IN THE BEGINNING OF TIME, before anything distinguishable existed, only The Absolute existed, the unity of everything everywhere, in a time where nothing and nowhere really existed. Suddenly, one point in the universe expanded, and following its lead, millions of particles, across the entire universe expanded, and suddenly, all there was, was a Big Bang, and the cosmos created space, physical space for its creations, and time, to which all was subject. It was at the apex of this creation, when Planet Earth was finally solid rock, that two beings, the primal ones came into existence. Two beings that were complete opposites, two sides of the same coin, two beings that represented the very polarity that allowed the existence itself. Raavaand Vaatu.

RAAVA, the spirit of light and peace. The embodiment of harmony, balance, and order. Throughout history, Raava has used human vessels to channel her power, vessels that are born with the ability of Chi-Control. The Chi is the living force that flows through each and every living being, a force that, for those who have control over it, allows them to control, or bend, the elemental forces of existence: fire, air, water, and earth. These vessels have only one purpose for existing, and that’s stopping Vaatu from taking over the world and maintaining the balance of existence. It’s been centuries ever since the last of Raava’s blessed stepped on the Earth. 

VAATU, the spirit of darkness and chaos. The embodiment of discord, imbalance, and destruction. Century after century, Vaatu has battled, and lost, against Raava in the spirit world, but only every many centuries, Vaatu stores enough strength to continue his legacy. Sadly for him, Vaatu is only strong enough to grant one single human with the ability of Chi-Control, and only with his own element: fire. Now, after so many millennia, a man with enough strength to control the element of the Phoenix King was born.

SHAUN KODET was born to muggle parents; an immigrant from Vietnam, and a British man. From a very young age—just like his little brother would do, years later—, he proved an innate affinity and instinctive prowess when it came to the martial arts, be it Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Hung Ga, or Baguazhang. He was born with a mark, a scar that wasn’t his but passed down to him; a red scarring made with ancient fire in one of his past lives. What came as a surprise to him, was that, for each martial art he mastered, a pathway of vivacious energy was opened free at the core of his being, and with it, the most incredible thing: one element at a time, yielded to his will—even if he still lacked the finesse in their control. On top of the craziness of that, he would have never, in a thousand years, guessed that real magic existed, that was, of course, until one Albus Dumbledore visited his parents, changing the trajectory of his life.

REGULUS ARCTURUS BLACK was the second child, the spare, the one born in case something happened to the heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black—which, taken by Sirius’ performance as an heir, had been a most necessary precaution. From a young age, he’s learned all necessary knowledge, from dark magic, to how blood hierarchy worked. If all this knowledge was crystal-clear and rock-solidified in his brain, why did he feel so different about a scarred mudblood boy? But… his family surely missed something if a mudblood could wield such a strange form of magic. Shaun had an unrelenting and ceaseless fire inside, and all Regulus has known throughout his life is darkness and coldness, and maybe, just maybe, the cold did bother him.
