Another adventure of Shadow. Just something to wile the time away. I don’t expect much traffic on this one. Leave a review, it’s the only payment I get. Suggestions for Shadow’s next adventure would be appreciated and taken into consideration.

Harry Potter was sitting in the swing set at the little park in Little Whinging, Surrey. He had just gotten out of his third year of Hogwarts and met his godfather, Sirius Black. Sirius had had to go back on the run because he was wanted by the law. It was a disappointment because Harry thought he was going to take him in and now he was feeling sad for himself. He looked up and saw his cousin was coming for him and reached for his wand because he was going to scare him.
“I wouldn't do that if I were you. It's a futile effort,” said a voice next to him.
“Who the hell are you?” asked Harry. Sitting next to him on a swing was a man that was much older than him that looked like his dad only with green eyes. There was a scar on his forehead like Harry’s. He wore dark clothes, jeans, t-shirt and jacket, all black. It confused Harry a bit, because the man looked… dark? Mean? Scary? Well, he didn’t look like someone Harry wanted to meet in a dark alley. Like the kind your primary teacher warned you about taking candy from.
“I'm you,” said the man with a casual raise of his shoulder. His voice was rich and smooth.
“You can't be me. I'm me,” said Harry indignantly. That didn’t make any sense to him. He knew there were two of him running around last year but they were both the same age. He didn’t think Time Turners worked on this level. However, there was the scar on the man’s forehead.
“I'm you from the future, idiot,” said the man. “I’ve traveled back in time to help you out,” he added, quirking an eyebrow. “I’m actually from a different reality,” he added, leaning back in the swing and swinging a bit. It made him look relaxed and cool.
“Are you here to take me away?” asked Harry, getting excited at the prospect. The man didn’t look that scary now. He was him, and if he couldn’t trust him, who could he trust?
“Not quite,” said the man, scrunching up his brow.
“Then go away,” said Harry, slumping in defeat. He really just wanted to get away from the Dursleys. That was his primary wish at the moment. It was all he thought about.
“Don't be like that. I'm here to help you find your godfather,” said the man, leaning sideways, causing the two swings to bump into each other. Like a playful nudge to brighten the boy up.
“Are you really? How are we going to do that?” the young teen asked, his smile finally showing on his lips. That would be great. Sirius could come and take him away. He’d find a way to get free and they’d live happily ever after.
“Well, the first thing we're going to do is go back to your house and get your owl,” the future Harry said, nodding in the direction of #4 Privet drive.
“How's that going to help us?” asked Harry, furrowing his forehead. He didn’t get how Hedwig would be helpful. Who would they be writing? He didn’t know where Sirius was. Maybe Remus?
“We're going to write to Sirius and tell him to get his bloody arse back to England,” the man stated in a firm voice. Like it was a given.
“I didn't know he was out of England,” Harry said, a bit disappointed that Sirius had left the country. He thought the man would have stayed closer to him.
“Yeah, he's on some tropical island right now, but he's going to come back because we're going to tell him to. Then we're going to go to Diagon Alley and stay at the Leaky Cauldron for a couple days,” the older man said, laying out the plans for the next few days.
“So you are here to take me away? Then why didn't you say so?” Harry said, getting really excited. He was all but bouncing in the swing now.
“I'm not here to take you away, per se, I'm here to… take you on vacation,” the still unnamed man stated. Well, Harry knew his name, but he couldn’t very well call him Harry, that would be confusing.
“It's the same difference, moron,” Harry said, shaking his head.
“Hey, no need for name calling. Call me Shadow,” the now named Shadow said, putting his hand out for Harry to shake.
“You called me an idiot earlier,” Harry said, shaking the proffered hand. He smirked to show he was just playing around.
“I'm older than you are. I'm allowed,” Shadow stated, getting up and dusting off his trousers. He looked at Dudley and his gang who were standing around waiting for him to go away so they could harass Harry. He narrowed his eyes at the group, and they all looked warily back at him.
