Aspen
“He’s doing a lot better than the last time I saw him, as long as he sticks to the regime I prescribed then his health will improve by leaps and bounds” Aspen remarked as he wrote a few things done on his clipboard and Dawn hummed in understanding while casting a glance in the direction that Gabriel had wandered off in to go take a nap.
“That’s good to hear” She mused as she glanced back at Aspen who nodded in agreement.
“I’ve got to thank you for finally convincing him to get treatment, I swear his stubborn ass was going to give me grey hairs and that shouldn’t physically be possible” He grumbled which made Dawn huff in amusement.
“Though speaking of stubborn asses, are you recovering alright from your magical exhaustion?” He asked and Dawn rolled her eyes fondly as she nodded.
“I’m doing great, I’ve been eating and sleeping so my magical levels have returned to normal” She explained and Aspen nodded in approval before wincing and rubbing at his knee.
“Are you alright?” Dawn asked worriedly and Aspen sighed as he nodded.
“Yeah I’m fine, a storm is rolling in and those always make my stumps hurt” He grumbled with a defeated sigh and Dawn winced in sympathy.
“I’ve got some scar cream in my bathroom cabinet if you want to use some, it might help” She offered and Aspen’s shoulders practically slumped in relief.
“Oh Gods yes, normally I carry that shit around with me twenty-four seven but I got distracted this morning and forgot it” He said in relief which made a slight smirk appear on Dawn’s face.
“Did that distraction name happen to start with an A by chance?” She asked teasing which made Aspen’s ears darken slightly.
“Shut up!” He snapped before turning on his heel and marching towards the bathroom leaving behind a giggling Dawn.
“Stupid Jerk” He grumbled to himself as he shifted through the stupidly cluttered cabinet only to immediately curse when he knocked a bottle of pills onto the ground.
“Wonderful” He grumbled as he went to pick it up only for his eyes to go wide when he noticed what kind of pills they were. Scent suppressors.
Now Dawn having scent suppressors wasn’t the surprising part, All Alpha, Omegas and even Betas to a lesser extent gave off a scent and Dawn just didn’t which made it very obvious she used scent blockers. The surprising part was that these were specifically prescribed for female Omegas which means that…
“I just remembered that I left the scar cream in my room, not the cabinet” Dawn remarked as she walked into the room with a small jar in her hand only to immediately stiffen up when she saw what Aspen was holding.
“Dawn, you're an Omega?” He questioned in disbelief and Dawn slumped a little in defeat as she placed the scar cream on the counter.
“I tell one person after keeping it a secret for years and now half the damn server knows” She grumbled in frustration and Aspen’s jaw dropped slightly.
“You're kidding” He mumbled in shock to which Dawn just sighed.
“Nope I am an Omega” She said as she reached up and pulled her mask off revealing the golden ring around her pupils which sealed the deal, Aspen continued to stare in shock for a moment before tilting his head thoughtfully.
“Actually you know what? That makes sense” He mused which earned him a confused look from Dawn.
“Arven always said that the only person that was a bigger mother hen than me was you so you being an Omega makes a lot of sense” He remarked and Dawn groaned in embarrassment while he smirked in amusement only for it to slip off of his face when he realized something.
“Dawn, I’m the only doctor on this server and I only just discovered you were an Omega. So when was the last time you had a check-up done?” He asked seriously which made Dawn’s eyes go wide in panic.
“Uh… I plead the fifth?” She offered which just earned her an unimpressed huff from Aspen as he grabbed her wrist.
“Nope, you're getting a check-up done and if you try to resist I’ll go get Gabriel to hold you down” He stated firmly as he dragged Dawn out of the bathroom while she grumbled something about mother hens under her breath.
“I’m pleased to report that you are in great health, however, that scar on your stomach you do realize…” Aspen began to say only to trail off when Dawn nodded somberly.
“I’m aware and I’ve come to terms with it” She said softly to which Aspen nodded in understanding with a sad look on his face.
“Would you like to stay for dinner?” Dawn suddenly asked to try and break the sombre mood and Aspen smiled a little bit as he nodded in acceptance.
“I’d love to” He remarked as he followed Dawn into the kitchen, the sombre mood was still lingering but was easier to ignore for now.
