Adjusting

Pansy walked to breakfast with an annoyed expression on her face, of which, did not go unnoticed.

"Pansy, is something wrong?" Blaise asked her.

Pansy innerly jumped at Blaise actually being concerned over her instead of Dazai, other that one time last year when Dazai broke her arm. Damn Lockhart.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just.. tired." Which was partly true. She didn't get back to the dorms until 2 am, which meant that she had spent 2 hours talking to Dazai. Yikes.

Because Dazai technically doesn't exist in this world, he decided to give Pansy a list of things to do and investigate, since Pansy is the only one that actually remembers Dazai, which is annoying in itself.

Getting Blaise's 'undivided' attention felt weird, even though that used to be something she really wanted. She liked his attention, sure, but it felt unnatural to her, as there was no 'Loyalty Club', hell, not even the Hell Hounds. It was just her, Blaise and Draco. Like she had always wanted.

"Did you hear? Harry Potter fainted yesterday!" Draco said cheerfully, he has been walking ahead of them the entire time, and hadn't heard their conversation.

"Because of the dementors, right?" Panay asked, glad the subject was changed. Last thing she needed was Blaise to start poking his nose into these things and find out what she had been up to.

"He's never going to live that down." Blaise commented.

"Not unless he does something worse." Pansy absentmindedly said.

She remembered how she felt when the dementors were near her. Pansy wouldn't be surprised if she passed out as well. She had blacked out after the dementors, and apparently the Weasley twins ended up helping her.

In her world, at least. In this one, Pansy didn't feel bad enough to the point of passing out. It was probably worse for her, due to the trauma in her path that only became part of her world because of the mere existence of Dazai.

Pansy couldn't help but think of how it might've been for Dazai, with his sensitivity to magic, and Blaise, who only truly started to care for anything, including actually feeling happiness, because of Dazai.

Pansy didn't realize she was looking at Blaise as she thought.

"Is something the matter? You have been staring at me for a while now." Blaise asked with an expression that this world's Pansy would mistake as concern. But Pansy knew him better than that. Blaise was simply curious. But that didn't stop her from being embarrassed for staring at him.

"A-ah! Sorry. I was lost in thought."

"Lost in thought?" Blaise echoed. "About what?"

"Er- well, I heard that you can take Divination as a third year. And Hogsmeade."

When Pansy didn't elaborate anymore, Blaise finally responded.

"I see." He was no longer looking at her.

'Content.' Echoed Pansy's voice in her head. Shut up. He is not content with my- our answer. He wants more. He is so much more observant than we gave him credit for.

Pansy was just glad the discussion was over.

Remember Pansy, she told herself, he simply hangs out with the most interesting people. Don't be interesting to him. The more he involves himself in what I am doing, the more chances we have to get caught.

"We're here." Blaise said, snapping Pansy out of her thoughts.

'We are so gonna make fun of Harry Potter for fainting.'

We are not.

'You say that because you fainted.'

Shut up.

Harry Potter walked into the Great Hall for breakfast accompanied by Ron and Hermione.

Draco had been repeating the same tale over and over again. Some people were laughing, while others, including Blaise, were getting bored.

So, Pansy decided to do the most logical thing.

Pretend Potter was Dazai, that Dazai did something so incredibly stupid and funny, that he would never be able to live it down, and let this world's Pansy take over.

"Hey Potter! Potter! The dementors are coming, Potter! Woooooooo!" Pansy felt fulfilled after doing that, but also a bit annoyed.

She felt as though someone insulted her, specifically, comparing her to a dog in some way. She assumed it was Dazai, she wasn't exactly sure, but she could feel the annoyance that only came from being compared to something.

Plus, just being compared to the likes of a dog made her skin crawl for a reason she had yet to know.

Draco continued making fun of Harry Potter, but Pansy had had her fun.

She took a seat and started to eat her breakfast.
