Sirius POV
Everyone knew it would be a bad moon. But nothing would've prepared Sirius to see  the love of his life tear open his own stomach, bash his body against the shack walls, and slam his head till it split. That weekend in Hogsmead, Remus had smelled Greyback himself, along with four other werewolves. They had been looking for him. They had immediately returned to the castle, and told Dumbledore. Dumbledore insisted they couldn't do anything, couldn't let the werewolves know Remus was loyal to the wizarding world, since Remus acted as a spy. Sirius had wanted to strangle that stupid old wanker. Remus hadn't slept for days, or really ate much. He was like a ghost. And now he was destroying himself, the wolf let out whines of fright, at the smell of Greyback. Nothing Padfoot did could calm him, or stop him from hurting himself. The wolf had thrown Padfoot and Prongs into the corner, and they had the wind knocked out of them. Wormtail had cowered away, ducking into a hole in the shack, presumably fleeing. Padfoot repeatedly put himself in-between the wolf, but the wolf didn't care. Usually he would for Padfoot, sensing their human connection. But nothing worked. Eventually the moon waned and disappeared, and Remus's limbs snapped and shrunk, and the wolf whine turned into a human cry. Sirius ran to him, pulling him into his lap.
"Moony, please moony." He begged. Remus sobbed and sobbed, like Sirius had never seen him. They both were sitting in a pool of Remus's blood, and Remus was shaking, gasping, and hyperventilating.
"I know, I know, I know. Please moony, stay awake. Please Rem." Remus's eyes were fluttering. "Moony please! James help me!" James tugged his cloak off, sitting across from them, holding it down to his stomach, where Remus was bleeding out. Remus gasped in pain, and continued hyperventilating. "It's okay Rem, just stay awake." Remus's eyes were fighting to stay open. "Look at me Rem, please look at me! Please don't leave me." Sirius was crying too, where the fuck was Madam Pomfrey?  She was usually here by now. Trying to drag Remus back to the castle was a joke, that wasn't going to happen. "James, get Madame Pomfrey." James nodded, handing the cloak to Sirius. James ran down the tunnel, only to return a moment later.
"Fucking wormtail! He left! I can't press the knob!" Usually Peter pressed the knob, because he could get past the branches as a rat. Sirius was going to kill Peter. If Remus died, it would be his fault, and he would pay in blood. But Sirius didn't say any of that, just kept holding the cloak to Remus with one hand, cradling him in the other. To his horror, Remus's gasps became shorter and shorter.
"S-Siri" Remus gasped desperately.
"Yes, moons?" Sirius tried not to cry.
"I l-love y-you." His voice came out weak, and scratchy. It was barely audible. It was the first time he had said that. Sirius had, but Remus hadn't. Not to anyone, ever. Sirius hadn't wanted to pressure him.
"I love you too." But as he said it, Remus's eyes drifted close. His body stilled. The shaking stopped, the gasping and hyperventilating stopped. The blood still spilled from beneath the cloak, and in a halo around his head, onto Sirius's hand where he held Remus's head. "No. No, no, no, NO!" he shook his head "JAMES HELP ME!" He sobbed. "Moony please wake up!" He shook him, but to no avail. He was holding a dead body. Then Madame Pomfrey stormed through, and it was all a blur. She was fifteen minutes late. Which maybe wasn't much, but to someone bleeding out, it was excruciatingly long. Sirius sobbed, and felt his hands being pried away from Remus. James supported Sirius as they walked out of the shack. "He's alive Sirius, it's okay." He said, gripping Sirius's shoulder
"What?"
"Madame Pomfrey restarted his heart. He's okay." Sirius felt relief flood his body. He nearly crumpled to the ground.

He waited by Remus's side in the hospital wing for the next five days, where Remus didn't wake up. James came as well, and Peter tried to. But Sirius had screamed at him till his throat gave out, and Peter never returned. Sirius had convinced Pomfrey to let him sleep in the wing as well. She had seen him kiss Remus's head earlier, and now she pretty much knew about them, and took pity on Sirius. That night, Sirius was sitting next to Remus on his bed, watching him breathe. It was scary how still he was. Sirius had watched him sleep before. Usually it gave him comfort, the way his eyes and mouth would twitch in his sleep, or his hand or foot would spasm. But now he lies there like a corpse, unmoving. But then, a small skinny hand found his, and interlocked them. "Sirius" he murmured. His eyes remain closed. He was asleep. Sirius smiled a bit, "It's me Moony. I didn't get to tell you, I love you too." He whispered, brushing his hands through Remus's curls.

It was another three days before Remus woke up. It was late at night, but Sirius was awake, watching Remus sleep. His eyes didn't open, but once again, his hand reached out, and held onto Sirius's.
"I love you." He whispered
"I love you too." A soft smile played out onto Remus's face, his eyes still closed.
"Are you properly awake?" Sirius asked. Remus forced his eyes open, and he blinked furiously.
"Hey there." He said, looking into Remus's eyes.
"I died." Sirius shuddered at the memory, and wrapped his arms around Remus, holding him, and never wanting to let go.
"You gave me quite a fright there." Remus nodded, resting his head on Sirius's shoulder
"I thought about you."
"What do you mean?" Sirius asked, brushing his hands through Remus's tawny hair.
"When I died. I saw all sorts of happy things. Before I was bitten, when my mum was alive, becoming friends with you all, pulling our first prank together. But mostly you. Our first kiss, our late night talks, sleeping next to each other, dancing with you in the common room, listening to Bowie." Remus paused, before continuing. "I always loved you. I'm sorry it took me bleeding out for me to tell you." Sirius laughed shakily, and turned Remus's head, and kissed him gently.
"It's okay. I knew."
