How to not lose my mind when I am with you

Remus Lupin

When Remus woke up from his 1 - hour power nap, he felt a heavy weight on the bed next to him. He already knew who it was so he turned around to face the lady sitting on his bed smiling at him brightly.

He sighs and sits upright with a little frown between his eyebrows. “Lily…” he says with a raspy voice since he just woke up.

“Remus Lupin, I found the perfect activity for our summer!” She almost screams at him in delight.

Remus winced at the loud sound she let out, “Activity? What are you talking about?”. “Well… I found this flier on an online website and it said and I quote “Don’t have anything to do this summer? need a little extra money? Come to the Hogwarts Summer Camp and be a Supervisor!” And since we are both Eighteen now we could both be Supervisors in this Summer Camp, isn’t this fun!”

Remus looked at her in shock “What?! A summer camp?! Lily, are you out of your mind” Lily just laughed loudly “Yeah! And I also signed us up already so there is no going back, Rem!”

Remus sat there looking at her as if she was crazy “Have you lost your mind….when is it starting?” He asked carefully. “Hm in like 2 days, I would start packing if I was you!” She says getting up from the bed and running away as quickly as she came. “That fucking Witch…” Remus mutters.

He forgot so many things while packing he was running around the house 10 minutes before leaving still packing the most important things, like charger, toothbrush, and even his bunny that he got from his Grandma when he was born (yes he still sleeps with a plushy, don’t judge him).

When he finally got in the car Lily was driving he was breathing hard and already drinking the water he packed for the 1-hour trip to the Camping site.

“Why do we even have to get there today? Aren’t the Campers coming only tomorrow?” He asked Lily who was focused on the road. “Well, we need to find our way around before the little kids come and we need to get to know the other staff, and we also need to make our rooms comfortable, or would you like to sleep in a colorless room that reeks of old socks and dying flies?” She said.

“But I don't even have decorations with me” He argued “Well, I knew that already so I bought you some fun things!” She said with a happy smile.

Remus looked at her bewildered and then started to chuckle “Well alright…but let it at least be green stuff and nothing explosive” he muttered to himself.

When Remus climbed out of the tiny car that Lily drove to the Camping site he had to stretch his leg for a minute before he could walk around, of course, he couldn’t just “walk around” because he had a cane he used to support him if his knee was acting up again.

He found it a little embarrassing to be bound to use a cane when he walked but since Lily always defended him when someone was giving him a strange look he overcame the embarrassment slowly as the days passed by.

He already saw a few other cars from where he was standing, a Range Rover, an Audi (it looked like something expensive) a little car just like lilys (Lily's car was a light green the other one a dark red though)the other one an older car that looked about 10 years old that probably someone got from their parents, and two other cars he didn’t take a good look at.

Remus dragged his suitcase through the damp grass to the Camp entrance, Lily not much behind him. He entered and saw about 7 people already standing around.

two boys, one with brown hair and skin and the other pale and with black wavy hair as long as his jawline. In another corner stand two girls, one with also brown curly hair and brown skin and the other with blond/brown hair (he guessed she had a wolf cut).

And in the front there stood three other people, a girl with black curly hair and darker skin than the others, a boy with blonde hair, and another man with white hair who looked a little older than the others but Remus suspected it was because of the hair. He waited for Lily to show up next to him and also take in the groups of people. The two boys who stood separately immediately came over.

Sirius Black

Sirius only noticed the two newcomers when James suddenly started dragging him over to them, he didn’t even know how James could lift both his and Sirius’ Suitcase.

“Heya it’s nice to meet you two! I am James and this is Sirius!” James introduced them both, clapping Sirius on the two times (it hurt a little, to be honest, but he would never admit to it).

Sirius smiled at them both to make a good first impression, only then did he look at the two people standing before him. The tall boy with sandy blonde hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin looked cute if he was honest with himself, and the girl next to him who was almost as tall as himself but still a little too short had fiery Orange hair, deep green eyes and what was it called? Ah yes, freckles.

freckles are the most annoying word Sirius has ever said in his head. What's up with that? “It’s nice to meet you, as you probably just heard, my name is Sirius Black, like the star!” He said with a flashy smile and he continued to do so till he heard a little chuckle escape the tall boy.

he quickly spun his head to him with a crooked eyebrow and the boy quickly shut up “What is up with you?” Sirius asked the strange boy. “Uhm well…it was just that we both have a weird name…” the still-unnamed boy said quietly. Sirius hummed “And what would your unusual name be?” Sirius asked.

