The club is clouded in smoke. As it was every night. On the stage stood the reason I was out of my office. I tried to stay away. He performed here every night. Even if I did stay in my office it didn’t keep me from falling for that voice.
He taunted me. The only reason he performed here was to pay back the debt that his father owed me. Not that he feared me. Yes, there was a tremble in his voice when he spoke, but those blue eyes told a different story. How his pupils would dilate and his breath catch when our hands brushed.
I took a sip of my whiskey, it would do nothing to cool the fire inside me. Those sinful red lips brushed against the microphone yet they were still flawless. Made me think of where else those lips could be and not leave a trace.
When the last note of the song played. Blaise, one of my most loyal walks onto the stage. His teeth are blinding white when he smiles. The rings on his fingers catch the lights.
“Let’s hear it one last time for Harry. Isn’t he beautiful, ladies and gentlemen?” Applause, whistles, and catcalls fill the club. A growl rumbles in my chest. Men and women looking at my Harry. Lady Jealousy reared her ugly green head. I shoot back the last of my whisky before I slam it down on the bar top.
My feet are on autopilot. I don’t fight it. His dressing room is just a few steps away. My scarred knuckles crack as I squeeze them. Was tonight going to be the night that I gave in? Would he have me? I may be a monster but I will not force myself on him.
The smell of his cologne lingers in the hallway. You might think I am imagining his smell. How could I smell it through the liquor and smoke? His scent was burned in my brain.
Two more steps away. “Draco!” I groan. Not even nails on a chalkboard would make me feel the way I do when I hear that bitches voice.
“Astoria,” I growl out. A tall, lean woman who reminds me of Olive Oil stands in front of me. “I thought you were still out of the country.” Who was he going to have to kill? Olive wanted to get those red claws she called fingernails in me. Not that she loves me. No, she loves what is in my bank account.
“I missed you so I came home.” Boney arms wrap around my neck. I feel my face scrunch in disgust.
“You are not supposed to be here. Your family is in trouble.” That is a lie but one that benefited him.
“I know you will protect me Draco.” A gasp at the end of the hall is all it took for me to push Olive off me.
My beautiful Harry. Green eyes blazing mad, and tears? Fuck no.
I only make it two steps before I feel claws digging in my arm. Harry looks at me again before he storms away.
Yanking my hand away I ran after him. I will not let him leave like this.
“Harry!” Shouting after him which he ignored.
Raven's black hair flows behind him. When he was on stage, it was pulled back. How I longed to touch each strand. Focus, Draco!
He disappears out the door and I follow.
Rain soaks my suit. Of course, it is raining. Damn it.
My eyes scan for him. He couldn’t be far.
Two buildings away there he stands. I jog in front of him. My leather shoes were ruined by the rain. No matter, I will buy a new pair.
“Harry,” his head snaps up. Those green eyes are red from tears. His flawless red lips pout beautifully. “Come with me. We need to get out of this rain!” I grab onto his arm but he jerks away.
“I am not going anywhere with you. I have done what I am contracted to do. I sang at your club. You don’t own me, Mr. Malfoy.” How I long to hear him call me something else I shake my head.
“That is where you are wrong, little raven. You do belong to me. I think you know that. I own your voice. It belongs to me 6 nights a week. If only I could have you for the rest of my life.” I cup his right cheek with my palm. I wouldn’t touch him if I didn’t see the look of longing in his eyes. He was touch starved. His family treated him horribly. I’ve watched it since we were children. That is why they sold him out to me.
“I think you want your cake and eat it too Mr. Malfoy. You may have my voice. You will not have me. I believe your heart belongs to another. Your fiance Astoria and I had a great conversation earlier. She wants me to sing at the wedding. Congratulations are in order.” Harry’s soft hand pulls mine from his cheek. “I didn’t think it was real. I haven’t heard anything. Blaise’s wife tells me everything. She hasn’t been around either. I thought she was gone. That is when she told me to my surprise she was gone looking for venues for the wedding. Mr. Malfoy, go back to your fiance. Tell her I am obligated to sing at your wedding. I am not obligated to be your whore.”
Astoria dies tonight. How dare she lie about their relationship. Draco Malfoy wasn’t someone you fucked with.
Harry steps away before I can stop myself. I lift him into my arms. A horn honking covers his shock scream.
Harry’s fists hit my back as I carried him into the alleyway next to the back door of my club.
I put him down next to the door. My body is in front of him. His back is pressed against the brick. His chest rises and falls quickly.
“What the hell is your problem? You can’t go all mafia caveman and take me. I’m not property Draco!”
I can’t hold back any longer. My left hand grasps his hands and places them above his head. My right wraps gently around his neck. My thumb drags on his plump bottom lip.
“I love the sound of my name coming out of your mouth songbird. Though not in that way. If you tell me right now if there is no contract there wouldn’t be a chance in hell that you would be mine I’ll let you go. Debt paid in full. I’d even give you a monthly allowance and a place to stay.” I watch as his eyes dilate, his breathing still erratic. Maybe my plan will backfire on me. Maybe he doesn’t need me as I need him.
“Or my beautiful Harry. My little songbird, you can tell me you belong to me. You will be mine. The contract is paid in full, but I own your voice, body, mind, and soul. You will never go without. I will care for you until my dying day.” Raindrops trail down his face.
“What do you say Songbird?” I hold my breath. I get what I want. If I don’t get him I will burn everything down.
“I...I belong to you.” A growl erupts from my chest as I smash my lips to his. A beautiful whine leaves his lips. I would love to devour him here in the alleyway but he deserves better. I reluctantly pull away.
“You are now forever mine Songbird.” I let go of his hands and cupped his cheeks with my hands.
“What about your fiance?” Fire flashes in his eyes. My songbird is so feisty. I lean and press a soft kiss on his lips.
“She was never my fiance. Astoria dies tonight don’t worry. You are and will always be the only one for me.”
“Good, now take me home.” Oh, I will take him home alright. To OUR home.
