kissing, screaming, straight back to war
Vi remembered the feeling like it just happened yesterday.
She remembered the way her heart started pounding just at the mere sight of that tall blue haired girl crossing the study's door.
She remembered the way her little sister, who was beside her talking about her own script, started calling her as her eyes never left the stranger's movements.
She also remembered the way her shoulder ached from her sister's punch, tired of calling her.
But she definitely couldn't stop thinking about the way her whole body, mind and even heart (yes, that early) turned around when the director introduced her as her co protagonist.
"Vi, this is Caitlyn Kiramman, she will be your romantic interest on the show." her own hand trembled as she reached the now not anymore stranger's lifted hand, "I'll leave you two to know each other first."
That's the last thing Vi barely heard before listening to what was the kindest and softest voice she had ever heard before.
"Hi, I'm Caitlyn." as if it wasn't enough, she also had the most beautiful blue eyes she had ever seen, "Pleasure to meet you."
She also noticed how her left eye was milkier than the right one, a tiny scar crossing it, almost unnoticeable if it wasn't for the eye's difference.
She already fell in love with that little detail of hers.
"Hey..." she couldn't bring herself back from the daydreaming she fell into, just shaking her hand back and having to shake her own head too, "Hi, I'm Vi."
She wanted to talk more, tell her whatever it was going on around her mind, but she also didn't want to make anything awkward the fucking first day of shooting.
"I like your eyes." she blurted out, her voice still neutral as she worked not to sound nervous, but regretting the moment the words left her mouth.
What if she doesn't like people pointing it out?
What if she thinks I'm trying to make fun of her?
What if she gets angry and we start on the wrong..?
"M-Mine? Thank you..." Vi was brought to reality once again by her soft voice replying to her, she could see the way her cheeks flushed slightly, but as she was so pale it was noticeable, "I like your freckles."
"Really?" after she heard the 'Mhm' as a reply from Caitlyn, she continued, "I used to cover them up but... you know." she knew she was rambling, she felt her own cheeks heating too and she just hoped Caitlyn could miss it.
"You know?" Caitlyn asked, half joking and half confused, making them both laugh and dissipating whatever little awkwardness there might have been between the two.
Vi knew from that very first moment she was going to fall for her, but she didn't know how hard she was going to fall.
But even if she gave up on her feelings, let herself fall as much as her heart wanted, she never did a thing about it.
She never got the strength or guts to do something about it, to make a move with Caitlyn, too afraid of losing what they got into.
She always preferred to protect others than be protected anyway, and it applied to this situation too.
She was okay if Caitlyn was okay.
"Earth to Vi." she heard her sister's voice next to her, still a bit distant in comparison with her internal thoughts, "You sure you're reading the script or you're just fantasizing with a certain someone?"
Vi couldn't control the exasperated sigh that left her lips, her eyes never leaving the script on her hands even if she wasn't really paying attention to it.
They were both sitting next to each other, Vi still in her enforcer costume from the previous scenes, Jinx next to her already had a sweatshirt as she was done for the day.
It was pretty late already, all the team being up and working since early in the morning, but they only got one scene left for the day and they could all go home finally.
"What do you want, Powder?" she asked tired, tired of the day, but also tired of her own thoughts, they were too loud today and she couldn't control them for much longer.
Yeah, she could forget about them every single day and pretend she could be okay with only being friends with who she was sure was the love of her life.
But she could only suppress them a certain amount of time a day.
"Wow, you're really pent up today, aren't you?" Jinx laughed at her, not with malice but her typical joke, she was too used to seeing Vi with and without Caitlyn to realize the effect the blue haired had on her older sister. "Relax for a bit, there's only one left."
Vi knew Jinx was right, there was only one left and she could go home and relax, stop pretending in front of everyone, and most importantly, pretending to herself.
"Oh yeah, and tomorrow is your grand day." and of course, Jinx couldn't leave her right there, no, she had to remind her what was happening the following day.
Something she was desperately trying to avoid, trying to not think about, because if you didn't think about something, it wasn't real right? She was so desperate to hold on to that thought.
