Chapter 38

Pansy Parkinson lounged in the Slytherin common room, enjoying a got relaxing time. Her hopes for a quiet morning were dashed when Daphne Greengrass approached with a determined expression.

“Pansy, I need to talk to you,” Daphne said, sitting down without waiting for a response.

Pansy sighed inwardly but forced a smile. “Of course, Daphne. What’s on your mind?”

“It’s about Astoria. I saw her coming out of Hermione’s room this morning, wearing the same robes as last night. Do you know anything about their... relationship?”

Pansy hesitated, trying to avoid the mess. “Daphne, I really try to stay out of other people’s business. But I’ve noticed they’ve been spending a lot of time together.”

Daphne’s eyes narrowed. “That’s not helpful, Pansy. I need to know if Hermione is manipulating Astoria. My sister looks up to her, and I’m worried.”

Pansy took a deep breath. “Hermione is... complicated. She and Draco are involved, and Astoria spends time with both of them.”

Daphne’s eyes widened. “Draco? What’s he got to do with this?”

Pansy sighed. “It’s a complex dynamic, Daphne. Do you know the rumors about Hermione and Draco?”

Daphne’s face hardened. “I’ve heard whispers. What are you saying?”

“Draco and Hermione are deeply involved, and now Astoria is part of that.”

Daphne’s hands clenched into fists. “How could she be so foolish?”

Pansy placed a calming hand on Daphne’s arm. Daphne took a deep breath, her resolve hardening. “I need to talk to her. Thanks for telling me, Pansy.”

Pansy nodded, relieved. “Anytime, Daphne.”

As Daphne left, Pansy hoped the drama would resolve soon, before it dragged them all into a deeper mess.
