Reunion And Cuteness
“Thanks for watching Callum, Julian. I know Sally appreciated the break” Cyrus remarked as he walked through the door with Callum cuddled into his arms while Julian followed behind him with a couple of boxes of pizzas and Leo clinging to his leg.
“It was nothing, I’m used to being the designated babysitter whenever Arven or Briar are busy, the number of times Gabriel has dumped Theo into my arms and then booked it down the street is astronomical” He remarked in amusement and Cyrus chuckled at the mental image.
“Do you mind putting those in the kitchen while I gather up the others?” He requested and Julian simply nodded as he slipped out of the room with Leo trailing behind him like a little duckling. Cyrus grinned in amusement before turning to look at Techno as he stepped into the room.
“Can you tell me a bit more about this special guest we have? Is she someone to be concerned about?” He questioned immediately and his son rolled his eyes slightly as he pulled out his tablet.
“Sally got distracted and only gave me the information she got from the woman's wallet, her name is Dawn Inanas, she’s 22 and her birthday is March 20” He listed off in a bored tone of voice and Cyrus hummed offhandedly as he adjusted his grip on Callum.
“But I’m assuming you’ve done some research?” He remarked and Techno grunted as he stared down at his tablet as if it had personally offended him.
“I have but I admittedly can’t find much” He grumbled in annoyance and Cyrus raised a curious eyebrow at this.
“Oh?” He questioned and Techno simply nodded offhandedly as he continued to scroll.
“She works three jobs, lives in the shitty part of town alone and a bunch of other useless information. I haven’t even been able to find records of any family members which is very odd” He listed off before pausing briefly.
“The most interesting thing I can find is that she has a restraining order against an ex-boyfriend named Logan Walker, why is that name familiar?” He grunted questioningly as he glanced at Cyrus who tilted his head thoughtfully, why was that name familiar? He eventually shook his head to dismiss the thought for now and instead focused on the matter at hand.
“Have you spoken to her?” He asked and Techno shook his head as he put his tablet away.
“No, but Sally has” He said as he gestured with his head towards the living room and Cyrus hummed as he peaked his head in slightly to get a look and saw Sally speaking with a young blonde-haired woman wearing one of her old sweaters while Ezran slept cuddled up next to her.
“I don’t think I’ve seen Ezran get that attached to someone so quickly” He mumbled in surprise, most people would get their hand bit if they got too close to Ezran but this stranger had him cuddled right up next to her like a docile kitten.
“I think it's the hero worship” Techno remarked as he peaked into the room as well and Cyrus tilted his head thoughtfully.
“I’m not so sure” He mumbled softly as he turned to look at Sally only to raise a curious eyebrow when he saw the warmth in his daughter's eyes, it was the same kind of look she used to give Faybelle before the incident. It seems like Ezran wasn’t the only one to get attached, interesting.
“What are you guys mumbling about?” Julian questioned as he approached them with Leo now propped up on his hip.
“Techno was just telling me about our guest” Cyrus remarked as he turned to face the other man who tilted his head curiously.
“Oh?” He questioned and Techno hummed as he turned around as well.
“Ezran almost got stabbed by a group of thugs this afternoon and this woman came to his rescue, now both he and Sally seemed to have grown attached” He said simply and Julian’s eyes widened a little in surprise.
“Is Ezran okay?” He asked worriedly and Techno’s expression softened ever so slightly, Julian was such a protective mama bird.
“He’s fine, miss hero on the other hand got stabbed twice but we were able to patch her up” He reassured and Julian nodded a little relieved.
“How about we go meet her instead of whispering in the hall?” Cyrus suggested and the duo nodded before they all headed into the living room only for Julian to suddenly stop as his jaw dropped in shock earning him curious looks from Techno and Cyrus.
“Dawn?!” He questioned loudly startling the two on the couch who turned to look at him only for Dawn’s eyes to widen in surprise.
“Julian?” She mumbled in surprise before a wide smile appeared on her face as she scrambled to her feet only to almost fall on her face from getting up too fast.
“Careful there” Sally said with a slight chuckle and Dawn grinned sheepishly before speed-walking towards Julian to pull him into a hug.
“I’ve missed you” She mumbled and Julian’s expression softened as he leaned into the hug, completely forgetting about Leo who was getting squished in the middle of them.
“Who are you?” Leo asked and Dawn blinked a little in surprise as she pulled away and for the first time noticed the young child in Julian’s arms.
“Why hello there, I’m Dawn” She introduced herself and Leo tilted his head for a moment before his eyes lit up.
“You’re the pretty lady in Papa’s old pictures that he’s always looking at!” He announced cheerfully leading to Julian and Dawn blushing bright red while Sally laughed as she accepted Callum from her father.
“Papa?” Dawn asked as she glanced back at Julian who looked like he wished that the floor would swallow him up.
“This is my son Leo” He explained and Dawn’s eyes widened a little in surprise before they softened as a warm smile appeared on her face.
“I always knew you’d back a great dad” She remarked warmly which just made Julian’s blush deepen.
“You're even prettier than Papa’s old pictures” Leo suddenly remarked which made Dawn blush while Julian groaned and buried his face into his son's hair to hide how red his face had gotten, Leo was going to be the death of him.
“See Julian this is why you gotta teach ‘em young not to snitch on you, right Callum?” Sally remarked teasingly as she glanced down at her son who just tilted his head curiously at her while Dawn let out a soft cooing sound as she turned to face them.
“Awe aren’t you just adorable” She cooed and Callum blinked at her before letting out a little giggle and giving her a tiny wave which just melted Dawn and Sally's hearts.
“What’s with all the racket?” Ezran groaned as he sat up and rubbed his eyes tiredly.
“Don’t worry about it Ez, it’s time for dinner” Cyrus announced with a warm smile on his face which made Ezran perk up and immediately rush to Dawn's side so that he could latch onto her hand.
“Dawn you’ve got to sit next to me okay?” He requested eagerly and Dawn chuckled fondly as she used her other hand to ruffle the younger blonde's hair.
“Of course Ez” She said warmly which made Ezran’s grin grow tenfold before he dragged her towards the kitchen while the others watched on fondly.
