Brothers bounding!
Regulus hated to admit that this cousin of his was right. “Well, have a nice chat, I'm going to sleep.” With that Draco floated up as he layed in sleeping position.
“What do you want to talk about?” Regulus asked while gritting his teeth, Sirius beamed at him. Sirius was happy to get a chance to talk with his brother.
“Reggie, when I came back from Hogwarts you ignored me like i wasn’t there and mother's constant screaming didn’t help. I tried to talk to you but you won’t talk to me and you even stopped sitting beside me.” Sirius said with sadness.
“It was because you didn’t send me a letter nor answer the letter I sent to you!!!” Regulus angrily exclaimed. “And because mother wouldn’t let me sit beside you saying i will be influenced by you!”
“What? No, I sent you a letter, it was you who didn’t answer my letter!” Sirius also exclaimed. “So you ignored me because of that??”
“I didn’t ignore you because of such a thing!! It was because you wouldn’t stop talking James that, James this!!! I wanted to talk to you but you keep talking about James Potter!!” Regulus became frustrated. Sirius stunned for a moment before his face lightened. “You were jealous of James?”
“Of course, I was!!! After a whole year not one letter your brother came home started to talk about another person!! Think about what if I leave without any letter and come back telling you how amazing Remus Lupin was!!” Sirius seriously thinked about it before coming up with a “Brother stealer!!”
Regulus hmph-ed loudly, making Sirius laugh in delight his brother was actually afraid of losing him!!! “Right, it was this brother’s fault for not making things clear!”
“But did you really not receive any letter?” Sirius asked in confusion as to why his letters weren't delivered. Regulus was also confused when he heard Draco’s voice. “Walburga.”
“Mom!!” Regulus gasped out as he realized why he hadn’t gotten any letter from Sirius. Sirius looked at Regulus in question. “It was mom who prevented us from getting our letters!”
Sirius looked dumbfounded then he gritted his teeth. “That woman!! Of course it was her!”
The two brother’s didn’t talk about the past anymore because it was clear that their mothe- Walburga was the one who made their relationship bad!
“Regulus, you will always be my brother as for James just think as he is my platonic soulmate.” Sirius said seriously, he didn’t want another misunderstanding because Regulus will always be his little star and brother. As for James he was his platonic soulmate. Regulus nodded his head as he understood what Sirius meant, having Barty and Evan it was understable.
“Oke, Siri!” Regulus softly said while turning his head towards the wall not facing Sirius but shyly took a look at Sirius. Sirius was hit by an arrow when his little star called him by nickname and if his health was lowered by half, then Regulus' shy action directly killed him. Regulus only made such an action when he was extremely shy but still wanted to take a look and that also means he was forgiven.
“Reggie!!” Sirius leaped towards Regulus to hug him tightly, he hugged his star he hadn’t hugged for a long time. He was so happy to reconcile with his brother.
“Siri, you have to leave this place now. If you want to escape this is your chance now or never!” Regulus suddenly said, making Sirius hug him more tightly. “What about you?”
“I will be fine, Siri. There is something I must do and until I inherit the title as lord. I must stay here!” Regulus seriously said, trying to persuade him to leave. Sirius unhappily snorted.
“Then I also can endure until then too.”
“No Siri, you can’t! And you won’t!” Regulus sounded very sure, making Sirius wonder why his star was so sure. “Why?”
“Because if you stay here and become the perfect heir then we will be forced to marry!!” Regulus fearfully whispered as if he were to say it out loud that it will come true, Regulus tightened his grip on Sirius' clothes as Sirius also held Regulus tightly. It was clear he was so stunned that he didn’t know what to say but agreed with his brother. “Right! That can also happen.”
Draco who was silently listening stunned before he broke into a loud laughter. Making Regulus feel embarrassed that his face was a blushing mess, Sirius misunderstood it as Regulus feeling terrified and couldn’t breath normally. “Shh, Reggie, we won’t let them do that.”
At that Draco laughed more out loud that he started to cough up. Regulus wanted to throw a hex at his so-called cousin. After everyone calmed down whatever they were feeling, They left for Sirius' room to get his things. Two brothers held their hands tightly as they silently walked toward the fireplace in the living hall.
Their heart was beating fast as they came near the living hall, even though Regulus knew that Draco had casted silencing charm, he was still nervous.
They didn’t talk so as to not alarm anyone in the place, the two brothers hugged each other for the last time. Knowing that they will only see each other at Hogwarts, they were reluctant to separate after reconciling but they had to as not to marry each other.
They finally separated from each other, Sirius gave a last kiss on his brother’s forehead before walking into the fireplace, he grabbed a handful floo powder. Sirius glanced at his brother one last time and received an encouraging smile.
“Potter manor” he whispered as used the floo powder, not a second after he whispered, he appeared in Potter manors fireplace. Startling the three members of Potter family, who were watching a movie together.
“Sirius!” James called out as soon as he saw who was standing in the fireplace. James stood up from his seat and runned towards Sirius, he helped Sirius out from the fireplace. Only then did he see the suitcase he was holding.
His parents also had come near them, three of them could see Sirius was unharmed but they saw tears rushing out as Sirius stood there with a blank face. Sirius didn’t know he was crying but he knew he was feeling empty because his star was alone in that hellish place. And he finally realized he was deceived by his brother to leave that place, in the moment of his brain having error from learning something strange his brother had manipulated him to leave for his freedom. Sirius black face changed into mocking as he barked out sobs and laughed while calling his star's name. “Oh Reggie- hic!”
That shocked the Potters because Sirius hadn’t called his younger brother by his nickname for a long time now. The Potter parents looked at each other, while James put his hand on Sirius' back as he guided him towards the sofa, once he had Sirius sat down.
