Chapter 1
Dumbledore felt like an old fool as sat in the waiting room of the muggle hospital wearing a suit instead of his usual robes. It was great for blending in even if it was uncomfortable. The head nurse had given him a verbal tongue lashing berating him for never visiting after he'd lied and told them he was Harry's grandfather. In some way he was like Harry's grandfather; he'd always been close with James and Lily but ever since the night he dropped their son off with his aunt and uncle. Dumbledore had stayed away; he'd believed it was better that way. Harry didn't need someone like him in his life, especially after he'd got James and Lily killed by dragging them into that stupid war. As he sat there mind racing, one of the hospital's nurses came up and led him though the halls. finally arriving at the room Dumbledore stepped inside. That feeling of being a fool surged inside of Dumbledore as he looked at the still form of young Harry Laying In the bed. tubes and wires from the muggle devices connecting to his thin body. but one device instantly caught his attention because it seemed out of place among the rest. Harry's eyes were covered by what appeared bulky box shaped mask “may I ask what that is” following Dumbledore gaze to the strange mask the nurse let out a sigh “I probably shouldn't tell you this but we don't know and before you ask we have already tried to remove it but it's stuck on tight and the doctors don't want to risk trying to remove it with surgery well he's asleep.”
Hearing this Dumbledore knew he needed to get a look at that mask “young lady would you give me some time alone with my grandson” with a node of her head the nurse left the room. Making sure no one saw he whipped out his wand and put a quick muggle repelling charm on the door as well as a few other charms on the room. Finishing the charms Dumbledore made his way over to the side of the bed gently lifting up Harry's head and began his examination. Dumbledore started by trying to remove the mask but as the nurse said it was stuck tight. Mind filled with thoughts Dumbledore waved his wand using a spell to analyze young Harry’s body he found no physical reason the young boy should be asleep this reinforced the idea the coma was being caused by the mask.
Quickly making up his mind Dumbledore decided he needed to get that mask off. Waving his wand again as he began to cast Another spell Dumbledore found it easy at first but as minutes passed by he encountered more and more resistance from the mask sweat slowly gathered on his brow from the exertion. As Dumbledore pushed more magic into the spell to compensate for the resistance many of the smaller items in the room began shack in response with each passing seconds it seemed to get harder and harder to breathe falling to one knee hands wrapped around the violently shaking wand as the various object in the room know spun through the air. Pushing everything he had left into the spell Dumbledore watched through blurred vision as the mask shot upward, embedding itself in the ceiling.
