. "Hermione, you know how much we love and trust you. We've been talking about starting a family, and we were wondering if you would consider being our surrogate."
Hermione's eyes widened in surprise, and she glanced between them, her expression thoughtful. "Wow, that's... that's a big ask. But it's also an incredible honor. I need some time to think about it, but I want you to know that I'm truly touched that you would consider me for something so important."
Ron reached out, taking her hand. "Take all the time you need, Hermione. We just wanted you to know how much it would mean to us. We wouldn't want to go through this journey with anyone else."
Hermione smiled, her eyes glistening with emotion. "Thank you, Ron. Thank you, Harry. I'll think about it and let you know soon."
As Hermione left that evening, Harry and Ron felt a sense of hope and anticipation. They knew that no matter what her decision was, their friendship and bond would remain unbreakable.