“That doesn't make any sense,” Harry said, also eyeballing his cousin.
“You're lucky I didn't call you anything stronger,” Shadow stated, looking at his younger self with a raised eyebrow.
“You seem to be meaner,” Harry said, quirking an eyebrow in a questioning manner. Like he was wondering what happened in his life that turned him into such a badarse.
“Let's just say I went through a lot more shite than you have,” the man offered with a shrug. “And I know the shite you’ve been through. So, you know it must have been worse,” he added.
“Must you cuss so?” Harry asked, frowning. He knew Hermione would chastise him if he cussed that much.
“Like I said, I've been through a lot more shite than you have,” the unrepenting man stated, turning back to the kids trying to lay ambush. He just glared at them, then he made a stomping motion at them, and they scattered.
“I see,” said Harry as he laughed at Dudley’s antics. He knew his cousin was a coward.
“Come on, let's get back to your house and get Hedwig,” Shadow said, nudging him out of the swing.
Harry complied and they made their way to Privet drive.

“Who the hell are you?” asked Petunia as the two of them walked through the door of her house. She thought it was James Potter, but the man never looked that rugged. That and Potter was dead.
“You may call me Shadow,” said Shadow, giving her a withered look. He didn’t even pause as they made their way to the stairs. Harry was walking hurriedly in front of him. He didn’t want to confront his aunt. He just wanted shot of the place.
“Why do you look like Harry?” asked Petunia, moving to the foot of the stairs to continue the conversation. She wanted to know why this man was in her house. If he was going to take the freak, she needed to know why in case the head freak asked. And she was sure that Dumbledore would show up sooner or later asking where the boy had gone.
“Because I'm him from the future,” was the answer as if it were obvious.
“Well, what are you doing here?” she asked, gobsmacked by his answer, but blowing it off as cheek. Even with magic that was impossible. This man had to be a relative from that side of the family.
“We just came to use the owl,” he said, standing at the top of the stairs, while Harry was in his room getting some ink and parchment out. “Then I’m taking the brat for the rest of the summer,” he stated, not giving her the rest of their plans.
“Well, use it and get out,” she said, like she could order them about.
So the two of them quickly wrote a letter to Sirius telling him to get his arse back into England. Then they rapidly packed Harry's trunk and hauled it downstairs. They went outside using Shadow’s wand and called the Knight Bus. It was only a matter of 10 minutes or so, and they were standing outside a hotel near the Leaky Cauldron. Shadow decided they would stay in the muggle world. That way Dumbledore wouldn’t find them.
“What are we going to do now, Shadow?” asked Harry as they sat in the room they rented. It was a nice room that had two beds and a desk. There were two comfortable chairs and a small table between them. There was a rug on the floor that had seen better days, but it kept the chill off the toes in the morning, so it did its job. There was a telly and a small refrigerator.
“Well, first thing we're going to do is get you a new wardrobe. You look like shite in those clothes,” the man said, picking at Harry’s too big shirt and wrinkling his nose. It was one of Dudley’s castoffs. It was at least three times too big on Harry.
“But then won't Uncle Vernon know that I have money,” Harry asked, that being one of the reasons he never bought new clothes in the first place. He never wanted his relatives to know about all the gold he had. They’d take it from him in a heartbeat.
“Who gives a shite what that fat arse knows? He can’t take it from you. That’s what the goblins are for. They guard it for you. He’s a muggle. He can’t go there. There’s no way he can make you go and get it for him. If he threatens you, you go to Diagon Alley and disappear into the wizarding world, and he’ll never find you again. I don’t know what you’re worried about,” Shadow said, shrugging his shoulders in a casual manner. It was all common sense to him.
“Seriously, must you cuss so much?” Harry asked again.
“I'll speak as I like,” was the comeback.
“Fine, we'll get me new clothes and then what?” the teen said resigned to listening to a potty mouth.
