“Bye remus thanks for the coffee.” James smiled sipping the latte as remus left. James peered out the window once more but the boy was already gone of course, james sighed and put on his shoes he had to get to work.
Around noon james was scrolling mindlessly on his phone when he get a text from remus “I know its about your break and I cant stand to watch you look helplessly at him everyday…” his message read with a picture of the boy working attached.
‘Fuck’ james thought looking at the picture. He knew remus was right. So James quickly fixed his messy hair before running out across the street to Remus’s coffee shop.
When he walked im remus smirked “what can I get you?” He asked james. “Oh don't look so proud of yourself i haven't done anything yet.” James muttered.remus just stood there arms crossed the same damn smirk on his face. “I’ll have a macchiato.” James said rolling his eyes. “Coming right up.”
After he got his drink James made his way over to The dark haired boys table there he was in all his gaunt beauty “mind if I sit here?” James asked. The boy looked up from his lap top and papers “Alright.” He nodded.
“Im James, james potter.” He said nervously extending his hand. The boy shook his hand “Regulus, you were at Sirius’s and Remus’s wedding right?” Asked the boy quizzically. “Yeah I was.” James replied. Regulus paused “would you like to get coffee sometime?” James asked nervously.
Regulus looked around “Isn’t that what we are doing right now?” He asked raising a eye brow. “Well yeah but um-“ james said feeling more and more embarrassed. Regulus sighed
“tell me what do you do for work?” He asked. James set up straighter “Im a lawyer, top at my firm actually.” James said feeling a bit proud. Regulus smirked pleased with the answer.
“Remus would you mind bringing us two americanas?” Regulus asked looking to the counter where remus was standing. “There now we are getting coffee.” Regulus smiled.
James smiled back unaware just what sort of mess this boy was about to get him into.
