Narcissa Black at just 18 was named Premiere Danseuse of the Hogwarts Opera and named for Swan Lake’s lead role, Odette. She got the thanks of the public for her superb performance. Wich makes her the youngest prima ballerina of the Opera.
The dance world wasn’t surprised. She had been trained from an early age by her mother, Druella Black, herself named Premiere Danseuse at the age of 20, who was considerd one of the most prestigious ballerina of her generation, until after a fatal injury she had to stop dance. So none could doubt that one of her daughters would take up the torch.
The hopes had first been placed on the eldest of the three, Bellatrix, but after a lot of injuries her doctor had forbidden her to resume dancing, unless she wanted to luse the use of her legs, her bones having become much too weak.
Then it was Andromeda’s turn, unfortunately she did not want to become a dancer and did not bear the pressure of this world so when she fell in love with a man, she fled her family and disappeared from the eyes of the general public.

Narcissa and the other young women pretending to the name of Principal Dancer and the main role of Swan Lake, were aligned. They stood straight, showing a confident and determinated face. They looked graceful and delicate, still in there tutus.
Everyone in the amphithetare had their eyes on them. One particular looks was on the blonde girl. The look her mother gave her, who expected so much from her, who had placed all her hopes in her after the failure of her sisters.
Narcissa prayed, she prayed that the name that would come out of the lips of the vice director and professor of the opera, Minerva McGonagall, would be hers. She prayed for her to be slected by the director, Dumbledore and McGonagall.
It couldn’t be anyone else.
“It must be you, I have put all my efforts into you, so it will be you and it will not be one of those incapable !” Her mother had told her the night before.
She did not want to have to wait another year or several before receiving this title it had to be now. She managed to be “the subject” at the age of sixteen, several days after her older sister Andromeda fled. She also wanted to be Odette more than anything.
There was a horde of journalists taking pictures while McGonagall made her speech in which she congratulated the dancers, the teachers, musicians as well as all the artists in the shadows. Narcissa was thinking of her best friend who was herself a shadow artist, being one of the stylist of the opera.
“Hurry up...” She thought of her eldest. She felt like she was drowning. Shefelt her hearts pounding in her chest. She couldn’t breathe as the stress was so strong. If her teacher did not hurry she had the impression that she would collapse on the ground.
And the finally.
“ I think it is finally time for me to answer the question you are all asking. Well, the six ladies here have worked very hard this year to be here and get the role of their dreams I guess. One in particular is to stand out. She managed to move, to touch and transport us through the story. She not only embodied Odette perfectly, she understood the character.” Professor Minerva paused in her diatribe, introducing a certain apprehension into the room.
The young dancer took a deep breath, planting her broken nails due to stress and her questionable diet in her palms. Another few seconds and the ordeal would be over. It would be either the best day of her life or the worst.
“I have the honour of naming Narcissa Black as the new principal dancer of the opera and our new Odette ! Congratulations !”
Among the crowd of journalists was Augusta Longbottom and her intern Alice Fortescue.
Augusta was known in the sports world for her incredible shots of basketball player Fleamont Potter during a World Cup match. Wanting something new, she had for some time begun to work for a lyrical journal finding this world so wonderful. So no one was shocked to see her here.
She was accompanied by Alice her intern and also the best friend of her son since they were kids. She almost considered her as her own daughter. So when Alice came to ask her if she could come and do an internship with her. Augusta had automatically accepted before even asking her boss.
Alice had somehow always known that she wanted to take pictures. The desire to become a photo journalist only came later.
It had been almost a month since Alice started her internship with her best friend’s mother, she was so happy to be able to do this internship alongside Augusta.
She had taken a lot of pictures of the ballerinas and now she was taking notes of the speech given by Minerva McGonagall, who was the Danseuse Etoile of the Opera Garnier. She had also trained the best ballerinas of the Opera and and played some of the ballet’s greatest roles.
Alice was dying to know wich one of them would in turn be the poster head of swan lake. She wanted to yell at Minerva to go straight to what everyone was looking forward to. She was just as stressed as the ballerinas on stage. She held her pencil so hard it could break.
She would never have thought that she would one day fall in love with this universe and that she would find a sort of fascination.
During the last weeks she had seen the ballet of each of the girls on stage. for the newspaper for wich she was doing an internship, and had been amazed all along.
Alice was amazed by the group of strong and ambitious women posing in front of everyone, waiting for their sentence. She admired them.
Althrought one of them caught her attention more than the others. Narcissa Black. She had captivated her, she had embodied Odette with such a perfection, she had transmitted Odette’s emotions as she felt them herself. Alice was fascinated by her.
Finally, Mrs McGonagall was going to put an end to the question that everyone was asking.
“ I think it is finally time for me to answer the question you are all asking. Well, the six ladies here have worked very hard this year to be here and get the role of their dreams I guess. One in particular is to stand out. She managed to move, to touch and transport us through the story. She not only embodied Odette perfectly, she understood the character.” Alice hurried to put her notebook and pencil in her purse to take the picture. She wanted to see it on the front page of the magazine for wich Augusta worked.
“I have the honour of naming Narcissa Black as the new principal dancer of the opera and our new Odette ! Congratulations !”
Narcissa Black stepped forward with her usual grace on the front of the stage and Minerva McGonagall embraced her.
It was the perfect moment. Alice knew it, she didn’t wait another second.
