Getting Ready
Ezran stretched his arms above his head as he made his way towards the kitchen only to pause when he passed Callum’s room and saw a very frazzled-looking Callum tossing his clothes around.
“Cal? What the hell are you doing?” He questioned as he stepped into the room and Callum jumped as he whirled around to face him, his hair was super messy and his shirt was inside out.
“Hey, Ez what’s up?” He asked in an attempt to seem nonchalant but Ezran just raised an unimpressed eyebrow.
“Why the hell are you tossing your clothes around like they’ve offended you?” He questioned and it looked like Callum was going to brush it off but ultimately he just hung his head in defeat.
“I have a date tonight and I have no idea what to wear” He said sadly and Ezran blinked a few times before he burst out laughing.
“Did the little furry get himself a date?” He asked teasingly to which Callum just huffed and crossed his arms in annoyance as his tail puffed up slightly.
“Are you going to mock me or are you going to help?” He questioned agitated and Ezran chuckled some more as he stepped further into the room.
“Do not doubt my multitasking abilities bitch” He said cheekily earning him a groan of annoyance from Callum which just made him laugh some more.
“Don’t worry I won’t let you embarrass yourself in front of Dawn” He said simply as he picked through a couple of shirts totally missing how Callum had stiffened up in surprise.
“How do you know I’m going out with Dawn?” He questioned and Ezran turned to give him a deadpanned look.
“Because you're a simp” He said simply which earned him a squawk of indignation from Callum.
“I am not a simp!” He cried out but he was drowned out by Ezran’s laughter.
"Of course, you're not" He said cheekily and Callum just grumbled a little to himself as he went through his clothes, maybe Ezran wasn't the best person to ask for help.
“I can’t believe my baby is already all grown up and going on dates!” Soren said dramatically as he lounged on Dawn’s bed who just rolled her eyes fondly as she allowed Eric to paint her nails while Julian went through her closet.
“I think you should wear this” Julian announced as he pulled out a short black skirt from her closet, it had been a gift from Briar but she had only worn it once or twice as the amount of skin it showed made her a bit uncomfortable.
“I’m not wearing the skirt Julian” She said stubbornly which earned her a childish whine from said duck hybrid.
“But you’ll look so good in it” He whined dramatically and Dawn rolled her eyes once again as a slight blush dusted across her cheeks.
“We're going out to a fancy restaurant so I want to wear something equally fancy” She said simply as she attempted to turn to look at Julian only for Eric to grab her wrists to prevent her from moving.
“Stop moving” He scolded softly and Dawn gave him a sheepish smile as she complied.
“Fine” Julian said dramatically once more before going back to rifling through her closet.
“Have you heard anything from Logan?” Dawn asked as she glanced at Soren who glanced at his phone briefly before shaking his head.
“No not yet, but he’s probably just sleeping you know him” He said simply and Dawn sighed as she nodded in agreement, she had invited all four of them over to help her get ready but Logan had flat out ignored her text which kinda hurt but Soren was probably right he was almost always sleeping after all.
“Wow, where did you get this?” Julian questioned in surprise as he pulled a dress out from the back of the closet, it had a black off-the-shoulder top and a ruby-red bottom that went to the floor. Dawn blushed brightly when she looked at it.
“Delia got it for me last Christmas but I’ve never worn it” She admitted shyly and a bright grin appeared on Julian’s face.
“Then this is the perfect time to wear it!” He announced cheerfully and Dawn blushed even brighter.
“Wha-! No, I can’t!” She exclaimed loudly and Soren sat up in confusion as he shared a baffled look with his boyfriends.
“Why not?” He asked and Dawn stuttered out a bunch of half-assed excuses and the triad let out sighs as they realized that the blonde was just letting her insecurities get to her head.
“I think you’d look really pretty in it” Eric admitted gently as he put the nail polish away and Dawn shifted in her seat a little unsurely.
“At least try it on? And if you don’t like it we can always find something else for you to wear” He said comfortingly and Dawn took in a deep breath as she nodded in agreement.
“Your right…. Okay yeah, I’ll try it on” She said a little bit more confidently as she stood up and turned to face Julian who held out the dresses eagerly but with a soft smile on his face.
“You’ll look amazing” He said confidently and Dawn grinned a little wider as she took the dresses and slipped into the bathroom. Soren slipped his phone out and got ready to take some pictures.
“What are you doing?” Eric questioned as he moved to sit next to Soren followed by Julian while the pyro gave them a cheeky grin.
“I’m going to make Logan regret missing out on this” He said cheekily earring him laughter from both of his boyfriends.
“I don’t know, what do you guys think?” Dawn asked anxiously as she stepped back into the room and Soren almost forgot to take pictures as he and the others stared at Dawn in awe.
“You look like a princess!” Eric gushed excitedly as he clapped his hands together and Dawn blushed bashfully as she gazed down at herself.
“Do… do you think Callum will like it?” She asked hopefully and Julian huffed a little in amusement.
“Dawn, darling, Callum got a nosebleed from seeing you in a suit if he doesn’t swoon just a little bit at the sight of you then I’ll be genuinely shocked” He said in amusement and Dawn grinned a little lovesick as she ran her fingers along the dress only to suddenly blink in surprise.
“It has pockets!” She exclaimed in awe as she shoved her hands into said pockets earning her fond chuckles from the triad.
“Well, then you have to wear it!” Soren announced cheerfully and Dawn chuckled a little bit in agreement only to frown as she reached up to touch the scar on her shoulder that the sleeves of the dress did not cover.
“Do… do you think this will be too distracting?” She asked unsurely which made three give her soft looks.
“Callum likes you for you, one more scar isn’t going to change that” Julian said reassuringly and Dawn let out a soft sigh as her smile returned only to jump a little when she heard the doorbell ring, her head snapped towards the clock and her eyes widen when she saw the time.
“That’s Callum!” She gasped in surprise and Julian got off of the bed so that he could throw his arm around the blonde's shoulders.
“Well then let's go knock lover boy off his feet” He said cheekily as Soren handed Dawn her phone and keys and Eric handed her the flats that went with the dress.
“Alright, let's do this” She said confidently as she slipped the flats on and headed for the door with the triad following close behind.
