Regulus wins
“Oi, Black!”
Regulus rolled his eyes and turned his broom to face James, who was hovering on his broom behind him.
“What do you want now, Potter? Game’s about to start.”
“Let's make a deal,” James flew closer, making sure none of the other players could hear him. “If Gryffindor wins, you have to kiss me.”
Regulus raised an eyebrow. “And if I win?”
James smirked. “I’ll let you decide.”
“Black, get over here! The game’s going to start!” Vanity yelled, calling for her seeker.
“One moment!” Regulus yelled back, eyes still on James. He took a second before he gave an answer. “Deal.” He flew to his team.
James was chasing after the snitch as fast as he could. He knew regulus couldn’t be far behind him. The snitch made a quick turn to the left. James almost lost his balance as he quickly followed it. The snitch was only a few inches away from him, James could almost touch it with his fingertips, when suddenly a hand snatched it away. James stopped, perplexed.
Regulus casually grabbed the snitch from right under James’ nose while hanging upside down on his broom. He winked at James before positioning himself back on his broom holding the snitch up. The public roared as the commentator announced Slytherin’s victory.
James had trouble hiding his disappointment.
After getting changed, Regulus found James leaning against the door frame of the Slytherin changing room, arms crossed, looking at Regulus in clear disappointment.
“Alright, you win. What do you choose? Hang me from the astronomy tower for all I care.” He sighed. Regulus rolled his eyes, approaching the upset Gryffindor. He smirked.
“How about I take you on a date this Saturday? What do you think? We could head to the three broomsticks or something.”
James’ mouth fell slightly open, making Regulus laugh. “You… but you…” He stammered. Regulus rolled his eyes again.
“You really thought I was going to blow a game for a kiss? I mean, sure I like you, but I still have priorities, you know? I'm not desperate. Besides, I was going to ask you out anyway if, I won.” Regulus admitted smiling softly. James blushed sheepishly.
“What do you think? Three Broomsticks tomorrow around 2pm?” Regulus asked, cocking his head to the side.
“Alright then,” James smiled. “Should be around enough time to explain Sirius I'm going on a date with you.”
Regulus smiled back. “Maybe leave out the fact that it's me you're going on a date with. Might make it less dangerous.” He joked.
“You think he's gonna kill me?” James replied, amused.
“Not but he might kill me.” Regulus answered. They both laughed.
“Alright, but he's gonna ask who I'm going out with. He's curious.” James said.
“I know he is. Just ignore his questions, he'll stop after a while.” Regulus replied, waving his hand.
“Okay,” James nodded.
“Pick you up at your common room at 2?”
“Maybe not,” James chuckled.
“Right,” Regulus replied sheepishly. He ran a hand through his hair. “Let's meet up at the Three Broomsticks then.”
“Sounds good.” James said. “I should go now, before Sirius realises I'm gone.”
“Good idea,” Regulus chuckled. “See you tomorrow then?”
“Yep,” James waved and before he could turn around, Regulus pulled him down by his collar and pressed a kiss to his lips.
“See you later, James.” He whispered, before letting the Gryffindor go on his way.
