A Potential Rival Or Ally?

"It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends."
― Albus Dumbledore

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

‘What are you thinking about? Is it your next move? You better make your next move something wicked. I'm a pretty competitive person, Midoriya, so you better give me a challenge.' I thought as I stared intensely at him. He clutched the baseball tightly in his hand, pulling his arm backwards he launched his arm holding the ball forward, but it was different from his first time trying to activate his quirk. Instead of red glowing veins running all over throughout his arm, it instead ran through his index finger last minute as he released the ball into the air.

An extremely cold gust of wind followed the ball as it rapidly flew in the air, despite being far from where Midoriya was standing, I could still feel the pressure of the wind and my hair became a little messy as it flew due to the extremely powerful wind. Midoriya looked in a constipated expression as he stared intently at the baseball flying higher and higher into the sky.

I too like most of my classmates let out a shocked gasp as I stared at the ball in a state of shock, in fact even Bakugo, finally shut up and was put into his place, his eyes shot wide open and his jaw dropped open as he froze in shock at Midoriya-kun's quirk. I wanted to make a snarky comment at Bakugo, I wanted to tell him to close his mouth or he'll catch flies in it, but I refrained from doing that because of sensei.

'This power… Midoriya, you exceeded my expectations. I look forward to the future, for our first duel.' I thought eagerly. My expression turned from a shocked one to an amused one. I looked at Midoriya-kun to study his reaction about the whole thing and what I saw made the amused expression wipe off from my face and a concerned one replaced it. His expression was though he was in pain and bullets of sweat ran down from his face.

My eyes eventually trailed towards his hand that threw the ball, 'What the bloody hell is that?!' I thought to myself as I looked at his index finger which he activated his quirk from. His whole index finger was covered in a deep shade of purple bruise and from where I was standing it looked fractured. 'Does every time he uses his quirk he gets hurt? This is what you meant by if you break down again, isn't it sensei? Great power doesn't only come with great responsibility, but also a large drawback, I guess.' I thought with a sigh.

"Such a large drawback…" I whispered quietly, but it seems like I wasn't quiet enough.
Todoroki replied to my comment with a nod, "I agree, you would definitely be put at a disadvantage if everytime you used your quirk, you'd get hurt."

I plainly looked at him and nodded back. 'He's like the rest, it would be better if you don't associate with him or even Mina-chan, unless you are required to, as to not be rude.' I told myself something that my mother would probably tell me if she were here right now. It's already a definite that mum doesn't want me to associate with humans/muggles.

She's holding me back from making connections and friends in the human world and I am completely neutral to that and all of her thoughts and opinions, despite what I told myself, there was still a part of me inside that didn't want to listen to the advices of my mother, that didn't want to stop associating myself with my classmates or any muggles, unfortunately for my mother.

This part of me was bigger and I was leaning more towards listening to this part of me. I didn't want to stop associating myself with muggles just because they're muggles or selfish creatures. I believe that anyone who's willing to change can change, and that there's no reason that I should hold myself back from talking to them just because of my mother's advice.

'(Y/n), you choose for yourself. Follow the path you've already started, this is the right one, you can feel it, can't you? Follow your own advice and sayings, not the ones that mother says, just don't forget what she says though maybe some of them could be of use. Remember the first step to changing, is to be friends with them..' I reminded myself, but before my thoughts could continue, it was cut off by gravity catching up with the baseball causing it to fall straight back down rapidly, as it fell to the ground it bounced back up and down, leaving a large thud behind it, rolling forward until it finally stopped.

"Sensei, I haven't broken down yet." Midoriya said as he put his hand over the forearm of the hand he used to throw the ball, clenching his fingers tightly into a fist, he bit his bottom lip and squinted his eyes a bit from the pain he was experiencing.
"This kid…" Aizawa-sensei said, a bit frustrated at Midoriya.

'Congratulations Midoriya, whether or not you end up last place in this test, I bet on all my chocolate frog's cards that Sensei won't expel you for your potential.' I thought to myself.

Aizawa-sensei glared at Midoriya a bit and then began to speak, "Midoriya, your score is 705.3, although I'll admit that what you did was clever, it was still reckless. You better find a way to control your quirk. What would happen if you lost all of your fingers? Break down and hope someone will save you?"
"No, sensei. I'll figure out a way to control it soon…"Midoriya replied quietly, still in pain.
"Alright, I'll take your word for it now. Now, go to recovery girl and get your finger fixed up. You're excused from your classes until you come back from recovery girl." Aizawa-sensei said lazily as he walked towards us, to probably show our scores since now that everyone has finished taking the test.
"Over 700 meters?!" Denki said in amazement, which made me giggle a bit.
"He finally got a hero-like score!" Uraraka yelled out happily as she raised both of her clenched fists in the air dramatically.
Iida draped his hand over his eyes to help him take a better look at Midoriya's finger that was currently broken. "His finger is swelling." Iida then placed the hand that was draped over his eyes onto his chin as he began to think. "The entrance exam too… What a strange quirk."
"Not so stylish though" A blonde fake French guy commented.

