Chapter 3
It had been over a week since James Potter had first messaged Regulus, so naturally the feeling in Regulus’ stomach had been there for the duration of it.
He had almost felt more full since James had started texting him, but no, that couldn’t be right. Why would someone he’s never met have an effect on him?
It was an all around mystery, though, that didn’t stop Regulus from still messaging James.
Well it was more of James messaging him but you wouldn’t find a time where Regulus had ignored him in the past week.
It sort of made him happy, having someone to talk to, well he had Barty but that felt different-actually texting James was what felt different.
He had never felt like this with anyone and anything in his life, so why was it James Potter out of everyone that was making it happen.
That morning Regulus had been making himself some breakfast in his one bedroom flat, it was quite dingy and the wallpaper was peeling off from the corners but he was never there much anyway so he didn’t think it particularly mattered, when his phone buzzed.
Regulus practically ran to his phone that was on charge on the other side of the room, he eagerly turned his phone on expecting a message from James, instead he was met with Bartys name lingering on his lock screen.
His mood slightly dampened, he clicked on the message to read it.
Barty: REG REG REG REG REG
Reg: Yes? Whats wrong!?
Barty: do you wanna come to this party thats happening on saturday? there wont be many people i swear
Reg: Why would i want to go to a party?
Barty: well ngl reg you are a bit lonely
Reg: Thank you Barty.
Barty: YOURE WELCOME!!! anyways the host, pandora, has a really fit brother and i wanna go to see if anything happens
Reg: Manwhore.
Barty: wow i see how it is
Reg: I was simply stating the obvious.
Barty: okay fair enough anyway i was just thinking pandora said i could bring a plus 1 so like obviously i thought of you and then i thought you could do some socialising yk? and maybe even find your self a few friends or maybe something more…
Reg: Don’t you even start on that.
Barty: COME ON REGGG you have to find someone eventually
Reg: Yes well, what if im busy on saturday?
Barty: reg…
Reg: Fine. I’ll come but only on the condition that you don’t pull a stunt like the last party i agreed to go to.
Barty: FINE. but i have to say i think you and kingsley would have made a great match
Reg: No.
Barty: ugh you’re so boring
Reg: I take pride in it.
Barty: yea yea anyway ill pick you up at 3 on saturday okay?
Reg: What’s the dress code?
Barty: you have to be having me on?
Reg: Why would i?
Barty: nvm just wear like party clothes okay??
Reg: Okay.
Regulus had to say, He was slightly nervous. In his life he hadn’t had the best experiences of partys, but he supposed most of that was because of Barty, He was always causing problems.
Well, if Regulus was being honest, he found it quite funny how chaotic Barty was, it was one of the many reasons why Regulus loved him so much.
Well not in a romantic way, him and Barty had engaged in their fair share of romantic moments with each other during their school years, which had helped them figure out that for one, they were both NOT straight and the other, that they were definitely just friends.
If anything it just made their friendship stronger than it already was.
After Regulus had finished day dreaming about his younger years he decided to message James and tell him about this party.
reggie<3: Good morning, James.
James Potter: MORNING REGGIEE
reggie<3: I’ve been invited to a stupid party.
James Potter: thats so good!!
reggie<3: Not for me it’s not.
James Potter: awh why not reggie
reggie<3: Because, my best friend Barty invited me as his plus one, and wherever Barty is, chaos is. I mean the last time we went to a party together he tried to set me up with someone! It was ridiculous.
James Potter: he sounds fun can i meet him
reggie<3: We havent even met?
James Potter: and?
reggie<3: So im not just going to introduce you to my friend if i don’t even know you.
James Potter: well that reggie, is where youre wrong! you do know me!
reggie<3: Well i’ve never met you.
James Potter: we will have to change that then wont we
reggie<3: ..
James Potter: THAT WASNT A NO
reggie<3: Well it wasn’t a yes either.
James Potter: STILL BETTER THEN A NO
reggie<3: Do you have to be so optimistic all the time?
James Potter: thats part of me so YES.
reggie<3: Great.
