When people say that something is forever, either way, it ends.

Antonin locks eyes with me, and time seems to slow, stretching every one of my heart’s beats into an eternity, while racing toward an inevitable end. Suddenly, searing pain erupts, as if every nerve in my body ignites with white-hot flames.

In the distance, the echoes of battle rage on. My senses reel, overwhelmed by a kaleidoscope of sensations. Colors blur and twist behind my eyes, sounds distort into a cacophony of discordant notes. It's as if reality itself is slipping away like sand through my fingers as I try to reach for Dora. I see a soft smile, radiant and full of life, forever etched in my memory.

A laughter echoes in the recesses of my mind. But now, as I reach out, my fingers grasping at wisps of smoke, I slip further away, swallowed by the abyss.

I'm adrift in a sea of pain, swallowed whole by the relentless tide.

The agony slowly subsides, leaving behind a hollow emptiness.

I'm left gasping for air, grasping at the fading remnants of life slipping away.

A glimmer of familiarity pierced through the shadows. It was a light unlike any other, an ethereal glow that illuminated the surrounding abyss, casting everything in a radiant hue.

And there, amidst it all, stood Sirius.

“That everything will end/ Should not change our plans/When we begin again”

It was as if a dam had burst within me, releasing a torrent of disbelief, longing, and love that had been pent up for far too long. As I drew closer to him, every sense came alive with the overwhelming presence of him. It was as if we had never been apart, as if time itself had folded in on itself to reunite us once more.

And when our fingertips met, a surge of electricity coursed through my veins, igniting a fire that had long smoldered within me. Time seemed to stand still as I gazed into Sirius's eyes, the depth of his soul laid bare before me. Every doubt and insecurity that had plagued me dissolved into nothingness, replaced by a sense of utter belonging that I had long thought lost.

With trembling hands, Sirius gently caressed my face, his touch sending shivers down my spine as if every nerve in my body awakened by his presence. And as our lips met, I felt the weight of years fall away, replaced by an overwhelming rush of joy.

"Moony," Sirius breathed, his voice filled with longing.

“Padfoot” I murmured, the words barely a whisper as I drank in the sight of him before me.

It would take 683 days before we began again.