But she also was craving it as if it was the last meal on earth, as the only thing she could ever take from Caitlyn without feeling bad or selfish (even though she was already feeling selfish at the mere thought of enjoying it).
Tomorrow they had to record the first kiss scene.
And it's something that's been bothering her for almost two entire years, since they first read the script from Act 1.
Bothering in the sense her leg couldn't stay still everytime she took a seat to rest.
Bothering in the way she probably wasn't going to be able to have kissable lips because she couldn't stop biting them.
Bothering in the way even her sister couldn't stop bringing it up just to stop seeing Vi anxious to see her flustered instead.
So yeah, she wasn't looking for tomorrow to come, less calling it 'her grand day'.
"Can you just... Why don't you go home already? You're finished for today." Vi asked instead of trying to shut Jinx up, which was obviously impossible and a waste of energy.
"And not being able to see how your princess' going to hit you? Not in a million years." and the following laugh was an obvious reaction to Vi that she didn't even fight back anymore, just rolling her eyes and looking towards the door.
They just had to wait for Caitlyn to finish her make-up session and it would be over, "She's not my princess." it's all Vi said before closing her script.
"But you wish she was." and before Vi could explode against her, she saw Caitlyn crossing the door and finally reaching them, the pink haired getting up to meet her midway.
"Hey there." as if she wasn't almost going to kill her sister, Vi smiled at her when they met, her cheeks still flushed from all the previous teasing.
"Hi again..." the soft voice replied before reaching forward with her arms and hugging Vi by her middle, they just saw each other thirty minutes ago (and all day long) but they always acted like that.
No wonder Jinx, and the rest of the team without letting both of them know, was always teasing them.
But who could blame them? Neither of them had ever felt a connection as strong as the one they had with anyone else.
Besides, it also was a difficult scene for them to get done. Not everyday they had to fight, less Caitlyn having to hit her, something that annoyed the blue eyed mind all day long.
"You okay?" Vi asked her once the other laid her chin on her shoulder, her arms hugging her back.
"Yeah... I'm just tired from all day." she whispered, not wanting to let go, but also knowing it couldn't be a longer hug there, "Today's been a lot." she finally said pulling away, their arms still around the other.
"Yeah, I can relate." Vi tried really hard not to linger her eyes on Caitlyn's face for too long, just shrugging and giving her a slight hit with her hips, "Think about it, you can blow some of that tiredness away by hitting me."
"Vi! You know I'm not enjoying this." Caitlyn finally pulled away, crossing her arms but not fighting Vi's insistent ones pulling her close again, she could never fight that.
"I'm just joking!" her smile never fade away, even against Caitlyn's frown increasing, "It will be over soon, and I promise I'll be fine."
As much as Caitlyn wanted to discuss it, Vi wanted to reassure her, or Jinx wanted to drag them out of their love bubble, they all were interrupted by the team starting to move and the director calling them.
━━━━━━━━💌━━━━━━━━
It was easy, it was going to be just a few takes and they would be done, she was going to be careful not to hit too hard Vi, that was all Caitlyn could think about throughout the recording.
But she was too invested in not hurting Vi, that even if she never failed her lines once, her hit wasn't enough for the director.
God, it wasn't even touching the pink haired.
"Don't be afraid, Cait." she was out of her mental rambling by the voice next to her, her grip on the rifle still a bit tense, "I'll be fine! I've taken worse, you know that."
"Yeah, listen to Vi! You just have to hit hard but with force, we'll manage to insert an audio effect to make it seem real." Caitlyn didn't know if it was her constant perfectionism and tiredness, but she was finding every voice so loud against her. "C'mon, one more time!"
"Okay..." was all she managed to say before returning to their initial positions, but the light-blue haired girl made her appearance from behind them all.
"Think about some of your exes or anything like that, long legs!"
She knew it was all a joke, she knew they were all right, it was just another scene and they will be done.
But she was finding everything really fucking loud, everything too much, her mind racing and forcing her to make it all perfect, she found herself really into the anger she had to portrait right there.
"Then why are you the one acting like her?!" she could barely hear Vi finishing their lines, her bandaged hand wrapping around her arm, almost like a ghost.