“Then you do your homework and then we'll figure it out from there,” Shadow suggested. Even though he didn’t want the boy to return to that school he did want him to do his homework. He wanted him to engage his brain.
“Must I do my homework?” Harry whinged. He hated doing his homework in the summer months. It was a time for relaxation not homework.
“You want to be smart, don't you?” Shadow asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Yeah, but it's divination and potions,” came another whinge. He had done his other homework already, but potions meant thinking of Snape, and divinations was boring.
“You're the idiot that chose divinations. And potions are a must to know,” was the unsympathetic reply.
“You chose it too,” Harry countered, pointing a finger at his older self.
“And I was a fucking idiot for doing so,” Shadow stated, with another casual shrug. He knew he was a lazy bugger for taking that class. He should have taken Ancient Runes.
“Well, what do you suggest?” Harry asked, folding his arms in a defiant manner.
“My suggestion is you don't go back to Hogwarts,” his older counterpart said, copying him in crossing his arms.
“What? Not go back to Hogwarts? Are you insane?” Harry all but shouted. Then he saw the man was serious. He got a blank look on his face and stared.
“Hogwarts is a dangerous place to be. I should know. I went there for six years,” Shadow said, with a deadly glare.
“Six? Hogwarts is a seven-year school,” Harry pointed out. He was confused.
“Shows you how dangerous it is because I only went for six years,” was the smug reply.
“What did you do during your seventh year?” Harry asked, very curious as to what the other man had done during that year.
“Ran for my life, that's what. There was a war going on,” Shadow said as if he were talking about the weather.
“A war? With who?” Harry asked with a sinking feeling in his stomach. He didn’t want it to be true. He knew who it was, but…
“You're not that stupid. You know who,” Shadow said giving him a withering look.
“You're telling me he comes back?” Harry asked in a small voice.
“That's right.”
“And you had to fight him.” It wasn’t a question.
“That's right.”
“And it's all because of Hogwarts?” This time it was a question. Because this time it didn’t make sense to Harry.
“Again, correct,” Shadow said, not unkindly.
“And I'm going to have to fight him?” Harry asked, looking around the room like there was an answer for a way out of this.
“Not if you don't go back to Hogwarts,” the man said, like that was logical.
“How does me not going back to Hogwarts pertain to me not fighting him?” the teen asked, there was doubt in his voice.
“Because then you'll be out of Dumbledore's influence,” Shadow said, dropping that bomb on him.
“What the bloody hell does Dumbledore have to do with it?” a shocked Harry asked, though in his heart of hearts he knew the answer.
“Because he's the one that starts it all,” his older self said, looking him dead in the eye with a ‘you know I’m right’ look.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up. You mean Dumbledore is the one who makes me fight Voldemort?” Harry asked, getting up and pacing around the room. One hand going to his hair and grabbing it in a frustrated manner.
“Yes.”
“So, you're getting me to write Sirius so that he can take me away from Hogwarts?” he asked, like it was all falling into place now.
“Yes, now you get it,” Shadow said, clapping at him like a job well done.
“I have to think about this,” Harry said, heading for the door.
“Take all the time you need,” Shadow said, watching him go. He’d follow him in a moment. There was no way he was going to let him wander out there alone. Not in the state he was in, but he’d give him his space.

Harry wandered around London for a while. He was thinking about what Shadow said. Would it be better to leave? He hadn’t been safe the three years he had been there. His life had been in danger there, that was true. Shadow said it would get worse. Maybe he should leave. Sirius could take him away. He was on the run though. What kind of life would that be?
He ran these thoughts through his head for an hour as he walked. He didn’t even notice Shadow following him the entire time. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts, that Shadow was right behind him.
“Well, what do you think?” the man said as he came up to him.
“I thought you were going to let me think?” Harry said, wary of him being there.
“I did. I gave you an hour,” Shadow said, looking at him thoughtfully.
“You said to take all the time I needed,” the teen snarked, turning and going back to the hotel.
“Do you need more time?” was the next question.
