Newly Found Comfort

Harry felt like a cup that had shattered a piece forever missing. Never to be found again. He lost that piece the day his parents died. He thought the Weasleys had found it, but the piece was too large. He thought his friends combined would fit, but all of their pieces were too small. Harry felt like he would never be whole again. Never finding that missing piece.

Harry kept sobbing into his hands. Snape's hand slowly moved from Harry's shoulder to his back, rubbing small circles on his back. Letting Harry cry again. It had barely been 2 hours since Harry cried last.

Draco didn't say anything, he slowly walked over and sat next to Snape. Draco was curious, yet concerned. He would have never thought he would be concerned about the golden boy, Harry Potter. Draco didn't know if he could do anything to help Harry. Draco looked at the small trickle of blood falling down Harry's face. Draco brought his thumb to Harry's scar, lightly rubbing the blood away.

"What are you doing?” Snape asked. Harry's sobs lightened the smallest bit at the touch on his scar.

"He was bleeding." Draco responds. His thumb leaving Harry's head. "I'll go get a bandaid." Draco stood up, walking to Snape's closet. Grabbing a small box of bandaids. They were oddly unicorn bandaids. They looked a bit older. Maybe two or three years old. Draco chuckle lightly. His dark and mysterious god father having unicorn bandaids. Draco made his way back with the childish bandaid. "So, unicorns?" Draco smirked, holding back a laugh.

Snape glared at Draco. Of course Draco found his unicorn bandaids. Snape rolled his eyes and looked back at Harry. Harry was now looking up at Draco who was unwrapping the bandaid. It was pink and had several small unicorns on it. The bandaid confused Harry deeply. His sobs stopped, due to his confusion. The tears still rolled down his face. Draco sat on the bed, placing the bandaid on the very bottom of Harry's scar. Draco laughed at the sight.

"Shut up." Harry weakly said. Sniffling back another set of tears, rubbing the tears off his face. Draco was still laughing.

"But it's so funny." Draco smiled at Harry. Harry has never seen Draco smile before, it felt weird. Harry could help but smile.

"Alright both of you." Snape said. His hand and stopped it's circles on Harry's back. The both turned to him. Then back at each other.

Draco started first. " Why do you have unicorn bandaids?" Draco was still smiling, it was fun to mess with his god father.

"Yeah Professor, Why?" Harry chuckled. Now he had something against his Professor.

"It was the only box." Snape said. An obvious lie.

"Sure." The two young boys said in unison. Looking at each other before laughing again.

Snape rolled his eyes at the two. This felt weird. Snape had never felt like this before. He felt oddly... protective of the boys. Seeing the two so happy while they lived harsh lives. Snape couldn't help but lightly smile. Harry and Draco had stopped laughing their jaws dropping.

"You can smile?!" Harry exclaimed. He looked at Draco, thinking he was imagining things. Draco looked at Harry for the same reason.

"Of course I can smile." Snape says, hit tone betraying him. He sounded more like a parent now to the boys, rather a strict and stern teacher.

"By Merlin!" Draco yelled. "I have to tell Pansy. Unicorn bandaids and Professor Snape smiling! She'll never believe me!" Draco smirks.

"You are right she will never believe you." Snape said cockily, smirking at Draco. Not a single person would believe either boys. Both the boys thought about it and realized that they would never believe them.

"He's right." Draco sighs. He was so happy to tell everyone that his cold hearted god father was a large softie. Draco couldn't help but start to laugh again when he looked at Harry. "I'm... I'm sorry... It's too funny" Draco said between laughs.

"Oh we will see how funny it is when I cover you with them." Harry jokes. Making Harry laugh at the idea of Draco covered in unicorn bandaids.

This felt surreal to all of them. All of them never had a family like this. It felt like a family now. Like the broken pictures of their family perfectly fitted together.

"You are on, Malfoy." Harry started to move off the bed.

"Draco." Draco said. Snape looked at the two boy, finally they were getting along. He wondered why Draco told Harry to call him .

"What?" Harry asked. Pausing his movements.

"Call me Draco."

"Okay Draco. I'm Harry." Harry said, standing in front of Draco. Holding his hand out for Draco to shake. Snape watched as the boys conversed. Draco didn't shake Harry's hand, looking at Harry. "What? Going to deny my hand shake like I did?" Harry chuckles. Draco laughs as well, taking Harry's hand. Snape smiled lightly, the corners of his mouth turning upwards. Harry pulled Draco off the bed, dragging him out of the room. "Now I'm going to put bandaids on you!" Harry smiled and laughed.

"No!" Draco yelled. "Professor help meeeeee!" Draco yelled, grabbing onto the frame of the door.

Snape just shrugged. He was smiling a full smile now, a light laugh escaping his lips.

"Harry look!" Draco pointed at Snape. Harry turned around and smile at Snape. Draco jerked his hand out of Harry's grasp. Pushing past Harry and running away. "You'll never catch me alive!!" Draco yelled.

Harry shook his smile away, his eyes following Draco. "You get back here!" Harry started to run after Draco.

Snape still smiled. Maybe this would be his new family. Maybe he would be able to protect Harry and Draco. Be a father to the two. Both had hard lives like him. They could be a family the was broken, but built itself together. Like pieces of stained glass forming together to tell a beautiful story. One of loss and heartbreak. One of destruction and resurrection. One of being lost and being found.

"I've got you now!" Snape could here Harry yell out. Then a thunk onto his couch. Harry probably knocked Draco down onto the couch. Snape could hear Draco gunt from the impact.

These boys would be the death of him. As well as the fix to him. The boys would destroy and fix this heavily broken man. Snape stood up off the bed. Walking over to the frame of the door he could now see that Draco had flipped him and Harry over. Draco jumped away from Harry.

"You will never get those bloody bandaids on me!” Draco started to run again, running away from Harry and into the kitchen. Snape rested his head on the frame on the door. Maybe this could work.

Will Draco and Severus be Harry's fix?
