Family Findings
Lily had gotten up to make lunch, James trailed behind her to go and help and Remus had left to go check on the children in the playroom, leaving the two brothers together. Sirius looked over to his younger brother taking a deep breath, “So…” Regulus closed his book glaring slightly at Sirius, “I still haven’t forgiven you.” He stated bluntly, Sirius physically recoiled back slightly, it hurt knowing Regulus didn’t forgive him, but what hurt more was that Regulus had no clue what Sirius had gone through. Walburga and Orion were perfectly sweet towards their youngest son, they never hurt him or yelled at him, if they could change for him, why couldn’t they do the same for Sirius, “I understand why Reg.. I get it, I left you and didn’t tell you.. But there are reasons..! I promise mon frère..” Regulus just scoffed, his glare becoming more intense, “Sure.” He said the sarcasm lacing his voice, Sirius started playing with his hands, a nervous habit that resulted in horrid consequences when his mother caught him doing it, she’d take the iron poker out the fire and smack his hands with it. That memory alone was enough to make him stop, staring at the scars on his hands, the scars that he had to lie about for so many years, the scars he still lied about to his darling baby brother. Sirius finally looked up a finger tracing his scars, “I’m being honest!” Sirius raised his voice a little. Regulus stood up, glancing down at his older brother, “No you aren’t, you’re a liar, I know you’re lying, what reason would you have to leave?! You abandoned me Sirius, you’re lucky I even tolerate being around you!” He bit back, hatred in his eyes, Sirius did something he was famous for in school, speaking without thinking, “They fucking abused me! Both of them! Everyday I was home they fucking screamed at me and hurt me! My scars and injuries were never from myself, I was never the reason I had the fucking cuts, burns and bruises. I lied to you to keep you safe. I lied to let you have the parents I wanted..” By now Sirius had gone from yelling to crying, he held himself, “I’m sorry I left but if I stayed I would have died..” Sirius mumbles out the tears rolling down his face. Regulus was silent, he didn’t know what to say, he didn’t know how to react so instead he slowly sat back down, still not saying a word.
Due to the yelling, the other three adults re entered the room, they hadn’t heard what happened just the muffled yells, the moment Remus saw his husband crying he rushed over hugging him tight, “Hey.. What happened annwyl..?” He asked his voice gentle as he ran his fingers through his husband's curls. Sirius just shook his head, his eyes glazed over slightly, Sirius wasn’t really there, he was somewhere else, Remus knew the look. Anytime Sirius would return from therapy he would have that look in his eyes, like he was trying to get away from the memories. Remus just pulled Sirius off the couch into his lap while James walked over to Regulus, “Reggie? What happened..?” Regulus looked up, tears brimming his eyes, “Did you know..?” James looked confused prompting Regulus to continue, “Did you know what they did to Sirius..?” His voice was so small, so unlike his husband, James felt his heart breaking. He put his hand on Regulus’s shoulder, “Yeah.. I did- He didn’t want you to know..” He mumbled out, Lily soon joined her husband’s wrapping her arms around Regulus, kissing his head gently. Regulus tried not to cry, rubbing his eyes, it hurt him knowing his brother went through so much shit but lied, he lied for Regulus’s sake.
