The warm breeze brushed against my face as I walked out of the cafe.
A cup of coffee in my head and my working bag ready for an interview,
Coffee would diffinly keep me up.
I took a deep breath in as my cab driver drove up to me greeting me with a smile, returning the smile back to him. I opened the door and sat in the car, chugging down my coffee.
“So Ti where are you going?” He said adjusting his mirror.
Delighty I answered his question.
“Oh! I’m getting this interview at this place called..” I pause for a moment trying to remember the name of the company.
“Dimitrescu..comp..I think that’s what it’s called.”
A shocked face appeared on Andrew’s face as he stopped at a red light.
“Is that so?” He said, looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
I nodded my head.
Andrew’s always been sort of like a friend and personal driver, and a father to be, so saying him acting like this sort of shook me.
I raised my eyebrow back at him mimicking him.
“I wonder if you did research on the place you're trying to get hired at..”he said, sighing, stepping on the gas as soon as the light turned green.
“Why are we going fast?” I asked, squeezing my empty coffee cup.
“Well the boss there..doesn’t appreciate lateness.” He said, turning down the window letting the breeze pass though.
Oh?
“How did you even get the job?” He asks one hand on the steering wheel and one on his chin.
“Oh I thought you would have already know? Jessica knows the boss or something..and I got fired..from my last job..so she said she’ll get me one here!”
I responded looking out the window avoiding eye contact, knowing Andrew he was probably gonna tell me some life lesson or something. I don’t know..
“You're only 22 you should focus on your studies!” He said racing through traffic.
I hummed in response, blowing a sigh.
After a few minutes I arrived at my destination.
The building was big as hell…very big..how come I never noticed this?
I walked up the entrance, thoughts racing through my brain as I approached the huge golden doors.
“Good luck.” I looked behind him seeing Andrew waving at me with a big grin on his face..with a hint of worry..
I waved back, mouthing bye Andrew.
The inside was even more amazing..a little..extra..but that’s ok I like extra.
“Hello you must be..Tijani?” A lady with dark black hair asked, slightly adjusting her glasses as she looked up at me.
“Um yeah!.”
"You should have said “yes I am Tijani” you idiot..gotta sound professional..or something”
The lady looked at me for a moment..sighing a bit she got up from her seat..she was really tall..really..
“Come with me Ms.Macy the office to Ms. Dimitrescu is here.”
She looks at me an awkward smile flashing across her face,
“Apologies for not introducing myself” she said calmly looking forward, as her loud heels clacking on the marble floor.
“My name Is Donna, you may call me that if you please.” She said stopping at an elevator.
What a pretty name.
“Ms. Dimitrescu's office is on the 12th floor I believe...no im sure of it” she whispered.
‘Doesn’t sound like it’
“Let's get into here before we are late..” she said, stepping into the elevator.
She taps the 12th button, I hold on to the railing of the elevator, as I felt myself being pushed up.
A ding brought my attention to the doors opening, revealing an even bigger hall,
In the middle there seemed to be a front desk..like the one down stairs but bigger, there was a blonde haired woman..she looked older than me..but no too too old.
Miss. Donna led me out the elevator and approached the front desk, I followed right behind her like a dog.
“Bela..is your mother here..” Donna asks, resting her elbow on the desk.
The girl who i amused is Bela rolled eyes
“Yeah she is. I don’t know your asking me this you should know” she replied
I mentally gasped with how much attitude this girl was giving off, collecting myself,
I looked over to Donna who murmured something underneath her breath.
“Good..thank you dear.”
Bela hummed in response, fixing her hair.
“Tijani..I must warn you..Ms. Dimitrescu can be a very..um angry person at times..but be professional, you look like you have potential to work here!” Donna whispered.
She knocked on the door in a certain tune, maybe some sort of code.
A deep..smoothing voice spoke,
“Come in..”
Donna looked at me and nodded her head.
“Alcina, the new assistant is here.” Donna said her tone changed admittedly.
“Oh?Is it the girl Jessica was talking about?” The woman asked
Donna hummed in response.
A moment passed..
“You may leave.” The woman said waving her hand at Donna,
Donna nodded her head in response.
The door closing echoed across the room.
Now it was just me and this mystery lady..how can some with such a clam voice have anger issues?.
“Miss. Macy I’ll appreciate it if you look up at me..not a good start..”
I wished I looked up sooner..
What a pretty face..
“s..sorry Ms. Dimi..um”
“Dimitrescu.” She said rolling her eyes,
This isn’t good at all…
“Now let's get started?”
