Chapter 1
That morning Severus Snape knew something bad was going to happen. He woke up almost a whole twenty minutes later than he was supposed to, leaving him behind schedule and in an even worse mood than usual. By the time he had managed to get to the great hall he heard the loud, obnoxious voice of James Potter. Severus often wished he could drown the wanker in the lake, but that was far too much effort. And boring.
As he passed his peers sat on the Slytherin table, he noticed all of their faces were rather sour. He sighed knowing that he was going to have a very long day. He needed to find Lily, she would know what to do.

“Go away Severus, I’m busy!”
“Lily please! Just talk to me, I don't know what I’ve done!” Severus was desperate at that point. She had been ignoring him all week. What had he done? Why was she so mad? He continued to follow her, pleading with her to just talk to him but she wasn’t having it.
“Oi! Snivelly! Get away from her you greasy git!” James Potter’s voice echoed even outside.
“Stay out of it Potter! This doesn’t concern you.” Severus yelled back, his anger from the morning returning.
“Well it does concern me. Lily is my friend and you are clearly harassing her.”
“Whatever Potter, can’t you just piss off?” Snape could see Remus Lupin and Sirius Black approaching behind them. He noticed Lily had snuck past them and had her arm around Remus’. He felt rage pool inside of him.
Whilst Severus was distracted looking at Lily Evans, he realised a second too late that Potter had pulled his wand out and now had it pointed towards him. Quickly, he reached for his own only for it to be taken away from him by Black. Panic washed over him as he noticed the crowd forming around them on the courtyard.
Due to his tiredness and late reflexes he managed to be turned upside down by Potter, missing the quiet levicorpus he cast.
“Who wants to see me pull down Snivelly’s trousers?” Potter laughed, Black and Lupin both cackling behind him. The panic that Severus was feeling increased a thousand times more.