I quickly turned my head towards Bakugo as to study his reaction. I can clearly tell that he looks down on Midoriya… And everyone around him which includes me of course, but mostly Midoriya. 'Even if I’m not the one he looks down on the most, I still hate that he looks down on me. I bloody hate it when anyone looks down on me, so let me ask you this question, Bakugo? What does it feel like? How does it feel like to be the one being looked down on now? How does it feel like to be wrong? How does it feel like when the one you looked down on, defied your words? I hope you feel terrific because I definitely sure am.' I thought with a grin as I placed one of my hands on my hip.

Suddenly, I heard small booms of explosions near me, quickly turning my head towards Bakugo. His palms were ignited with small explosions just like before, sweat was quickly gathering around his arms from the heat, but just as it formed it evaporated. Bakugo's eyes were twitching and his face was crunched up into an extremely furious expression.

"Hey! Tell me what's going on, Deku!" Bakugo yelled for what felt like the hundredth time for this hour only.

'Deku? Doesn't that mean useless?' I questioned in my head at Bakugo. Bakugo began sprinting towards Midoriya-kun in what I believe is called a Naruto run? (I heard it from Denki-kun) But instead of his arms flailing behind his back it was facing towards Midoriya with multiple tiny explosions going off on it. Midoriya, seeing Bakugo running towards him at full speed, began screaming in fear.

His eyes turned completely white in fear, his messy emerald green hair stood up straight, his skin turned extremely pale, and his face began to discharge bullets of sweat. His arms were also completely glued to his body and I bet he couldn't even move from the fear. But before a fight could break out Aizawa-sensei's scarf immediately flew towards Bakugo, just like what happened previously, the scarf cased itself around Bakugo, rendering him completely helpless and unable to move. But unlike before, it didn't completely wrap around him, instead it wrapped itself around Bakugo's head, under his armpits, and around his waist.

"This is your first strike, Bakugo. One more and I will expel you right this instance. Don't make me use my quirk again and again. I have dry eyes." Aizawa-sensei scolded the mutt.

Like before Aizawa-sensei's eyes were bloodshot red and tired, his hair was floating in the air, and he was glaring at Bakugo. The tension once again grew thick quickly and then everyone became extremely quiet from Aizawa’s aura alone which elicited anger.

"We're wasting time. Get ready for the next test." Aizawa-sensei said as he let go of Bakugo and walked away.

Most of the class sweat streamed down their heads in not only fear and nervousness, but of what's going to happen next. Was he going to do something that might get him expelled? Hopefully not, I still want to challenge him and defeat him. But nevermind that for now, Midoriya-kun backed away from Bakugo and immediately walked past him in a hurried state.

Bakugo who hadn't moved a single muscle since he was scolded by Aizawa-sensei, had looked down towards the ground with a blank face, but despite that his eyes held something different, he was glaring into the ground as though he hated it with his everything and that he wanted to kill it for some reason just as much as he wanted to kill Midoriya-kun. I could practically hear his pride shatter to pieces as he grinded his teeth.

Is Midoriya scared of Bakugo?' The question circled around in my head. But alas the question would never be answered or heard, if I do not observe Midoriya's interactions with Bakugo or I asked him personally. Both choices seem like a waste of time and that I could do something better than stick my nose in other people's business.

"Is your finger okay?" Uraraka asked a question with an obvious answer to poor Midoriya who was blushing at her, despite the very obvious agonizing pain that he felt on his finger.
"Y-Yes!" Midoriya stuttered in response to girl

'Could he hide his obvious growing crush on Uraraka-chan any better? This is exhausting and annoying just to watch if she's just completely oblivious to the signs that Midoriya is giving her.' I said in my head as I let out an annoyed sigh and followed behind the white and red haired boy who was not too far away from me. I took one last glance at the previously unmoving Bakugo, only to find him staring at Midoriya and clenching both of his hands. And in anger and frustration he grinded his teeth. '… Will he ever learn?' I questioned myself in a bored manner. I stopped walking and turned my head towards Bakugo.

"Hey, Bakugo!" I yelled at him, he quickly turned his head towards my direction.
"What the hell do you what, bitch?!" He snarled at me threateningly, to which I only rolled my eyes at, especially at his new nickname for me.
“Can I ask a question? What’s Midoriya to you?” I asked gently
"None of your damn business! Why don't you use your quirk for something good and actually disappear?" He snarled at me.
"If it's to get away from you then the pleasure's all mine.” I whispers quietly
“Tch, bitch...” He gave me a death glare, small explosions lighting up on his palms.

After that, I quickly jogged away as if nothing had happened. Trying to catch up with the rest of the class. Slowing down my jogging to a casual walk when I finally managed to catch up with the rest of the class, I was in the back of the group with Mina and the gang.