She found herself letting go, taking a few breaths to steady before letting anger and fatigue consume her and janking her arm backward, feeling the moment the butt of the gun made contact with Vi's body.
But she could also hear the sound it made, the sound the post-production team was supposed to insert later, the sound Vi let out after reaching for her own self, the sound her knees made after making contact with the floor.
And oh, she knew she did a good job now, a good take for the director, just to shut them all up and be able to just go home.
But she also knew she hit Vi for real, her angry face melting into a regretting one the moment she saw the real tears on Vi's eyes before she curled herself on the floor.
"And cut! That's it! That's the real thing finally, I think we can work with everything else now."
But the rest of the voices and movements faded away for Caitlyn, dropping the fake rifle aside and reaching for Vi's body as fast as she could.
"Oh my God, Vi!" her hands made their way to Vi's back the moment she kneeled herself beside the pink haired, "I'm so sorry! Did I hit you too hard?"
She could hear her own voice desperate, almost trembling, she knew it was part of the job and the script, it was what all wanted from her, but she still regretted the force she applied without intention.
"It's fine it's fine..." she heard Vi's raspy voice, her head was still against the floor, Caitlyn's hands petting her back still worried, "You just hit my crotch..."
The moment the statement left Vi's lips, they both heard Jinx's infuriating laugh from behind Vi's body and in front of Caitlyn, phone already lifted up and recording the moment.
"Powder!" was all Caitlyn could say, at first Vi was the only one who could call her by that name, but after those two years (and the previous joke that exhausted Caitlyn's patience), even Jinx found herself liking to be called like that by her, "Stop laughing and bring her some ice!"
"As if it's going to help her..." even though she was complaining, she wiped a stray tear from her previous laugh and stopped recording, moving away to follow her command.
"Are you really alright?" she asked again, helping Vi to come up the floor and sit next to her, her bandaged arms were still around her lower side, one of her eyes still closed and fighting more tears.
"It's fine Cupcake..." after taking some breaths, Vi looked at her, smiling to make the worry go away, "The pain it's already fading."
But it would take more for Caitlyn to stop frowning and feeling guilty, her hand still on the pink haired back and the other reaching her knee.
So Vi just untangled one of her own hands and reached for the one on her knee, intertwining them and giving her a squeeze.
"You can make it up to me with a take away?" still smiling, she knew Caitlyn could start to relax, showing her she wasn't angry at her, stopping her intrusive thoughts, the blue haired returning the squeeze seconds later.
"Okay..." she couldn't help herself from moving closer and pulling Vi's body from her arm on her back, hugging her and letting her head fall against her shoulder, "At my place?"
━━━━━━━━💌━━━━━━━━
"Powder, please, could you just... stop talking for a minute?" Vi was already feeling the headache blooming, her frown making it even worse and her hand falling against her forehead.
They barely were twenty minutes in there, Jinx didn't even have to be there, her last recordings being the following day, but she couldn't even think about missing 'the grand day' as she called it.
The pink haired didn't even know why they had to organize a whole day just to record a single scene, the good side only being they could all go home earlier than ever.
She didn't want to think about the other good, selfish and agonizing other side.
She also was glad that, even with Jinx there, the moment they had to start recording the kiss, it would only be the director, the intimacy coordinator, the camera, Caitlyn and her.
Jinx insisted either way that she wanted to be present, to see her face the moment they had to leave the studio.
She at least managed to shut her sister for a couple of minutes, while waiting to have everything set up.
She wished those minutes could last a bit longer.
"There she is!" she heard Jinx next to her, her headache making her squirm and frown one more time, "C'mon, don't make her wait, get up and ready so you can finish and tell me ALL about it!"
It wasn't until she finished that Vi knew she was referring to Caitlyn, lifting her head up from in between her hands and watching the blue haired saying goodbye to her stylist.
Vi never cared about the little things before she met Caitlyn, she never cared about how girls did their make up or styled her hair, she knew she just liked them.
And she still didn't care now, if Caitlyn appeared with her hair died or completely bald, she will always think of her as the most beautiful girl she had ever seen.
