Chapter 18
Lissa stood there surrounded by admirers, Aaron's arm around her waist. She wore a sleek pink cotton sheath in a shade I never could have pulled off. Her blond hair had been pulled up in a bun that she'd used little crystal hairpins on. It almost looked like she wore a crown. Princess Vasilisa. The same feelings as earlier hummed through me, anxiety and excitement. She just couldn't quite enjoy herself tonight. She was wondering where I was. As I walked over to her, I spotted Christian lurking in the darkness. He practically blended into the shadows. I headed over to Lissa now and some of her "friends spotted me and was furiously whispering Lissa turned around and when she spotted me smiled. "I told you that, was the dress you were born to wear." I laughed. "You were right, you look beautiful Liss, Mia tried to make drama for us again and I punched her. It was reflex I could not help myself. That and I knew that I needed to be carted away so Victor could make his move. I was just glad that no one knew about the cutting.
Lissa ran out of the room; I was not sure what Mia said to her, but she was upset. I was dragged off by some guardians, but I managed to yell at Christian to follow her. I was escorted to my room, no one wanted to deal with me tonight. Kirova had her hands full with Mia but there were talk about expulsion or suspension, honestly, I couldn't keep up with all the crap anymore but if I was going to be kicked out, I will take Lissa with me. Find and restore Ms. Karp, I actually did not know why the hell I was wasting time here. Well, I was learning some badass moves from Dimitri, I still needed to steal a stake somewhere, then I would be set.
I reached out to Lissa, making sure things go as planned, it will all come out tonight. Victor will make his move and that would probably free me of any wrongdoing, I hope, it did with Rose. Lissa was calm now, Christian managed to soothe her somehow. And it seems that Lissa actually admitted to herself that Aaron was boring. Then I heard it loud and clear, Christian was hurt, and I snapped back into Lissa's head. She was surrounded, surrounded by men and women who had come out of nowhere, bursting up into the attic of the chapel where she and Christian had gone to talk. Christian leapt up, fire flaring from his fingers. One of the invaders hit him on the head with something hard, making his body slump to the ground.
The attackers approached her, calling her Princess and telling her not to worry, and that they were guardians. She was bound and gagged. "Dimitri, go to Dimitri." a voice in my head said. The spell was activated, I laughed I did not feel the need to go to him. My Occlumency shields were holding fast and strong, but I needed his help to go rescue Lissa. The spell was working I could feel the conflicting emotions in my head. It was a lust charm, and I needed him, but also, I thought I could actually fight it. Should I fight it. Did I really want to? Well, I needed him to help me get Lissa back and the only way I could get to him was by sneaking out.
Getting up to the staff wing of the dorm wasn't hard, since they wanted to keep me inside tonight. I didn't know where his room was, but it didn't really matter because something was pulling me to him, urging me closer and I let it, deciding not to fight it tonight. The instinct or the magic pushed me towards one of the doors and I knocked on it. After a few moments, he opened it, brown eyes widening when he saw me. "Rose?" He was shocked to see me there. "Let me in. It's Lissa." He immediately stepped aside for me. I'd caught him in bed, because the covers were peeled back on one side and only a small tableside lamp shone in the darkness. Plus, he wore only cotton pajama bottoms, his chest was bare, and I had to swallow several times when my eyes took him in. The ends of his dark hair curled near his chin and appeared damp, he probably took a shower not too long ago.
"What's wrong?" I could not stop staring at him, was it the spell or was it just because he was too hot and sexy to look away. I lifted my hand to touch the taunt muscles on his stomach and he stepped back. "Rose! What are you doing?" Dimitri asked alarmed. "I don't know --" I tried to fight, but the spell was strong really strong I needed to fight, but I didn't want to. "Are you drunk?" he asked me holding, his hand out in a warding gesture. I closed my eyes; this was stupid I needed to fight it. Lissa needed me, I had to get to her. The spell was not that much different from the Imperius curse, and I knew I could fight that. I held my hands to my head, squeezing my eyes shut, fighting the lust charm now, I needed to snap out of this. Dimitri only put his hands on my shoulders but that was enough. With that touch, an electric current shot through both of us, and I did not want to fight anymore.
He moved his hands up my arms, sliding slowly along my skin. Holding me in his dark hungry gaze, he pulled me to him, pressing me right up to his body. One of his hands moved up the back of my neck, twining his fingers in my hair and tipping my face up to his. He brought his lips down, barely brushing them against mine. And then I did not fight the charm anymore. The fight left me and there was only Dimitri and him holding me, touching me and kissing me. His lips moved to mine, gentle at first and then hard and hungry. His kiss consumed me and his hands on my arms slid down, down my hips, down to the edge of my dress. He gathered up the fabric in his hands and began pushing it up my legs; I melted into that touch; into his kiss and the way it burned against my mouth.
His hands kept sliding up and up, until he'd pulled the dress over my head and tossed it on the floor. "You got rid of that dress fast." I pointed out between heavy breaths. "I thought you liked it." I added breathlessly. "I do like it," he said. His breathing was as heavy as mine. "I love it." And then he took me to the bed.