“No, I think you’re right. Hogwarts isn’t going to do me any good,” Harry said, sullenly. “Do you know how long it’ll take Sirius to get here?” he asked, wondering when his godfather would come.
“A few days at least,” Shadow stated.
“Damn,” Harry said, shaking his head in disappointment. He had been hoping for sooner. What with magic being what it was.
“Hedwig will take a day at least to get to the island,” the man pointed out.
“Right,” the teen said, realizing that fact to be true. “Let’s go get that wardrobe. There’s a clothes’ store down there,” he said seeing a department store just down the road.
“It’s not Harrod’s but it’ll do,” Shadow said, mockingly. He wasn’t a snob, he just wanted to tweak the boy’s nose.
“I wouldn’t know what to do at Harrod’s anyway,” Harry said, wrinkling his nose. He didn’t want anything that prestigious. They made their way to the department store and found some clothes for Harry. It wasn’t until they got to the checkout that Harry remembered all his money was in wizard form.
“Don’t worry, I have this,” Shadow said, pulling out some cash. He had a credit card, but he didn’t think it would work in this dimension. Then again this wasn’t in the day and age that computers could check it right away. It was still in the sliding and signing stage. Nah, he wasn’t going to rip off the good people of their well-deserved money.
“Thanks, I’ll catch you back,” Harry said, nodding his head to the clerk.
The young woman nodded back as she rung them up. To her they looked like brothers. Shadow winked at her, and she giggled, but continued to ring up their purchases. There weren’t many of them, and soon they were done and out the door.
“Sirius isn’t going to be able to stay here in England anyway, so where do you think we should go?” Harry asked Shadow as they walked back to the hotel.
“Well, the last Harry I helped went to Australia. He lived a good life there, as far as I know. I didn’t stay long,” the man said, carrying the bags and slowly walking along. He wasn’t in a hurry, and they weren’t pressed for time.
“I don’t think I want to go to Australia,” Harry said, thoughtfully. He had nothing against the place, but he didn’t want to be a copycat. He wanted to try something different.
“You can go to America, but then you’d have to deal with MACUSA. Not that they’re a bad lot, but they are much stricter than this government,” Shadow said, making sure that Harry understood that. Not that that was a bad thing.
“I can deal with that,” Harry said, not worried about laws and such. “Do you think they’d give Sirius asylum?” he asked, hoping to get his godfather a fair shake.
“I think they will if he applies for it before he leaves here,” Shadow said reflectively. “I will write out the letter tonight and all Sirius would have to do is read it and sign it when he gets here.” He knew just how to phrase it to let MACUSA think they were getting one over on the British Ministry of Magic. The two governments didn’t like each other. They were always trying to out political one another.
“Thanks,” Harry said, beaming at him.

The two of them toured London for the next two days, making them the most enjoyable days of Harry’s life. They did pick up some disguises and went into Diagon Alley and got Harry’s gold out of the bank. Not all of it, since there were Gringotts in America, and he could transfer it to there. They spent very little of Harry’s money, and Shadow lavished the teen with many small gifts. Nothing too extravagant, just touristy stuff. Things Harry always wanted, but never was allowed to have. Like stuffed animals, British flags on sticks, or ball caps with sports symbols on them.
Harry soaked it all up like he wasn’t a native.
One day when they came back from touring the palace, there was a large black dog waiting for them near their hotel. Shadow led them down an alley and had Sirius change back to human when they got to the end of the alley.
“I’m going to put a Notice-Me-Not on you. Try not to draw attention to yourself,” he instructed the other man.
“Who the hell are you?” Sirius asked, brandishing his wand. He didn’t like that there was a stranger near Harry. Even if he did look like James.
“Sirius,” Harry said, quickly getting in front of Shadow. “He’s safe,” he told his godfather.
“You don’t know who he is,” Sirius said, not lowering his wand, but moving it around, trying to get it angled to where it would be pointed at Shadow and not Harry. He wasn’t having any luck. Harry kept moving so he was in front of the wand no matter what.