But even not caring about it, she still got the time and the urge to admire her every chance she had, just like now.
She loved the way her blue eyes stood out even more with the dark makeup on her eye sockets, the way her hands were covered but still seemed so tiny for her, the way a single lock of hair made its way on her face while the rest was up.
Even though her favorite hairstyle was just seeing her loose hair.
"Hurry up, you stupid!" Vi was brought up to reality thanks to her, again, sister's insistent voice, as well as her headache, "Don't forget to give me the details!" and before leaving the room, Jinx managed to push her slightly forward.
So once the light blue haired was out of her sight, and taking a last breath, she walked the few steps that separated her from the (once again) impossibly love of her life.
"Hi." she heard Caitlyn's voice when they were close enough, closer than everyone else could think of as necessary for a conversation, but not close enough for either of them.
"Hey..." Vi greeted back, she wished the custom had pockets so she could stop her nervous fidgeting with her hands, stop it from Caitlyn's curious eyes looking at them and her face.
"You okay?" she asked, reaching for her forearms and just holding them as if they could break, Vi didn't wait any longer to wrap her hands around her thin covered arms back, "You seem nervous."
"I'm okay..." 'No, I'm not' she thought to herself, "I just..." she tried to speak again, looking down at their joined arms then her eyes, "It's nothing."
Before she could regret opening her mouth, even though she didn't say anything at all, she felt one of Caitlyn's hand lifting her head up from her jaw, making them look at each other.
"Hey, we're okay, right?" the taller one waited a few seconds for Vi to respond, in this case nod, before talking once again, "We'll be fine, it's just another take."
"Yeah..." Vi finally replied, not bothering to think about anything else before wrapping her arms around the other in a hug, thinking it was everything but 'another take' to her.
"We're getting even more emotional about this than the real angst ones." she heard Caitlyn's voice, laughing at both of them, before she returned the hug.
"Oh, shut up." Vi fought every bad feeling of thought back to just laugh with her, forgetting about her insecurities at least for a couple minutes, which was what the hug lasted.
They could be still there for hours, hugging each other no matter where, but they were interrupted by the few people remaining in the room.
"All right lovebirds, from take one." the director called them, waiting for them to at least unwrap their arms and look at him, "This one will be easy for both of you."
They didn't miss the way they all looked at them, the suggestive tone and eyes towards them.
As well as either one from the team didn't miss the way their cheeks got heated up and flushed.

'C’mon, you got this, it's just a kiss, nothing more.'
'Or, well, maybe a couple of kisses, if they need more takes, that's completely fine.'
But it wasn't, no matter how many times Caitlyn tried to calm her anxiety down, it wasn't just a kiss.
She didn't even know how she got the guts to say 'It's just another take.' to Vi, she could seem calm and unbothered in front of everyone when she needed to, but she could never lie to herself.
She could have maybe reassure Vi better, reassure them both the moment she saw her that nervous, show her she was as nervous as her, maybe that could have led them to a better conversation later, one that maybe, just maybe, could have been by her side.
'I'm just as nervous as you are, I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks.'
'I don't wanna mess up our friendship but I can't stop thinking about you.'
'I get obsessive with you and all that I want is attention from you.'
'I just want you to love me the way I love you.'
Yeah, she would need something more than a 'just maybe' to have that kind of conversation leading towards the right side.
"All right, from the start one more time." the director's voice broke all her internal thoughts, bringing her right where they were, "This time let's take it to the end in a single take, so don't stop until we call you."
She could see from the corner of her eye the three, four maybe, people watching, making her less nervous about the environment, she could also see Vi in front of her.
Already settled, seated slightly on the decoration tube behind her, looking around and waiting for the final sign.
Caitlyn couldn't help the way her eyes averted from her face to her strong covered thighs, how the details of the costume pressed into her skin.
She looked up as fast as she could, like her own thoughts and the mere action of looking could burn her, and made eye contact with Vi.
She didn't know if Vi caught her in the act, but she just smiled at her, her last reassurance before starting the take, before everything could maybe change nothing or everything in their friendship.
