part 3

Draco grabbed his father’s cold hands, feeling a small pang of happiness because he was spending time with his father.

However, Draco still felt mostly fear, which was increased greatly when witnessing the way Lucius caused crowds to part in an extremely busy Diagon Alley.

Draco always knew his father was extremely powerful, but seeing it in person made him quite… nervous, so to say.

He thinks it’s because his father’s that one word that starts with A. Oh yeah, Alpha. Whatever that means.

Draco’s thoughts were interrupted by the abrupt stop of Lucius beside him.

“Draco.” Lucius said, peering down at his son. “Get your robes fitted here. Madame Malkin will watch you until I return, I have some business to attend to.”

Upon saying so, Lucius turned around sharply and walked away without a second word.

Draco, nervous of being left alone, quickly entered the shop.

“Draco Malfoy, is it? Your father has let me know of your fitting. Do not fret, I will take good care of you while he’s out darling”, An old, kind looking lady said from behind the register.

Draco put on his most polite smile and thanked the lady. He quite liked her, she seemed kind.

While getting fitted by the lady who is presumably the Madame Malkin his father had talked to him about, Draco encounters another boy next to him.

Suddenly, the excitement about Hogwarts comes rushing to the blonde boy along with the urge to make a bunch of friends.

“Hi!” Draco said, smiling kindly. “Hogwarts, too?” The dark haired boy with quite banged up glasses nodded shyly.

Draco immediately light up and couldn’t stop himself from talking a great deal to the poor boy.

“I’m most excited for Quidditch at Hogwarts. Father wouldn’t buy me a broom as he always said I was too young, but I've played a couple times at my friend’s house. And I loved it! You already know I will be there at every single game and try out there is. Anyways, do you play quidditch at all?”

“No” The boy said, listening intently but looking quite embarrassed when he couldn’t reciprocate the conversation.

“That’s alright, I'm sure you will fall in love with the sport too! Maybe in the future if we’re both in Slytherin, we can play together. By the way, know what house you’ll be in yet?”

“um… w-what are those?”

“Ah. You must be muggle born. Actually, I’m not supposed to be talking to muggle borns, but my father isn’t here and I don’t really care! Also, the houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. I wouldn’t mind being in any of the houses, but I already know if I don’t get into Slytherin my father would practically disown me” Draco said with a chuckle.

The dark haired boy looked at Draco and saw the slight sadness in his eyes while he laughed. "I-I think you're really pre-" the boy started before being interrupted by Draco's astonishment by something.

A big burly man was seen in the window. He was almost twice as tall as a normal man and at least five times as wide.

Long tangles of bushy black hair and beard hid most of his face, but Draco still thought he looked kind.

“Woah”, Draco said, clearly showing his inexperience with half-giants.

The dark haired boy spoke up, clearly excited that he could share something that Draco didn’t know.

“That’s Hagrid! He’s the gamekeeper at Hogwarts.”

“That’s brilliant! Um… what would a gamekeeper do anyways?” Draco asked, clearly embarrassed with his question.

“That’s er good question. ‘m also known as the Keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts. I look after the school and yer security too”, the so-called Hagrid said, walking in the shop and holding up a beautiful snowy owl.

"Hi Hagrid!" Draco exclaimed, a huge smile on his face. "I can't believe you work for Hogwarts! I've been waiting in great anticipation ever since i've gotten my letter, so I'm so happy to be meeting someone who works there! Can I visit you sometime during the school year? What house were you in when you went to Hogwarts? Is the sorting ceremony really hard? Oh my god, you've got to tell me ALL about quidditch at Hogwarts!"

Hagrid chuckled deeply, amused with the enthusiasm the blonde boy was showing.

Just before Hagrid was about to answer, a sneery voice appeared, the disgust apparent.

"Draco. What have I told you about talking to... these kind of people?" Lucius said, gripping the shoulders of the blonde boy harshly.

"I'm sorry father." Draco said, careful not to stutter.

"I'll take this as you're done with the fitting of your robes."

"Yes father." Draco said, bowing his head slightly.

"Hagrid." Lucius said, turning to face the half-giant. Even though Hagrid overpowered him immensely in size, there was something about Lucius that seemed... domineering.

"Hope everything is going well for my son's stay in a couple weeks. Well, if you'll excuse me." He said, pulling Draco out of the store harshly, leaving the two people in the store shocked by the interaction.

Well, mainly just Hagrid. It seems as though the boy with glasses turned a bright shade of red.

"He's beautiful." he muttered quietly to himself. It seems as though the boy has a crush.