“I do know who he is,” Harry rebutted. “You’ll just have to trust me,” he added, putting his hand on his godfather’s arm.
“Fine,” the dogman said, lowering his wand and putting it in his sleeve. He never took his eyes off Shadow.
Shadow just smirked. He lifted his wand and cast the Notice-Me-Not spell and motioned for the other man to follow them. They went to their room, Sirius followed, making sure not to draw anyone’s attention. Once they got inside, Harry went to the loo and Shadow put the bags on his bed and turned to the other man.
“I’m Harry from the future and another reality. I’m here to help get him away from Dumbledore and Hogwarts,” he said, flatly. “You can either help or hinder. One way or the other I’m going to keep him away from the war coming,” he stated in a firm voice.
“You do smell like him,” Sirius said, finally letting what was bothering him click. The man’s scent was the same as his pup’s. “What does Dumbledore have to do with it?”
So Shadow, and Harry when he came back, told him his theory about how Dumbledore was the catalyst of the war, and all the danger Harry was in Hogwarts. How he was the puppet master behind everything that happened in Harry’s first two years. Well, not second year, but he didn’t stop what was happening. He allowed it to happen and stretched it out to see what Harry would do. Shadow then went to talk about his years at Hogwarts and Dumbledore’s role in his life.
“This is a lot to take in,” Sirius said, when they were done, running a hand down his face. He rubbed it a few times and then sighed. He looked back on his school years and knew that Albus was a lot more lenient with James and him than he was with others. Then when they graduated, he used them for their money and time. They fell into his Order of the Pheonix like it was a given that they should.
“I know,” Shadow said, then he pulled the letter that he had typed two days ago towards him and handed it to Sirius. “This is a letter to MACUSA, read it and sign it if you agree.”
It was a straightforward letter asking for asylum. There was a line in there requesting asylum for Harry as well, though it was more for citizenship as his dependent. Sirius didn’t see anything wrong with the letter, but he didn’t sign it yet.
“What do you think, Harry? Do you want to go to America?” he asked the teen. It was a big decision. He was more wanting to go to Australia, but if Harry wanted to go to the US of A, then that’s where they’d go.
“Better there than here,” the boy said with a shrug. “I think they will protect us there,” he added. He had done some research these last few days and liked what he’d read. There was more freedom for minors there, but stricter regulations on magicals in some ways, yet more relaxed in others. There was a bigger divide between the muggles and magicals. He wasn’t sure if he liked that, but he did see why it was necessary. The school was better too. It included muggle courses so that they fit in better and didn’t break the Statute of Secrecy.
“I don’t care where we go, as long as you’re happy,” Sirius said, knowing that he would be content no matter what. They could always leave if they didn’t like it. He might get his trial. He signed the letter and handed it back to Shadow.
“I’ll take this to the embassy now. You, stay here with Harry,” Shadow said, putting a hat on his head and heading out to do just that. There was an office in the American Embassy here in London. All he had to do was drop this letter off there. They should get an owl in a few days.
“I’m glad you came back,” Harry said, giving his godfather a huge hug. He had missed the man that he barely knew.
“Me too, Harry, me too,” Sirius said, hugging the teen back just as hard. It had broke his heart to leave the kid behind.
“Do you think we’re making the right decision?” the boy asked, his tone tinged with worry.
“I think we are, but there will be rough spots. It’s not going to be easy. It’ll be a whole new way of life,” the dogman said, sitting on the bed and pulling Harry down next to him. They sat there and discussed the pros and cons of moving to the US of A.
Shadow came back an hour later and joined in with what he knew, which wasn’t much.
“Now let’s talk about the horcrux in Harry’s head,” Shadow said, pointing to his faded scar.
“What’s a horcrux?” Harry asked, while Sirius stood and started pacing. His face was pale, and he had a fine sheen of sweat on his forehead.
“Are you sure?” the concerned man asked, as he rubbed his sweaty palms on his trousers. It was dark magic that was forbidden even in his family.