She just smiled back before hearing the 'And, action!' from the director, sighing on last time and getting into the role.
Caitlyn thanked herself for multitasking, either way she couldn't keep up with her lines while her mind was everywhere but there.
She took advantage of her thoughts while expressing her emotions physically, the constant race, the constant come and go making her frown, relax, sigh, while listening to Vi's lines just a mere meters from her.
"My sister is gone, there's only Jinx now." she could hear Vi's voice going up a couple of tones, but still almost whispering with vulnerability, "It has to end."
She caught herself letting go her frown gently, Vi's voice always had an effect on her no matter what she was doing or talking about.
If she didn't concentrate enough she was probably going to act on pure instinct just from her friend's voice.
"I'm so sorry about your mother but please just..." Caitlyn could swear she caught Vi's eyes tearing, her lips parting slightly in shock, "Everyone in my life has changed, promise me you won't change."
Vi stopped looking at her before those final lines, but now her eyes were fully closed and her head adverted to the right, she couldn't see Caitlyn's face.
Caitlyn could swear Vi almost forgot about her if she didn't know the next lines from the script.
So Caitlyn didn't make her wait anymore, didn't make any of them both wait, she forgot about the rest a long time ago.
She walked towards her the few steps remaining, placing her hand on Vi's left cheek, startling her (or at least that was what she intended to pretend) and making her finally look at her.
Caitlyn's mind never stopped from a moment, her lines messing up with her thoughts, her role's emotions mixing with her own, but the moment she saw those gray eyes looking back at her, she forgot about everything.
After a last sigh, her hand never leaving the pink haired cheek, she started to lean on closer, her eyes landing on the other's lips, looking how they parted and feeling, hearing, how Vi started to take a few breaths, she seemed almost desperate.
Caitlyn wanted to think it was her own effect towards Vi, and not a simple role.
Before finally leaning in completely, her eyes flew up to her eyes, making sure Vi was okay, even though it was part of the plan, of the script, the whole show.
She finally gave up on everything the moment she saw Vi's heavy eyes on her lips, just leaning and breaking the distance between them.
Caitlyn thought this a lot of times, about their possible first kiss, thinking how she could have the courage, the guts to just confess to her friend and break the distance.
She even thought about this moment before knowing it would happen, one of her millions of imaginary scenarios being this one, kissing in front of the cameras.
But what she could never imagine, was the way Vi's lips felt against hers. Thin lips against ones more protruding, soft ones against scarred (blame Vi's anxiety), Vi’s lips enveloping her lower lip.
She could have never been prepared for that feeling, the same as coming home after a long day, smelling your favorite scent, or even hearing your favorite song, Caitlyn could never explain that feeling.
Like home and breathtaking at the same time.
But what she knew was, it couldn't last longer, it was specifically described as 'a mere contact, shy and new at the same time', and as much as she wanted to complain, job was job, and her friendship was just that, a friendship.
And she didn't want to lose Vi over her own feelings.
Once she pulled away, she kept looking at Vi's parted lips, now glassy and a little swollen just from that.
She thanked the writers for the specifications of her avoiding eye contact in the first seconds.
"I won't." she finally continued with her lines, finally looking at Vi in the eye and seeing how breathtaking the image in front of her was.
Vi was frowning slightly, she supposed from the confusion and intensity of the moment, looking down at her lips, Caitlyn moved her hand from Vi's nape to her cheek again, she didn't even know when she moved it backwards.
But she just wanted Vi to look at her, to make eye contact and both wait for the director's voice to cut the take, to finish the scene, they did their lines and they just had to wait for the director's orders one more time.
But oh, how wrong she was, the moment that voice never came, the moment Vi's gauntlets fell down on the floor, her hands finally free, but Caitlyn never heard the cut coming, why was Vi moving?
She couldn't think about it more, her mind filled up with just Vi, Vi, Vi, the moment their lips met one more time.
━━━━━━━━💌━━━━━━━━
Vi was moving on autopilot, she didn't even know what she was doing, just leaning forward and chasing Caitlyn's lips one more time.
But she couldn't control herself from all the emotions mixing and exploding inside of her at the same time, she couldn't stay still and just wait for the other people around them to finish the take.
