CHAPTER 4 1/2
The rest of the week went by fairly normal. Potter and Lupin had steered clear; Even Black appeared to be quieter. To any other person, this would be a blessing, but Snape knew better. He knew that something was going to happen. What that was, he didn’t know yet.
He was wandering the castle when it happened, a door appeared on the walls. At first he believed he was seeing something, but as he got closer he realised it was the Room of Requirement! He opened the door, curious to why it had revealed itself to him.
“I’m just saying, we all say it! You can’t deny what you see James” Snape could hear Black’s voice before he even fully opened the door. However, curious to hear what they were saying, he stayed completely still.
“Yeah but it’s Snape, Sirius! You have to have some standards”
“Yeah well I’m looking at my standards right now so clearly they’re worse than I thought..”
“Hey! You can’t- who’s there?” Shit. Potter had noticed that the door was open. Snape could hear footsteps approaching quietly. His fight or flight kicked in and he attempted to turn back, only to be stopped by Lupin. He had managed to sneak up behind him, clearly meeting with the other two. Now he was trapped, Potter and Black were close now.
Remus POV
He had Snape by the arm, wondering why he was holding the door to the room. However, after seeing the panicked look in his face, he realised that James and Sirius must have been planning something. Just before they opened the door, Remus threw the invisibility cloak he had borrowed off James over Snape, hiding him from view. He made a note to get it back later.
“Oh, it’s just Remus,” James sighed, his shoulders relaxing. “You need to be careful Sirius who knows who could have been listening!”
Remus knew that Snape was still there, most likely too scared to make any noise. “What were you even talking about?”
“Snape’s arse”
“Sirius!” James shoved him, embarrassed.
“Oh…” Remus looked to where Snape was, trying his best not to panic.
