The forth year at Hogwarts turned into a disaster,in all forms and shapes. Nothing could turn the time back and undo the horrors of the night when Lord Voldemort returned. Everybody lost something that day, more or less Harriette Potter couldn't say.
Being back with the Dursleys was as much a nightmare as it was a blessing, away from the world that belived she was a liar. But living with the people who hated her from the very begining, was not part of her plans for the summer. Not only she was held here by Dumbledore's last words to her,but so was Hedwig, her most loyal companion was held like some wild animal in the cage by the desk in her room. Vernon tought it might eat the neighbors or freak out and find out what a freak they had in their house. Despite all this nonsense drama,Harriette would stay all night to let her beloved have the taste of freedom, and also to let her inside before Vernon was headed to work,or even before he or Petunia could wake.
This sacrafice of sleep she made was not entirely because of Hedwig, ever since Cedric died she would get a nightmare every time she closed her eyes. Always feeling like a deja vu,her dreams were not just dreams, she could feel them all. Espacially the guilt, not because Voldemort killed him,no, because she couldn't do anything. All she did was stare as his body hit the ground, leaving his eyes cold and unmoving.
All of this turned to be mostly a forgetten memory and a vivid reason for Rita Skeeter to write shit about her, Fudge's reaction was mostly of an ignorant child too, bloody and miserable as she was she saw the fear, behind the false bravado he mustered. Calling her a liar was an insult.to Cedric and his mourning family who had to attend at a funeral instead of a graduation.
Altough, there was a certain Dark Lord who wanted her dead more than anything,Harriette was no match for him in magical skills and duelling, she was well aware, but the night in the graveyard was a win for her,she did not die at the hands of her parent's murderer yet, and she would do anything to keep it that way. For this was not her war.
