Callum
Callum’s ears pressed flat against his head as he scurried down the hall and an anxious feeling bubbled in his gut, it had been two days since Julian had stormed off and no one had seen or heard from him since and while Callum didn’t want to jump to conclusions he couldn’t help but to fear the worst.
What if he had finally had enough and left? What if he had gone to join Theo and the others, leaving him to fend for himself? What if he had finally chosen the real pup over him, just like his mom had?
Julian had promised to protect him but so had many others and those promises had all been broken in the past. Because of being a shifter hybrid, he looked a lot older than he actually was so it was easy for people to forget he was still just a pup, a pup that desperately wanted someone to care about him.
“Hey, Callum!” Gabriel snapped from behind him and he stiffened up as he turned to face the ram hybrid who had a scowl on his face and a beer bottle in his hand.
“Where the fuck is Julian?” He questioned gruffly and Callum gulped as he took a slight step back.
“I don’t know sir, no one’s seen him” He said tensely which just earned him a huff of frustration from Gabriel as he took a swig from his beer.
“I don’t like liars Callum” He hissed and Callum blinked in confusion/fear as he took another slight step back.
“I’m not lying, I have no idea where he is” He said defensively which made Gabriel’s scowl grow deeper as he took a couple of menacing steps forward.
“Just tell me where the bitch is and I won’t have to get angry” He ordered angrily and Callum ducked his head as a slight scowl appeared on his own face that was hidden by his bangs.
“Don’t call him that” He muttered to himself and Gabriel’s ear twitched slightly.
“What was that?” He questioned gruffly but Callum remained silent which only angered him further so he reached forward and gripped the fox hybrid's hair forcing him to look him in the eyes, ignoring the pained whines that came from the pup's mouth at the action.
“Answers me!” He barked and Callum bared his teeth threateningly.
“Don’t call Julian a bitch you asshole!” He shouted only to howl in pain when Gabriel slammed his face harshly against the wall, right next to the portrait of his mother her cold eyes practically mocking him.
“You better learn your place you useless mutt” Gabriel hissed venomously as he shoved Callum to the ground, another pained yelp escaping the young Omega as pain shot up his wrist from the rough angle he had landed on it.
“Fuck off!” He snapped as he attempted to shuffle away only to howl when Gabriel stepped on his tail as the red ring around his pupils flashed angrily.
“You Omega’s just don’t know when to shut up do you?” He growled as he swung the beer bottle up and Callum covered his face with his arms as he braced himself for the blow only for nothing to happen.
Instead, he heard a furious growl, a strangled gurgling sound, a ping from his communicator that was probably a death notification and then silence. He slowly lowered his arms and blinked in confusion when he saw Dawn standing in front of him with her sword dripping with Gabriel’s blood who was nowhere to be seen.
“Pup” Dawn whined as she dropped her sword and fell to her knees so that she could pull Callum close and nuzzle him in an attempt to comfort the young Omega who instinctively nuzzled her back only for his ears to shoot up in shock as he picked up on Dawn’s soft lavender scent. He let out a confused whine and Dawn just purred softly as she continued to nuzzle him comfortingly.
“Pup safe” She mumbled as she held Callum closer who practically melted into the embrace as he went back to nuzzling the older Omega, the smell of lavender lulling him to sleep as the tension seeped out of his tired body. He didn't even notice when Dawn picked him up and quickly made her way out of the Whitehouse making a beeline for her cottage.
Julian let out a distressed whine as Dawn slipped into the room and Dawn let out a soft understanding coo as she entered her nest so that Julian could nuzzle the pup worriedly.
"Pup hurt" Julian whined his eyes flashing gold in his distress to which Dawn slipped off her mask so that she could properly nuzzle Julian reassuringly, her own eyes fully gold as her protective urges took over.
"Pup safe" She said comfortingly and the duck hybrid whined a little as the two of them cuddled the injured pup protectively, neither of them willing to let him out of their sight anytime soon.
