Chapter 2
"What do you mean?" Harry asked Voldemort.
"I mean, I can see through your eyes, your Sister's eyes or both at the same time," Voldemort angrily hissed and Harry and I winced in pain as our scars hurt.
"So, basically, our Horcruxes merged but they're still in both of us so you can access mine or Harry's or both simultaneously?" I asked.
"Yes," Voldemort responded. "However, it seems that I don't have to access either and I can just... Exist... I can essentially just 'sleep' instead of being aware through either of your eyes... Even then, I don't have to actually see anything and I can just listen to your thoughts."
"So, you can close your eyes and listen through me, Harry or us both, open your eyes and see through me, Harry or us both or go to sleep and not see or hear anything from either of us?"
"Yes. You two are annoying and I hate this. I despise you both."
"Why? We only ever fought you as you fought us first," Harry thought.
"Not true! I offered you a chance and you refused to take it! As I said then, there is no good and evil. There is only power and those too weak to seek it!"
"You attacked us as babies and murdered our parents," I thought. "You did fight us first. We'd only recently found out the truth about our parents and this was the first time we'd come face-to-face with our parents' murderer. Did you really think we'd side with you then? We were eleven and emotional. It never would've happened. Besides, Dumbledore was very clearly testing us then. A group of four first-year students could get past when it was supposed to keep you out? That's so clearly a test."
"That does make sense... I seem to be thinking a lot more clearly now that I can communicate with you than any point after the night I killed your parents... I assume that's because my two Horcruxes have linked. I was only 1/256th after that night. The Horcrux in you, Cassiopeia, is 1/128th and the one in Harry is 1/256th. Together, I am now 3/256ths. If we can perform the ritual to take the Horcrux out of my Diary before destroying it for Dumbledore to know of as, given I can feel the Horcruxes you destroyed and you're in the bodies of children versions of yourself, I'm assuming we've gone back in time, then I can absorb that half of myself and become a larger version of myself. Then, in the ritual to come back, we can ensure I use a Horcrux by getting rid of my Father's bones beforehand. If I had to use a Horcrux, I'd use Nagini. Since she's a living Horcrux, she wouldn't be harmed by the ritual."
"You're assuming we'd be willing to help you," I thought, amused.
"Of course you'll be willing to aid me. I hadn't known you were my Horcruxes. If I had, I'd never have targeted you in the first place and I would've recruited you or aimed for your capture and imprisonment but I still would've ensured you weren't harmed. If you had joined me, I would've made you my Heirs. I take good care of what is mine," Voldemort hissed.
"Your Heirs?" Harry asked. "And what, exactly, would the benefits of being your Heirs be against what a usual Death Eater is entitled to?"
"For one, I wouldn't torture you for failing me if and when you ever did. Anyone you cared for would be treated above others and kept unharmed unless they were a Death Eater in which I'd still have to punish their failures but I'd go a lot easier on them than I would otherwise. You'd get the titles of Dark Prince and Dark Princess. Anyone you'd be seeing would be treated better than others too. You'd be entitled to anything and everything you desired as long as it didn't disrupt my plans and, even then, I'd try to give you what you want. I always wanted an Heir... A child. A family... It was the one thing I wanted that I never got. Bellatrix willingly, despite us both being gay, carried my Heir during the Second War but we lost Delphini when she was a few weeks old. She was a very sickly child. That's why she was so harsh on your Mudblood friend when you were caught. It was only a month after she lost her child and Bella was devastated so she threw herself into the War to avoid thinking about it."
"I never thought I'd feel sorry for Sirius' murderer," Harry thought.
"She doesn't have to be Sirius' murderer, Har. If we really have gone back in time, we can stop that from happening. Of course, to ensure things end the way we want them to, we should probably try to stick to the past timeline as much as possible so we can't get Sirius legally pardoned until after Voldemort's return is made public, but still! We can save him!" Harry looked really happy at the idea of saving Sirius.
"As much as I want to disagree and just free Sirius now, you're right. But, in that case, we should probably try to not plan too far ahead. Who knows, maybe this time you can stop that mutt from stealing your girl," Harry thought with a sneer on his face. Harry despised Remus after he'd almost killed me in his Werewolf form in our third year. Buckbeak had saved me from Remus after I'd pushed Hermione out of his way. I'd gotten scratched but it had, luckily, only damaged my clothes and not turned me into a Werewolf. Remus had never looked at me without that look of regret and pity (after announcing his relationship with Dora) ever again.
"There is one thing I'd like to change, though. I want us to get our letters and send a response to Professor McGonagall so Hagrid doesn't take us to Diagon Alley. McGonagall is much less likely to have us hang around all those adults who bothered us last time and she's much more likely to notice the signs of abuse and take it up with Dumbledore. As she's so busy, we could probably convince her to leave us in The Leaky Cauldron to get the Knight Bus back to the Dursleys and just stay there instead. We stayed there in our third year," I thought.
