Part Twelve
The last few months have been so much fun. You and Cedric went on so many dates. He gave you more of his house markings and accessories. On one of your picnic dates he gave you a little stuffed bear with a little Hufflepuff scarf and robes. On another he found enchanted rings that lit up when the other rings owner was thinking about you. Yours lit up golden yellow and his lit up and emerald green. Some had asked about the new jewelry, or why it lit up, but you both made up random excuses like 'oh it lights up when I lose concentration' and 'it's a reminder for homework'. People seemed to believe it. After sending letters to Remus about your dates and how romantic Cedric was, he told you to enjoy moments like this. He wished he had more fun moments with Sirius before he was framed for the murder of Peter. You had kind of guessed that they were more than friends, but never wanted to ask.
~~~
You still haven't talked to Draco since the beginning of the year. He is very stubborn, but Blaize still thinks he'll eventually come around.
"He's probably just jealous or something. You have been spending a lot of time with Diggory. It's like your best friends now. You barely hang out with me anymore either. And I'm sure he wants to know why. I know I do." Blaize slouched on the Slytherin commons couch. You sighed.
"Come with me Blaize." You stood and walked to your dorm, Blaize following behind. As you entered your common room you motioned him to sit in an armchair.
"If I tell you this you can't tell anyone. At all. Ok?" He furrowed his brow but nodded.
"You know I don't tell other people's secrets." You sighed and sat down on the couch next to him.
"OK. Do you remember when I told you I'd been kicked out by my mother?" He nodded.
"Well, I didn't tell you why. I haven't told many people but...I like men. She hated same sex relationships, 'mudbloods', house mingling, everything. She seemed to be an avid follower of The Dark Lord, but I'm not sure. Remus knew. Dumbledore knows. He found out when I told him I didn't have a home. Luna found out herself. She isn't a Ravenclaw for nothing." You chuckled to yourself.
"And Cedric? How does he fit in all this?" A light blush dusted your cheeks.
"He...he's uhm...he's my boyfriend." Blaize gasped and stood up.
"When did you start dating?!" You stuttered a bit in shock.
"W...well we started dating last year." He scoffed.
"And I'm finding out NOW! AND HERE I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!" He let out an exasperated sigh.
"You could have told me. I don't care if you're dating a man, much less Diggory. I would have helped you out, you should know that." He sat back down slowly.
"I was scared. I didn't want to lose you as a friend. And if I did lose you you might have told everyone else. And I don't have anywhere else to go if I lose this place." You worried your lip and looked down. You only looked up when you felt his arms around you.
"I would never do that. You're my friend and always will be. Now, tell me about this lover boy. I have to make sure he's good for you." He smirked and you both sat on the couch.
~~~
Hours had passed with the two of you talking. You both had laughed at some stories about your dates and you even showed him things Cedric had gotten you.
"This is a sweater of his he gave me, and this bear, this scarf here, and this blanket." Blaize smiled lightly.
"He is a romantic. All this stuff has either Hufflepuff colors or the emblem. So what's with the rings? I assume that's from him too?" You smiled to yourself.
"Yeah. Mine glows golden yellow when he thinks about me and his glows emerald green when I think about him." You both looked down at the ring, seeing it was glowing bright gold, you blushed a bright red.
"Like that..." Blaize burst into laughter.
"OK, I like him. He showers you with all the love you deserve. I'm happy for you. Now I understand why you were so anxious about the TriWizard trials. There's one left isn't there?" You nodded lightly.
"Yeah. We don't know what it is though. But his dad is coming for the last one, so I'll be sitting with him." You leaned back.
"Who do you think will win?" You scoffed.
"Like I care. I just don't want anyone to get hurt more than they already have." He chuckled.
"How are you a Slytherin? You seem more like a Hufflepuff with that attitude." You gently smacked his arm.
"Well you might not know, but I'm pretty ambitious, cunning, resourceful, and you've said yourself that I'm a good leader. So, you tell me." You both laughed a bit before you shiver.
"You cold?"
"Yeah. It gets a little drafty here sometimes. Even after I blocked off the dorms." You stood and walked over to the chair picking up the grey sweater with yellow and black stripes, and pulling it on. You sighed.
"Much better." You looked over at the window.and saw how dark it was.
"Oh, you should probably go or you'll get in trouble. If you take this secret passage it'll take you really close to the Slytherim commons." You pointed over to a small painting to the right of the entrance to your dorm.
"OK. Well talk more now right? I've missed you."
"I've missed you too Blaize."