“Yes, but before you panic, we can get rid of it without killing him,” Shadow said, seeing that Sirius was about to have a full-blown panic attack. “The goblins can take it out of him and kill it,” he said, hurriedly.
“Truly?” the other man said, with a great deal of hope.
“Truly,” Shadow said not unkindly.
“What’s a horcrux?” Harry asked again but was ignored again as Shadow tried to keep Sirius calm.
“When can we get this done?” Sirius asked, slumping in one of the chairs.
“Now if we want. We’ll have to get you a disguise, but I think you can fit my clothes, and I have a wig you can use,” the older man said, knowing he still had one from when he and Harry had gone in the Alley.
“Great, let’s go,” Sirius said, standing and heading for the door.
“Sirius, let’s get you in disguise first. You’d get arrested if you go like you are,” Harry said, grabbing the man’s arm.
They got Sirius in disguise and went to Gringotts. The goblins were more than happy to take Sirius’s money to rid Harry of the horcrux. Sirius, while they were there, made a withdrawal and they went back to the hotel room. The three of them decided to celebrate with pizza and ice cream.

Three days later, the very worried group finally got the owl they had been waiting for. They had an appointment the next day at the embassy. With a Mr. Black of all people.
“Is he related to you?” Harry asked, looking to his godfather.
“Beats me. It’s a common enough name,” Sirius said, shrugging his shoulders.
“Well, I’ll come with you to make sure you don’t fuck up,” Shadow said, stretching and yawning. They had spent the day at the zoo, and he was beat.
“Right,” Sirius said, getting ready for bed by shucking his trousers and shirt. He would take his shower in the morning. Harry was already heading for the bathroom. Sirius would use a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt for pajamas. He was still so skinny from Azkaban that they hung off him.
“Don’t worry, you’ve got this, just don’t do anything stupid, like prank anyone,” Shadow said, also donning some tracksuit bottoms, but no shirt.
“Right,” Sirius said again. He was getting nervous. He didn’t think he’d get any sleep tonight.
“Here,” the other man said handing him a vial.
“What’s this?” the dogman asked, taking it.
“Dreamless Sleep,” was the answer.
“Hot damn,” Sirius said, downing the potion and laying down. He was out like a light.
Harry came out ten minutes later to see Sirius sleeping and snoring. “I didn’t think he’d sleep,” he said, putting his dirty clothes in his laundry bag.
“I gave him a potion. Do you want one?”
“No, thank you,” the teen said, knowing he would sleep just fine.
“Okay,” Shadow said, going to the bathroom for his shower.
Harry was out and sleeping next to Sirius, when the other man came back from his ablutions. He just shrugged and went to bed.
The next morning Sirius was up first and took his shower and ordered breakfast. He put his wig on and got dressed for the day. Then he woke Harry and Shadow and made sure they were up and ready for the meal. The appointment was at ten in the morning, and they had to catch the Knight Bus to get there on time.

The embassy was a massive building. The magical office was in the back, and you had to go through the whole building to get to it. First you must get through the receptionist in front by giving a Code Merlin. She would give you a badge that had a phoenix on it and you could pass through the building unmolested.
The door to Mr. Black’s office was just like everyone else’s. It was wooden and glass with his name on it.
They knocked.
“Come in,” was heard. So they entered. There was a man that vaguely looked like Sirius, with black hair and grey eyes. That was where the resemblance stopped. This bloke was tall and buff. “Welcome,” he said, waving them to come and sit. He stood and held out his hand to Sirius and Shadow.
The two men shook and sat. Harry nodded to the man. Introductions were made and they all sat and got comfortable.
“Now I got your letter and I hear you want asylum,” Mr. Black said, taking out some paperwork and going over some lines.
