“Hey James,” Lily sat down next to James on the couch.
“Evans..” James frowned, confused. This was no normal behaviour for her.
“So, I was wondering if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade with me today? Like go on a date.” She smiled at him. James was surprised.
“Oh,” he said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. “Lily... That's very sweet and all, but I already have something planned with...”
“Oh, we could go tomorrow instead.” Lily interrupted quickly. “We could have a lunch date and go to the Three Broomsticks afterwards.”
“I-” James started, but he was once again interrupted.
“Sorry sweetheart, but I don't think that's a good idea.” A voice sounded from the common room entrance. Both Gryffindor’s turned to see Regulus Black approaching them nonchalantly. James smiled and visibly relaxed. Lily turned to him.
“Nobody asked you anything, Black. What are you doing here anyway?” She snarled.
“Oh, wouldn't you like to know?” Regulus leaned on the chair stood across from them, a smirk on his face. He turned to James and his smile immediately softened. “You ready to go, love?”
“Go? Love?” Lily repeated, staring at the two boys in confusion.
“Yeah, that's what I was gonna say... I can't go with you, because, well I have a boyfriend and we're going on a date... Right now.” James said awkwardly. Regulus grabbed James' hands and pulled him to his feet, before pressing a kiss to his lips.
“Let's go,” He smiled at him.
“Sorry,” James smiled apologetically at Lily, before following Regulus out.
