Fanfic review
So you know when you read something and it’s good but it could have done things better? Well I’m gonna do that with the fanfic ‘Delicious or Delicious’ on wattpad
Now things I did like:
1) I really liked the main character and how her personality resembles the chaotic side of the Nakiri family. She was like a mix of Yumeko Jabami and Bakugou
2)the fact that she wasn’t outright confirmed that she was a Nakiri. The only people who do suspect it are her, Senzaemon (the grandfather) and Azami (but since his a manipulative bastard who was not father of the year we cannot trust what he says). It also puts them in a interesting relationship with Erina and Alice as they would be half siblings/cousin or like long lost family
3)I loved the interesting take on mixing gambling and cooking.
Thing I didn’t like:
most of these I blame in the formatting (it’s wattpad what did I expect) but there were some plot holes
1) Azami was married into the Nakiri family in both canon and canon story so if main character has a different mother (which was never confirmed) then she couldn’t have her ‘God nose’ as the super-tasting(smelling) gene is unique to the Nakiri family, which opens another plot-hole since main character and Erina are the same age (wasn’t confirm if they were twins). There are two ways to fix this:
1) Erina’s mother would have to abandon them a few months after Erina’s birth, then have a one night stand, have a baby, drop the baby in a orphanage.
2)She has an affair keeps the baby, have the baby and because the baby looks like a mix of Erina and Alice (pale, platinum blonde hair, and red eyes) no one says anything until she leave (she would have to leave when Erina and Alice were at and age to forget main character) the adult find out that main character is an affair baby and Azami dumps her in a orphanage.
3) I did really like the ‘I will gamble for your high quality expensive ingredients or generations old recipe’ but I was kinda sad that that part of the story wasn’t explored or elaborate , I think this would also be interesting in the plot because people don’t know who or how the bloodhound looks like so main character would be doing her thing with these gambling Shokugeki and that’s when the elite ten and other people would put pieces together
4) how main character randomly is no longer hanging out with the main cast. I mean they do but she was friends with Soma in the beginning but then suddenly in the middle they don’t hang out anymore?? (Again blaming this on the formatting)
Anyway other than that I really enjoyed reading it 7/10 recommend