She needed to move, and she needed to do it now.
She could think about the consequences later, she just needed Caitlyn close, closer, closer again.
So Vi just gave up on her impulsivity, as many times before in her life, and crashed her lips against Caitlyn's one more time.
But as much as she was feeling impulsive, her heart racing, her hands reaching for Caitlyn's neck and back almost desperately, she kissed her as careful, soft and slow as she could while feeling like it was the last meal on earth.
She moved her lips against Caitlyn's almost every two seconds, just wanting to feel them together but savor her as much as she could at the same time.
And oh, she felt selfish about it, about breaking the rules and just giving in to her feelings, the consequences and anxious thoughts making their way back to her body almost immediately.
But when she felt Caitlyn's hands, which never left their spot on her cheek and thigh, gripping her skin slightly but with the same anxiousness, and felt her finally kissing back, Vi decided she just wanted to relax and enjoy their last moments before someone could interrupt them.
Before she herself destroyed their friendship because of her stupid feelings.
They kissed like there was no tomorrow, slow but hungry at the same time.
If Vi enjoyed the feeling of Caitlyn's lower lip in between her own lips, something that happened accidentally, now she was mesmerized by it, every chance she had to pull it inside her mouth, to hear Caitlyn's breathing speeding up slightly, she would just take it.
She felt Caitlyn's gloved hand one more time on her nape, petting, gripping, pulling her closer even when it was impossible, making her squirm and frown a bit just by how good it felt, her own hands making sure Caitlyn was close and comfortable, moving up and down her back and interlacing her fingers with the loose hairs on the back of her neck.
As always, they could just stay in there, in that moment, forever, forget about everything else and just be them, or at least that was what Vi wanted to pretend, but she didn't even know if she was doing the right thing.
She gave up on her feelings and the 'heated' moment, but what about Caitlyn?
'Could she feel the same way as I feel?'
'Is it impossible to believe that she just like me back?'
'Or maybe she's just letting go because of the take and then she gets mad at me for...'
Her thoughts never took a longer way, interrupted once again by a distant voice from the background of their kiss.
"And cut!" it took them a couple of seconds to compose themselves, startled by the director's voice and pulling away from each other, at least their lips, their hands remained close and gripping, "That was perfect! It wasn't even in the script but you guys nailed it! Now we can just work from..."
But Vi never heard anything more, her ears ringing and buzzing from everything at the same time, the only thing that grounded her into the present was Caitlyn.
Caitlyn, who was leaning forward one more time, but this time hiding her face on Vi's neck, her hands never stopped the grip on her body, so Vi just stood there and hugged her back.
"Are you alright..?" she asked, whispered, voice trembling, breath uneven from the kiss, but mostly anxiousness making its way back to her body and head, "I'm sorry if I..."
"You two seem a bit startled..." she was interrupted one more fucking time by the distant voices, she had to fight herself from giving them a killing look, "Let's take a 10 minutes break."
Vi thanked whoever she had to thank for that break, watching how everyone left the room and left them both alone.
Now she could at least panic in peace, no eyes watching, just her and her thoughts.
And the body buried on hers.
"Cait..." she called her one more time, at least she felt how their breathing were normal again, but her thoughts weren't that lucky, "Look, I'm sorry if I made you feel pressured or obligated or anything like... I'm sorry I just messed this up, messed us up but..."
She kept interrupting herself, taking breaths or looking everywhere but down to Caitlyn, she could feel her hands shaking even when she had them tightened on Caitlyn's uniform.
"I just... want you to feel okay..." she gave up on trying to spill out everything at the same time, biting her lower lip and waiting for Caitlyn to just say something.
If she didn't want to look her in the eyes while telling her how wrong and bad she felt it was fine by Vi, she at least needed to make sure she was okay before everything went down forever.
She got into another spiral of thoughts for she didn't even know how much time, but the moment Caitlyn just leaned up and backwards from her neck, Vi just looked for her face and eyes desperately.
She didn't know what she had in front of her, what type of Caitlyn she was looking at.
