Summary
Regulus is overseas in Europe fighting World War 2, and James is in America training new soldiers. They keep in touch through letters, sent from the heart of enemy lines, through tragedy, heartbreak and eventually a happy ending for them all.

Dearest James,
Your letter reached as we came along the coast. Lily has asked me to tell you to tell Mary that she loves her and has no regrets. Evan spends his days throwing himself into his work, but we suspect he is still mourning the loss of Barty. France is beautiful and perhaps, in a better world, we can visit again together. The waves lap against the beach and I can picture you here with me. Send Marlene, Mary, Sirius, and Dorcas my love, and please tell Dorcas not to join the war, it's not worth the pain, and she has too much to lose. I love you.