"You should probably both get Heritage Tests done at Gringotts too. I can feel something blocking part of your Magic," Voldemort hissed. "I wouldn't put it past Dumbledore to have Blocked part of you when leaving you with the Dursleys."
"Okay, so what--" I was cut off as there was a slam on our cupboard door.
"Up! Get up!" Aunt Petunia commanded before she unlocked the door. "Now!" She walked away into the kitchen. Harry and I put our glasses on as Dudley started to run down the stairs before running up a few and jumping up and down.
"Wake up, Cousins! We're going to the zoo!" He laughed before running down the stairs. Harry went to get out of our cupboard but I stopped him. Dudley ran into the kitchen.
"It's Dudley's 11th birthday again, Harry."
"Oh, great. We're gonna get locked in here because of that Snake again."
"We don't have to."
"But the Snake, Cassie! We have to help it. It was so nice to us."
"Fine." As expected, the day went exactly as it had the last time only with a few comments on our Parseltongue from Voldemort. He wasn't happy when we were locked in our cupboard. "It's fine. We're used to it."
"But you shouldn't be used to such horrible treatment from those filthy Muggles! I couldn't stand you but that was before I realised you were manipulated too and have my Horcruxes inside you. With my Horcruxes inside you, you are mine. I won't tolerate anyone treating what is mine like this!" Harry and I groaned as we grabbed our foreheads, our scars hurting with his rage.
"Please stop. It hurts," Harry whimpered and the pain immediately left.
"It hurts when I get mad? I never knew that... Well, if you want, you can be my Heirs now... If you want... You're my Horcruxes, a part of me, mine," he possessively thought.
"Oh, er, Cassie? What do you think?"
"If you want, Harry, then sure."
"Okay, yeah. We, er... We can totally at least try it out. Why not?" Harry thought. I immediately felt a warmth spread through me.
"Harry, if we're going through everything again, we are already way ahead of everyone in our year, even Hermione!" Harry grinned at me.
"And we don't have to be Gryffindors. We probably should be Gryffindors to stick to the timeline and all but I really don't want to share a dorm with Ron, Seamus and Dean again."
"I wouldn't mind sharing with Hermione but I really don't want to share with Parvarti and Lavender. Our sixth year was all just hearing about how hot Ron is. Ew." Harry chuckled and Voldemort did in my head too.
"Maybe you shouldn't call me Voldemort anymore now you're my Heirs. The Dark Lord is for my followers so not that either. Definitely not Tom... All three of us are very new to our new dynamic even if we have this connection and new lives so not Dad yet."
"Yet?" Harry asked with both apprehension and excitement. We were always told we looked like our Parents but we never knew them and felt a lot of pressure to live up to their legacy and our titles of 'The Twins Who Lived'. Now we have someone who wants to be there for us and to be our Parent willingly. We've never had anyone other than Sirius choose to be our family before and he only chose to be our Godfather because of his relationship with our Father. The idea is both exciting and scary. It's like getting adopted by someone who is really nice to you but has a horrible reputation. Like if Lex Luthor decided he wanted you as his child after trying to kill Superman but he's really nice to you. It's weird and nice at the same time.
"How about just 'V' for now? That way after linking you to the you of this world, we can owl and no one will know who we're owling like stupid Umbitch. God, I hate her so much," I thought.
"Okay, 'V' it is. For now. But it's Gods," V thought.
"What?" Harry asked.
"It's 'Gods' in the Wizarding World. I can teach you the proper ways of society. In fact, I will teach you either way as you are my Heirs."
"Okay," Harry and I thought in unison.
...
"Wait, we should leave a note," I said and Harry looked at me weirdly.
"Why?" Harry asked.
"One moment." I quickly grabbed some paper and a pen and wrote the note. I left it sticking out of the grate on the cupboard door as V and Harry laughed.
"Really, Cassie? 'Gone to Hogwarts. See you next summer?' Oh, I wish I could see the look on Vernon and Petunia's faces when they read that."
"Well, let's just hope we manage to get away from McGonagall. Leaving that note then coming back after the Dursleys read it?" I winced and Harry's grin quickly faded. I felt a sharp pain in my scar from V's anger and from the way Harry hissed, I knew he felt it too.
"At least we managed to keep our letters from the Dursleys and sent that response to McGonagall." I heard someone knock on the door and I exchanged a look with Harry.
"Ready, Bro?"
"Yeah. You?"
"Yeah. Life number two begins now," I said before taking a deep breath as I reached for the doorknob. I breathed out and opened the door.