“Yes, sir,” Sirius said, nodding along. “You see, I’m innocent. I was framed. Peter Pettigrew was the one who sold out Harry’s parents. He was the one who killed the muggles. He’s a rat Animagus. We caught him last year, but he got away. Now, I’m on the run again. I never got a trial, so I escaped Azkaban when I saw Pettigrew in the newspaper and knew he was near Harry here,” he got out in one breath.
“I see,” said Mr. Black, blinking at the other Black. “Do you have the memories to back your claims?” he asked, taking out some vials.
“Yes, so does Harry,” Sirius said, more than willing to part with them.
“Let’s get started then,” the other man said, taking out his wand. The questioning started and lasted for over two hours. The memories were stored and looked over. Sirius was granted tentative asylum to America. They would be moving there within the week. For now, they could move into the embassy. It was considered American soil on British grounds.
“Well,” Shadow said, looking at the two he had come here to help, “it looks like you two are off to a good start. I’m off to help the next Harry Potter.”
“Why are you doing this?” Harry asked, knowing the answer. It was his ‘saving people thing’.
“I told you my story, right?” Shadow said, frowning a bit. He was sure he had.
“No, you never really did,” Sirius said, settling down on the couch in the rooms they had been allotted. They were nice and comfortable. Two bedrooms and a sitting room. There was a kitchenette as well. “You told us your years at Hogwarts, but stopped there,” he added.
“I was controlled by Dumbledore, I know I told you that, I know I did. Well, because I was so controlled, I turned into a Dark Lord and took over the British magical world. I didn’t like that I had to do that, and I vowed that I would help other Harry Potters to not have that life,” Shadow explained.
“How did you know there were other Harry Potters? I mean, other realities?” Harry asked. He never even thought of different realities. He thought his world was the only one.
“I died, when I died, I was taken to Kings Cross and talked to Dumbledore. I had an epiphany. I just knew that if I didn’t take the train back then it would affect other realities. So, I took the train,” Shadow stated. It had been a weird sensation.
“So it was a gut feeling?” Sirius asked, tilting his head. That was weird.
“I guess, but I was correct, so here we are,” Shadow stated, looking around the room and smirking.
“So now that you’re done here, you’re just going to keep going on until you get tired of hopping from realities? Won’t you get bored?” Harry asked, knowing that doing the same thing over and over again would get tedious.
“I try to come during different times in your life,” the older man said. “Mostly before Sirius dies,” he added, nodding towards Sirius. “He is the catalyst that is needed to get you away. He is needed and wanted in your life. I would try to save your parents, but they are a fixed point in time. I will keep trying though,” he vowed.
“I’d like to think that you will succeed,” Harry said, hoping that at least one of the Harry Potters in all the realities could have his parents.
“Well, you two have fun in the states,” Shadow said, standing and going to the doors.
“How do you jump realities, anyway?” Harry asked, wondering about the procedure. He might want to do what Shadow is doing now. After he lived a bit first. If his life turned out well, that is. He wanted to finish his education first.
“I use the swing set in Little Whinging. That’s why I met you there,” Shadow said as he exited the room.
“He’s not the friendliest character,” Sirius said, watching the man go.
“He brought us together,” Harry snarked back. “Besides, he went through a lot of shite,” he paraphrased.
“Language,” the dogman said with a laugh. “Hopefully, now that we’re leaving you won’t go through any of what he did.”
“Hopefully,” Harry agreed.

When Harry’s name came out of the Goblet of Fire, they just ignored it. Barty Crouch Jr. lost his magic on the first task when Harry didn’t show.
When the British magical ministry tried to sue the MACUSA for stealing the Boy-Who-Lived, they were laughed out of the courts.
Voldy took over the Brits, and he ruled for ten years. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but it wasn’t a parade of roses either. The muggle queen was the reason his reign came to an end, when he tried to take the palace.
The horcruxes were taken care of after he was ‘killed’ by the muggles. Sirius told the goblins of Britain that he must have made more, and they took care of them and charged the ministry for the fee.
Harry wrote to those he had left behind and explained to them why he had left. Hermione agreed with him about the dangers and shared her experiences with her parents.
