Chapter 1
James always loved the idea of bonding. Having a mate which is sealed to you in every way possible. He saw it with his parents how adoringly his dad looked at his mom with a love that seemed to grow even more everyday. Since he understood the love his parents held for eachother he knew he wanted it too. He wanted to mate with someone, wanted a family. James was a helpless romantic that much was clear. He spoke to everyone about it especially after going to Hogwarts and seeing Lily Evans for the first time. In his head he already had it all planned out... he was going to present at the average age of 16 and Lily would finally realise that she is just as madly in love with him as he is with her. He didn't really care if he presented Alpha or Omega ,even tho all his friends expected him to be an Alpha, he just wanted to present. The first of their friends to present was Remus and no one was surprised to find out he presented Alpha. The next shortly after Remus was Sirius though this one came with a bit of a surprise. Sirius was a Omega lucky for him he and Remus were already together and bonded right on the spot. Otherwise his shitty Parents would've probably pulled him out of school and married him of to some rich pureblood Alpha. Of course they were furious when they found out but the bond was sealed and there was nothing they could do about it anymore. Sirius was disinherited and burned off the family tapistry which made his younger brother Regulus the new heir. But Sirius couldn't care less, he never gave a shit about all of this pureblood shit anyway so... that was that. When their sixth year rolled around everyone in their little group had presented, save for Peter who was happy with his role as a Beta and for James. Even the girls presented making Marlene and Mary Omegas and Lily an Alpha. After some time Lily and Mary got together and James was happy for them... which surprised even himself. Over the years of being rejected from Lily he slowly had lost the feelings he was so sure of at 11 years old and was now beginning to question if they ever were real at all. So overall James was content with the way things turned out. He didn't present... but James was fine. It would happen eventually he kept telling himself. He turned seventeen and he hadn't presented yet... but he was fine! James was fine. He watched his friends being in love like he had watched his parents loving each other. And ones again he was on the outlines just watching... sure he was happy for all of them he truly was. But deep down... he envied them. They knew it too and tried their best to cheer him up. But he kept feeling like some part of him was missing, a part that he always expected to be there, and it wasn't. So he kept waiting...