Fleamont Potter asked. “What is wrong Sirius?”
Sirius looked up to Fleamont, he whipped away the tears he had unknowingly let out. “Reggie, he tricked me to leave that place!”
The three Potters looked at each other not knowing what he meant by.
“What do you mean by that?” James finally asked, as he stared at his friend. “Reggie, he wanted me to leave that hellish place.”
Sirius took a deep breath before explaining what happened, James lips tightened into tiny line as he remembered the baby Black’s action at Hogwarts and everything made sense why he always got glared at by baby Black that made him helpless but the part where baby Black wanted Sirius to hate him so that Sirius would leave that hellish place made him uncomfortable because it come with cost and sacrifices.
James thought they were simple but two adults were impressed and sad for the little boy. How long had he been planning such a thing that almost successed if Sirius hadn’t been awake to hear it. It wasn't an easy thing to let their favorite and nearest person let them hate them. It takes lots of courage to do such a thing even as going so far to hold themselve back from helping.
To let go of their own freedom for another person is the rarest thing in a pureblood family. If the boy wanted then he could have Sirius stay there by helping him and caring for him but he didn’t just so Sirius would leave without looking back. With no attachment to that place but only hate and anger towards it. That must’ve been the boy’s plan but because of Sirius unexpected injury, that boy must have been panicked that he forgot to check whether Sirius was awake or asleep. In worry the boy forgot all cautious and had talked out loud to the person he was with, otherwise the boy would have checked whether Sirius was unconscious or not and come back later if Sirius was asleep but because of another person's existence in the room distracted him that made him forget and talk out loud.
So the adults shared their thoughts to let the boys that are almost reaching adulthood. Sirius and James hadn’t thought about such a thing at all. Hearing adults' opinions made them see more clearly during their time in Hogwarts and Sirius time at home for holiday.
“No wonder I felt better the next day, it was because of Reggie. Otherwise how could I feel healed when the only thing I do is just sleep.” Sirius muttered loud enough for the other three to hear. The Potter trio didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at Sirius brother’s action. It was planned so well that even the adults failed to notice it. Euphemia patted Sirius's shoulder before saying with a proud tone. “Your brother is Slytherin through through Slytherins, to be able to come up with a plan that even adults didn’t notice. No wonder you were manipulated by your brother so easily”
Sirius didn’t know whether to be offended or happy, he settled on being speechless. James asked in curiosity. “What did baby Black say to make you come here?”
Sirius let out an amused bark, he threw his head backwards and laughed at his little brother's reaction, he had thought Reggie was just horrified that he could breath but in truth he was just so embarrassed that he blushed too hard.
Alright, three of them were used to the swift mood change of Sirius for a long time, so they aren’t surprised to see him laugh now after having been sad just a moment ago. Sirius took out his wand pointed at his forehead as he took out a memory and uttered a spell for the memory to be seen without needing official things from ministry.
The four of them looked at the memory that had become a big circle as it displayed Regulus' shy action that made them coo in how cute the boy was. James was really surprised to see the usually indifferent younger boy could make such a face. The Potter couple looked at the cute shy boy that made the old couple lament why they don’t have such a cute son. Then they nodded in approval as they watched Sirius hugging Regulus, it was the right thing to do as he was such a cutie, right there they heard Regulus and Sirius dialogue of one wanting another leave for his freedom whilst staying back until the time comes.
The adults noticed at the younger boy’s slip up, what was the thing the boy needed to do. The adult didn’t doubt the younger boy could plan a perfect way to leave that house but why was he staying there? Even Sirius noticed the slip up he hadn’t noticed before. Before they could think furthermore they were interrupted by Regulus somehow awkward, solemn holding back his laughter and scowl as he exclaimed. “Because if you stay here and become the perfect heir then we will be forced to marry!!”
Those words echoed as it made the Potter family feel confused, while Sirius amused that he laughed so hard that he clutched his stomach as he rolled on the floor. After what seemed like forever Sirius stopped laughing as explained. “Reggie, meant that even if we are brothers, we are somehow considered as cousins too and you know how the purebloods married their cousins.”
That made clueless trio to knowledge trio, then their faces turned into disgust and before they could even open their mouths they heard Sirius awkward, speechless and astonished voice. They looked back to the memory they saw astonished Sirius and embarrassed blushing mess Regulus.
“I really thought he was so horrified that he forgot to breathe. But he was just embarrassed to say all that.” Sirius commented, while the other trio nodded in understanding as they would also feel embarrassed to say such a thing. Just then they noticed Regulus eyes turning sharp towards where Sirius previously sat, they could read Regulus eyes that were saying he really wants to throw a pillow towards that direction.
“Huh?” Sirius was confused for a second before he facepalmed. “I forgot there was someone together with Regulus when I arrived outside of Regulus' door.”
While saying that he waved away the memory and started to play the record.
“How are we going to convince the Slytherins to work with me?”
“What I'm going to learn from the special lesson you are talking about?” The listeners looked at each other in confusion.
“Why can’t we believe in Dumbledore? Isn’t he a war lord and fair person?” He is a great person, the four people said in their mind.
[He is, but it's just that his problem is that we are slytherin]= Can’t hear because only Regulus can hear as Draco said.
“Right! I kept forgetting Dumbledore doesn’t like Slytherins. Then he won’t be much help.” What! The Gryffindor boys were offended while the adults came to realize the boy was speaking truth.
[We don’t need help from him at all! He isn’t in our plan until he deems otherwise.]
“Let’s say we fished Lucius to our side before the dark lord does, then what?” Fishing Lucius, it sounded funny but the rest of the sentences made others stiffened up. They frowned at what Regulus was up to.