Her cheeks were flushed, her face slightly frowned showing a bit of confusion but at the same time vulnerable, it seemed like they never broke the character to begin with.
Was it a flustered Caitlyn? Angry? Confused or regretted about everything and just was looking for the right words to tell her to fuck off?
"Vi" she heard her name in between the storm inside her head.
Caitlyn's hands now on both her shoulders, Vi moving hers slowly to her waist, maybe that way she could feel less trapped, or that's what Vi wanted to think.
They looked each other into the eyes, Vi waiting for whatever Caitlyn wanted to say, anything, Caitlyn looking for her own words to spill out.
"Do you..." Vi was so anxious she didn't even know how she could stay still while waiting, "Do you feel the same way as I do?"
Vi could only frown, those words making its way onto her mind but never understanding them fully, the same way? What was she talking about?
Could Caitlyn be really suggesting what she always craved the most?
Caitlyn saw the hesitation and confusion on her face, having mercy and forgetting about her own thoughts to make the situation clearer.
"I like you, Vi..." Vi's face had never changed that fast before, her frown disappearing and making room for complete shock, "But I've never wanted to ask more from you because... our friendship is so dear to me, I could never think about losing it or losing you..."
Now was Caitlyn's turn to just ramble, but Vi's mind seemed even faster than her words, her face blank but never leaving Caitlyn's eyes, even when now it was her who avoided her sight.
She felt Caitlyn's hands tightening against her uniform, too anxious, too worried, she could see Caitlyn's lips moving but she could barely hear her.
Vi was just thinking about her confession, about their feelings, about wanting Caitlyn's worries and fears to disappear.
"... and I understand if you don't feel the same way, or maybe we're not in the same line and I'm not reading the situation well enough..." but nothing, Caitlyn didn't have to worry about anything else, she didn't need to talk or think anymore.
And Vi made sure to shut her up by leaning forward and looking for her lips one more time.
She wanted to devour her right there, but she knew they didn't have enough time, they needed to keep going in a few more minutes, and most importantly, she needed to make sure Caitlyn knew they were in the same boat.
So she kissed her slowly once again, not letting Caitlyn go even if she wasn't trying to, holding her by the waist and pulling her closer, their hips meeting and making them both react.
Vi's body tensed but wrapped Caitlyn with her arms around her lower back, Caitlyn letting out a little whimper and hugging Vi by her neck, before they pulled away one more time.
Vi made sure their contact was as much as possible by leaning her forehead against Caitlyn's.
"I like you, Caitlyn." she said, she started while her eyes never left Caitlyn's, which she could swear were trembling, she wished it was from emotion, "I really like you, and whatever thought you have in there..." she nuzzled her forehead against the blue haired, making them both laugh, "Doesn't compare to reality, to my true feelings, so just forget about them."
"Vi..." Caitlyn wanted to believe her, and she was, but she also wanted to remind her, "You were almost having a panic attack before I started rambling..."
And they laughed again, because it was true, they were both right and a mess, wasting who knows how much time before getting to properly talk.
But Vi couldn't blame them, neither could Caitlyn, yeah they were a mess together, but they were also right about their connection.
Vi have never met someone like Caitlyn before, have never felt the way she felt with Caitlyn with anyone.
And she guessed Caitlyn felt the same way as her.
"We're okay then?" she asked just as Caitlyn before, she reassured Caitlyn just seconds ago, but she needed Caitlyn to reassure her too.
She wanted to feel selfish one more time.
"I told you, Vi." Caitlyn moved her hands to her nape and cheek, just as before, "We're okay... but you and I are having a proper conversation after getting rid of these costumes and everyone else."
"Deal." was all Vi whispered back before, one more time, and probably not the last, she rejoined their lips with another slow and tender kiss.
This time they forgot about everything else, they could talk about it better later, they forgot about their roles and the script.
They even forgot about the time that passed, when everyone else returned and reminded them they were still on the job, even when everyone laughed at them and practically untangled their bodies to make them take the positions.
What they wouldn't forget would be their reactions when, days later, they were given the scripts for Act 3, and they had to see it was more than just a kiss what they had to record this time.