The boy smiled “I am Remus, Remus Lupin. And the girl next to me is Lily Evans” he gestured to the ginger girl next to him.

Sirius looked her up and down and smiled at her again.

After a few awkward seconds of James talking about anything he can think of they hear a little shout from someone in the front telling them to gather. So they quickly drag their suitcases to the front where a few older-looking people are standing.

“I am Minerva McGonagall the Camp leader of The Hogwarts Summer Camp, right next to me is the co-leader and also The nurse Poppy Pomfrey, so if you feel any need for medical attention you can always go to her.

“Right next to her is the assistant nurse, who will be on field trips with you and the Campers Pandora Rosier, we also have 3 older Camp Supervisors, Alastor Moody and Frank, and Alice Longbottom”

She says all their names while pointing at each person

“You will be given Rooms where you bunk together, in every room are 3 people but for now please go look around and talk with some of your colleagues, in about 30 minutes your rooms should be fine to be moved into!”

Minerva then quickly went into a house together with Poppy and Pandora.

Marlene Mckinnon

Mary has always been one to easily socialize, not Marlene though, many say she has a good character and is nice and pretty but just not someone to talk to.

Marlene sees this differently though, because the only people that have ever said that were the ones Marlene didn’t like, so she let it slide. Everyone was standing in a circle now and just stared at the others, she found it pretty awkward so she just started introducing herself.

“uhm…hi, I’m I ’mlene McKinnon,” she said with a slight smile. That seemed to lose the tension building between everyone because people slowly started to introduce themself as well at first it was Mary, then a boy named James and his friend Sirius, then Remus and Lily, Grant, someone named Xenophilius but he wants us to just call him Xeno and at last Dorcas.

A very pretty girl…fuck why is Marlene so Lesbian, she probably has a crush on all the girls she knows so far but Dorcas is on another level though, she is so pretty and…mesmerizing…FUCK.

The 30 Minutes went over quickly and then the girl Pandora came out of the Cabin again where she went in together with Minerva and Poppy, she stood before them and said the Cabin numbers and the people who would sleep in them.

“Cabin Number 1 is gonna be a boy's Cabin for Remus, James, and Sirius. Number 2 is for me, Marlene, and Dorcas. Number 3 is Lily, Mary, and Alice, and the last Cabin is gonna be a 4-person Room for Grant, Xenophilius, Alastor, and Frank” she said with a happy smile across her face, she was also pretty…Marlene is gonna have a big problem.

“Oh and don’t forget to Name your Cabins, the Campers will also name their Cabins. And at the end of the Summer Camp, a winner will be Named!”

Pandora said before quickly Running to Marlene and Dorcas.

“We should probably go to our Cabin now…” Marlene said to Dorcas and she nodded, they quickly followed Pandora to their Cabin, and when Marlene looked back one last time everyone made their way together to their Cabins as well.

The Cabin wasn’t bad but not great either, 3 beds, a bathroom (she didn’t expect that to be honest), and also a kitchen. Pandora said that everyone will be eating together in the Eating hall though so there isn’t a big need to use the kitchen anyway.

Marlene quickly puts her clothes away and puts on bed sheets. Dorcas and Pandora were also getting done pretty quickly so the three of them went out and looked around the Camp together. There is indeed a big eating hall and in the big kitchen where a mousy boy is already cooking.

She doesn’t remember quite but she thinks his name was Peter Pettigrew or Pettigrew she doesn’t know anymore. Then they went to a fireplace with seats around it and looked at the little playground.

The other people also slowly came back out from their Cabins and gathered in the eating hall. Food is looking good and everyone already started eating until the boy named Remus enters the Hall together with Lily.

Everyone stopped eating as they heard a thump every time Remus took a step and everyone's eyes fell onto his cane, he didn’t seem to notice though but Lily currently did because she suddenly had a murderous look on her face and Marlene quickly looked back at her food and continued to eat and it seemed everyone else too.

They sat down at the Table and ate slowly. Marlene tried to talk to the other people but they were all already in their conversations so she didn’t want to interrupt until Remis surprisingly started Talking to her about books.

she didn’t say no though, not many people actually like horror books as much as she does, and now Remus too.

And so the Night went on and slowly came to a close when everyone went back to their Cabins to try and get some sleep. To be ready for the next day when the Campers would arrive.
