Chapter 8

I had to get up at 17:00 to meet Dimitri at 18:00 we trained for 2 hours before classes started. And I had to add 2 hours at the end. That left only left 2 hours for homework and 7 for sleep. I was fine with that, Shield training was harsher but this body was not used to the strain and I needed to get my body in shape before I started self-studying the other fighting styles on my own.

Jesse and Ralph did start the rumor that I slept with them and they drank from me. That did not bother me at all. I ignored it, Jesse and Ralph too, but they did flinch if I sent a glare toward them, both of them had broken noses and I felt great about that sort of payback, but that did not mean I could not make their lives in private, magically and invisibly. I grinned in thought, that would need some planning and with the little time I had it would take a while.

Lissa and I did not send notes and I did not tell her anything and we did not get in trouble. I did not have time for detentions and luckily Lissa did not get one either. At least I had weekends to catch up on homework and reading but Dimitri wanted to see me four hours in the mornings and four in the evenings so sleeping in was absolutely nowhere on my list of things to do. Mason did come and tell me that he thought I had bad taste. I just glared at him, not going to get into it with him too. Only Dimitri knew the truth. "You know what, get off my back! You ever wonder who broke those bastards' noses or why?" I snapped and strode off but he caught up to me easily. "I'm sorry, I did not mean to upset you. I just don't like hearing people talk shit about you, that's all. There are a lot of nasty jokes going around. They’re calling you a slut." "I don't care what they call me now, old Rose maybe, but me now. Not a chance, I literally don't have time for dating." "I did something for you. I went to the library last night and tried to look up St. Vladimir." I stopped surprised, not remembering if I told him about it. "You did." "Yeah, but there wasn't much on Anna. All the books were kind of generic. Just talked about him healing people, bringing them back from the edge of death." I nodded remembering asking him during one of our training sessions if he knew anything about her. It was a spur-of-the-moment idea I had since I did not show him the book like canon.

"Was there something else?" I asked him interested. I should have had them looking this up, Lissa and Christian too. I did not have time to add this to my ever-growing list. I did manage to catch up on my homework for this year and all of the reading from the last year I missed. Now I just needed to deal with the current homework, training, and getting ready for the field experience. Keep an eye on Lissa and Natalie, and revenge on Jesse and Ralph. Mia was a non-issue, I was not childish enough to ruin her reputation and get between her and Aaron. Lissa did not want him. He was boring. "No, you probably need some primary sources, but we don't have any here." "I wonder if they have some in the church, that was where I got the book on the Moroi saints." He nodded and looked at me. "Thank you for looking that up for me. I appreciate it." He smiled back at me and I went inside.
